About this property
Bramblewood - cosy chic, hot tub, close to beach
Encapsulating contemporary chic with the best of a gentle Devon cottage, Bramblewood invites a laid-back yet stimulating stay. This single-storey home is nestled among the verdancy of an established half acre of rose and laurel with plenty of outdoor space and a hot tub. The feature double-sided fireplace with wood-burning stove provides cosy comfort in the living room and vibrant kitchen-diner. Three soothing bedrooms sleep up to 6 guests in two king-size beds, and a bunk bed for children.
The Space
Gentle earthy accents frame a mix of traditional style and contemporary vibrancy at Bramblewood.
As a single-storey home, Bramblewood’s accessibility makes it reassuring for guests with mobility concerns.
The distinctive, plush yellow-green sofa and armchair are perfect for gathering to talk of the day’s adventures, or sitting back to catch-up on that boxset on the smart TV.
A feature double-sided fireplace with wood-burning stove sits between the lounge and kitchen-diner, built into the whitewashed thick, solid stone wall.
The well-equipped kitchen has a real zest for life. Zingy yellows contrast with functional greys, with seating for 6 near the feature wood-burning stove.
The master bedroom features a king-size bed, a built-in wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. Bedroom two’s eye-catching silver-effect headboard sets off the second king-size bed. There’s also a pine frame to hang clothes, and a chest of drawers.
Bedroom three has the kids’ comfort in mind. There’s a bunk bed and a rail to hang clothes and store cases.
The family shower room has an invigorating crispness. Large carbon-grey brick tiles highlight the white bathroom suite. There’s a small step into the double-size shower cubicle with electric shower.
To the rear, alongside the undulating garden, is the paved terrace. The large, L-shaped Rattan seating is more than ample for family and friends to gather for drinks and or enjoy a tasty barbecue. Plus, to really soothe away life’s pressures, the hot tub is your own private hydro treatment.
Beyond the large pyramid planters, the mature garden blends into the surrounding bucolic landscape. With tall trees, laurels, rose, and japonica, nature’s at home here with you. Listen to the uninterrupted sounds of the countryside as you picnic and restore your calm.
Guest access
Bramblewood’s rural location means that some roads are quite narrow, and single-lane in some places (there are passing points along the way).
As you turn off the road, there’s a fairly steep drive, which curves round to the right and down to the large parking area - adequate for several cars.
