Overall a good experience except for two things. The beds were hard as a rock and the two large dogs were let out very early in the morning and barked constantly

Wonderful place to stay. Be careful using map posted on Expedia as we followed the map and ended up in a completely different location.

The apartment was beautiful and well kept. It was perfect for our short stay in Sintra! The place is definitely big enough for several people and a large family!

Paula was very helpful and pleasant at check-in. The rental was on the top floor and had amazing views of the mountain and Moorish Castle. The weather was rainy and the top of the mountain was in fog but it made the evening lit up castle look like it was on fire - very cool. The area was a bit out of the way but was very nice and quiet. The drive in was spectacular if a little tight in places. Highly recommend.

Bucolic country setting with views of Palace

Paula is such a sweet hostess, and we enjoyed our quick overnight stay…with only one exception….the barking dogs may be a natural part of the country landscape, however they were quite loud and barked very late at night….and a friendly reminder….remember to pack light for overseas travel…narrow and steep stairs seem to be everywhere!

Beautiful countryside home

We stayed for 1 night in May 2024. Paula met us at the property and showed us around: she was very helpful and gracious. The property is a beautifully restored farmhouse in the valley, with the back looking straight up the mountain at the Palácio de Pena and the Castelo dos Mouros, up above the old village of Sintra. It’s a spectacular view, especially at night, but the house is far enough out of the touristy areas that you have some peace and quiet when you want it. The apartment was clean and spacious, and well kept with a few personal touches (some of the tile was homemade by Paula and her family, we heard). The balconies are perfect for viewing the mountain and the comfortable living room left us with plenty of room to sleep comfortably in the bedrooms. About the only thing to caution is that you probably want have a car to stay here: there is transit nearby but it can take time and be confusing to plan, so you really want to be able to drive into Sintra to make the most of your time here. Other than that it was a perfect location and a great stay, and we enjoyed it very much. Muito obrigado Paula e até a próxima!

This place is a gem in a very quiet rural area. It has a lovely view of Pena palace. The host greeted us upon arrival and she is so sweet and kind. She gave us a tour of the house and a recommendation for dinner. The house has 3 bedrooms and a full kitchen. Comfy sofa in The living room. It doesn’t have A/C but it was still cool enough to sleep even tho it was 26. I highly recommend this place. We only stayed the one night but wish it could’ve been longer.
