About this property

Chapel Cottage: Cotswolds Hidden Gem!

Welcome to Chapel Cottage!

Our 17th century cottage is in the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water, fondly known as 'The Venice' of the Cotswolds.

It's the typical Cotswolds cottage with tight staircase and low ceilings.

It’s perfectly in the middle of the town and therefore short walk to pubs and restaurants. No parking is included.

Also have properties in:

Norfolk Coast (Weybourne - sleeps 12)
South Devon (Torcross - sleeps 12)
Cotswolds (Bourton-on-the-Water - sleeps 8)

🛌 Two bedrooms and a loft room
🛋️ Open plan lounge/dining space
🔥 Huge, beautiful fire place
🏘️ Perfectly positioned on the High Street!
🥾 Near nature trails and other Cotswold villages
🏡 Outside courtyard garden with lights and a heater
🐾 Dog friendly - please enquire

Chapel Cottage is quaint. That's the best way to sum up this perfect Cotswolds residence.

Right in the heart of the town, amongst a plethora of places to eat and drink, this house is perfect for couples or families alike.

You walk straight into a main room with a huge log burning fire, two sofas and a dining alcove perfect for 4.

To your left you enter the kitchen which is fully equipped and off that there is a small courtyard garden with fairy lights and outdoor heaters for alfresco dining or drinking in the comfort of your Cotswolds cottage. This space is incredibly private due to high stone walls.

Back into the living quarters and up the stairs (which are very tight - not recommended for people with accessibility requirements) towards the two double bedrooms and the family bathroom. Both of these bedrooms are roomy and incredibly comfortable.

You can go one more floor up via another even tighter set of cottage stairs to a "den" like single bedroom in the loft, which would be perfect for a child looking for their own room.

Pets can be acceptable by negotiation, please message me.

Thank you!

The home was ok. I noticed in the ottoman that there was dog food or something where the button holes were at. I also had to remove a few spiders and webs. A few days before we checked in I received a copy of the Welcome Guide. I was a little shocked at all the rules, especially the recycling rules. I was scared to leave any trash for fear of being charged if we didn't do it right. There was supposed to be a spare key if we lost the one we were given. There was not. Contacted the owner and he said they forgot to leave it. Thankfully we didn't need the extra key. The original listing said free parking. It was not free. I did bring it to his attention and told him I had booked based on the fact there was free parking. He did reimburse us but it took 2 weeks. He has since removed the free parking from the listing. In the welcome guide it stated it was a smart TV and could watch Netflix, Prime etc.. but this was not the case. At one point we couldn't even get the tv to come on. I contacted him and asked him about the Netflix, etc. was told we could only watch from the guide on the tv and he didn't know why the tv wasn't working. I finally unplugged and plugged it back in and it came on. I really hate being so negative for the Cotswolds was such a lovely place I just hate that our experience in the home wasn't as I had hoped for.
