A perfect spot for exploring the Lakes. A very attentive host and the cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean.

The best equipped accommodation I’ve ever stayed in! A roomy house with beautiful features and a luxury, cosy, cottage, feel. We were a group of 5 - 2 elders, 2 adult children and a teen We all absolutely loved our stay here - very highly recommended. Jill was a great responsive and communicative host and check-in and check out were easy.

An idyllic setting

Barnhaven is a spacious and comfortable cottage in a really lovely setting. We enjoyed two tranquil weeks there. Great walks from the door but also not far by car from different landscapes and activities. If you can tear yourself away from the gorgeous garden, it's a short drive to Levens Village Shop and their traybakes. Jill was responsive to our queries and the written info in the cottage was comprehensive and helpful. We'd certainly stay here again.

From the moment we made an enquiry our host Jill was very informative and engaging. The shared documents prior to the start of our stay was excellent. When we arrived, we were not disappointed, check in access was very easy. Barnhaven has everything and more for a comfortable home from home. We are a family of four adults and had enough space to feel we could enjoy our individual time and when we came together there were ample options. You have open countryside behind you, with the sound of tractors and sheep wafting inward. The village is small with a nice pub and walks to start or end your day with, We would recommend this cottage for those wanting easy access to Kendal, Windermere, Keswick and beyond and are hoping to stay again in the future.

Charming in Cumbria

Barnhaven was our last stop on a trip across the north of England with two old friends. What a pleasant end to our journey! The home is beautiful, very spacious and comfortable, with a lovely back garden. It lacked nothing. We made ourselves complete dinners, conversed in the dining and living rooms, finally caught up the laundry!, and slept well. Brigsteer itself is in a beautiful area, very quiet, and not far to some Lake District hikes. Our host Jill provided excellent information to help us arrive and gain entry. We were a little sad to have to leave!

This was our second stay at Barnhaven and it didn’t disappoint. Very comfortable. Very peaceful. On the hottest of days it provided cool respite. We hope to return next year.
