This is a cosy and compact cottage, close to the M6 and Carlisle, but in a quiet village.

This is a cosy and compact cottage, close to the M6 and Carlisle, but in a quiet village.It's amazing how much has been fitted into a small space - both the spiral staircase and the limited headroom shower look challenging but actually aren't. Owners are very welcoming - the 'welcome' supplies in the fridge were the best I've seen.A good base for a solo traveller or a couple wanting to explore Hadrian's Wall country and the Solway Plain

A very well equipped cottage with everything we needed.

A very well equipped cottage with everything we needed. Furniture and bedding was high quality, very comfortable and the cottage was spotlessly clean. The excellent welcome pack was a lovely bonus and very thoughtful. We had a lovely stay and would happily go back. The spiral staircase might not suit everyone but we liked the clever use of space.

Lovely annex

We were informed on the way and had contact regarding our flight delays, which meant we got there early hours in the morning however joyce had ensured we knew how to enter and had filled up the fridge with some food instead of us having to stop on the way home. I had to attend my mums funeral and this way of caring made us feel very warm inside. The annex was lovely everything so clean,it made our weekend a lot less stressful. Can’t thank joyce enough. Will definitely be staying here again if available in the future. Thank u joyce!
