About this property
Lambeth - a cottage that sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedrooms
Possibly the closest house to the sea in St Ives, The Cabin has unimpeded views of the harbour and across the bay. This highly individual property is steeped in history and retains much of its original character. D H Lawrence stayed here during WW1 and it was home and studio to Algernon Talmage whilst tutoring at the St Ives Art School at the beginning of the 20th century. The Cabin is all on one level and approached by a small flight of seven steps above an art gallery. It has traditional painted panelled walls, and stripped floorboards and is spacious and light with breathtaking views from all five seaward-facing windows.
Kitchen Wonderful views over the bay. Original Welsh dresser, built-in electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge and dishwasher. Small water heater for the kitchen sink and bathroom basin. Pine table with chairs.
Sitting/dining room Originally an artist's studio, this split-level room with a large skylight has inspiring views over the sea. Large corner settee, coffee tables and flat-screen TV/DVD. Dining table with seating for four.
Bedrooms
Bedroom 1. Wake up to the sound of the sea and amazing views to Godrevy Lighthouse! A large room with king-size bed, bedside tables, dressing table, wardrobe and chest.
Shower room
Shower cubicle with power shower, wash basin and WC. Heated towel rail.
Please note the following: The property is unsuitable for under 5's and any children should be fully supervised. Extra care is to be taken near the sitting room windows which open wide to a drop below. The property is grade 2 listed and guests should familiarise themselves with accessibility and the fire safety info provided. There is low headroom (5ft 10”) at the doorways. Scatter cushions and duvet are feather-filled. Heating is by storage and portable electric heaters.
