A truly gorgeous location for a complete ‘get away from it all’ A fantastic beach within a fairly short walk downhill and the best place for dog walking. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you need and dog friendly as well which is a great bonus. It is a good idea to take the basics as the location has very few grocery stores within easy striking distance and only one local pub.

I stayed here for 2 days on the weekend of 6th September with my two adult daughters and our dog. The cottage was very clean and well equipped for all our needs. We found the beds very comfortable and had two great nights sleep! The location was fantastic with just a short 10 min walk over the fields down to the nearest beach. We all fell in love with this patch of The Gower and really enjoyed our walks along the coastal footpath to Llanmadoc and the beautiful Cwm Ivy cafe. The views really are breathtaking. The host Jan and Simon were very friendly and accommodating. We would all highly recommend staying here and hope to return ourselves in the future.

Peaceful coastal getaway

Lovely cottage providing an authentic Welsh experience. Gorgeous location with views of the sea and a short walk to a quiet remote beach. Brilliant for dogs and children. Hosts were amazing and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and will be back. The only thing to be mindful of is the poor reception and spotty wifi so may not be the location if you are remote working, but it’s a perfect location for a family holiday and a digital detox!

Ceiliog bach is in a fabulous location from which to explore some amazing coastal landscapes. The beaches are stunning with a different beach within reach every day. The wildlife near the cast iron lighthouse was special. Thousands of oyster catcher and eider duck. The cottage is a ten minute walk from the local expansive Broughton beach and close to Rhossili. As a base for walking, you could not have a better spot. Our visit was mid October and we were blessed with good weather, blue skies (for most of the time) rich Autumn colours, a full "hunters moon" and virtually empty beaches. Apart from the wildlife, we had the beach at Whiteford Sands to ourselves. As we were out of season, some of the local amenities were closed but the pub in Llangennith served lovely food and beer. The community shop in Llanmadoc was always a hive of activity with a well stocked shop with freshly baked pasties; the cafe at Cwm Ivy was well worth a visit for both the food and views. At the end of a days walking, we always looked forward to returning back to Ceiliog Bach. The cottage is warm, well equipped and has everything you need. The garden at the back of the house is fully enclosed. The owners, Simon and Jan are welcoming, helpful - you could not want better hosts. All in all, a cracking place for a holiday or short break.

This sweet and quirky little cottage is in a most beautiful location with a sea views, a nice walk down to the stunning beach and a pub with good food in the village nearby. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The shower room was lovely and provided excellent showers every morning. The bedrooms were comfortable and everything was very clean and well presented. The only things we were less happy with were that there wasn’t really a comfortable sitting area for 4 adults together for the evenings. And the upstairs bed (though comfortable), is very high off the ground and proved tricky to get off for night time bathroom trips. Overall, we had a comfortable and very enjoyable stay and a lovely welcome from Jan and Si the hosts.
