Serene Charming Cabin in Arrowbear

The cabin is located on 6400 elevation with steep roads and steep driveway, in a quiet and serene area and the road is not maintained by county. Surrounding with big boulders, trees and large deck facing the forest with BBQ and portable heater to enjoy spring and fall nights.
It's two story cabin with two bedrooms, one bath, wood burning fireplace, portable air conditioner, WiFi, cable TVs, and DVD player. Filled with all the conveniences of home, cabin has a full kitchen with stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, coffee grinder, coffee beans in the cabinet, dishes, pots/pans and more...

Both bedrooms have a Queen Firm/Medium Firm Beds. Both bedrooms come equipped with fans and extra blankets.

When traveling to the mountains in the winter months, you are required to carry chains and AWD is a plus from November to March, even if it isn't snowing at the time.

If it snows before your arrival, we will make sure the driveway is accessible, if we can't find snow removal service, we will let you know ahead of time. During your stay, if snow needs to be removed from the driveway, it is the guests’ responsibility. We provide a shovel to help with snow removal. If you do not wish to remove the snow, you can contact a snow removal service. Additional information will be provided to confirmed guests. It will be your responsibility to pay the fee for the snow removal.
Changes or Cancellations to your reservations at 12pm on check in date, due to weather or road conditions, will be charged that day.

Lien was a very helpful, considerate and kind host! The property was very cozy and particularly family friendly. We had all the utensils we needed plus some very helpful, basic cooking needs (oil, salt, spices). Towels and bedsheets were comfortable and smelled so nice! The beds hugged you to sleep. Games in the evening by the fireplace were awesome. If you are looking for a warm and cozy family and/or friends get together we lost definitely recommend booking this beautiful place!

Cozy Cabin

Cute cabin with a view of the forest. It had everything we needed. Hot coffee to get us going in the morning, and a crackling fireplace to come home to after a day on the slopes. Plus, we could bring our dog. Can't ask for anything more.

I was very impressed with Lien's cabin. It was so clean and cozy with everything you'd have in your own home. My family enjoyed it so much that we never left the cabin. The wonderful view of nature right from the living room was amazing. We will definitely be going back. Thanks Lien!

Nice cabin with good view!

This is a very nice cabin! So many cabins in this area are so dark and outdated but this felt open with the big windows / doors out to the upper deck with a nice view of the forest. Not too much light so you can see the stars! My wife and I were visiting for a bike race at Rim Nordic, less than 10 minutes from the cabin. We walked to Blondie’s for a nice dinner and with Running Springs having a Mexican and Pizza restaurant, we were happy we didn’t have to deal with crowds of Big Bear. The house was well stocked and furnished and Lien was quick to respond to my questions. We recommend this cabin and plan to return.

Spectacular views and cozy home - perfect getaway!!

My sister and I enjoyed our recent stay over Thanksgiving weekend at your cabin. We LOVED our time there! We had her two furry kids and they also loved the cabin – especially the new enlarged deck where they could look out over the forest (or the dog next door which they were fascinated with)! Your new upgrades – new deck, fresh paint and new windows – were great. Everything feels fresh but still has the feeling of a comfortable home. It was quite cold while we were there, so we really enjoyed having a fire going during the evenings. As everyone else states, Lien has provided everything you need. The views are spectacular, and you really get the feeling of being away from it all when you’re at the cabin.

A good winter rental ... not so much for summer

The cabin was clean and homey, with one small standing fan. It was ninety degrees and the neighbors were complaining of the heat. The only way you could get air moving around was by opening the two sliders, or going out on the small deck. There were no screens on either sliders or windows ... mosquitos inside and out! By the second night it was miserable and therefore I got no sleep, mainly due to over 30 mosquito bites. Got up real early next morning and left.

Relaxing and peaceful place to stay

We loved our stay here. It was exactly what I was looking for. It is a very quiet area. We went on 4th of July weekend. I needed a quite place since my dog doesn’t do well with all the fireworks in my neighborhood. I was really impressed with the kitchen. It had everything we needed to cook. Pots, pans, utensils and even spices and oils. I was really impressed by the coffee selection. I am a huge fan of coffee, and this really made me happy. Loved that there were games to play and a nice selection of movies on DVD’s I really felt like the owners wanted your stay to be comfortable . There were extra blankets and fans. Overall best VRBO experience yet! The only downside was the steep stairs to the bedrooms. Probably not a problem for most people. We took our 2 small dogs and one of them has a knee problem, so she had to be carried downstairs. Would defiantly bring a baby gate next time so we didn’t have to worry. Overall it was a wonderful stay! Thank you so much!!❤️

Idyllic Winter Cabin

Our family of 3 and a pup could not have enjoyed this cabin more. We got up later than expected due to Big Bear New Year traffic but directions from Lien, were spot on with helping us get to the cabin. We were so excited to have snow on the ground when we arrived that we got distracted with unpacking. Once settled, my husband built a fire and we took in the the cozy surroundings. The cabin is filled with everything you might need, forgot or did not think you would need! The Rutherford family must love to cook as much as us, because the kitchen had all the spices and utensils one needed. When checking the weather before we left, it did not call for rain or snow (that was disappointing) but in Big Bear weather fashion, we ended up with snow flurries for an entire day. Come prepared for all types of weather in the winter! We spent most of the time in the cabin just relaxing looking out the picture window of the sprawling trees and winter wonderland. It was a perfect way to bring in the New Year! We will definitely be back. Thank you Lien and family for allowing us to borrow your cabin!

I’m going to start with the good and work my way to the not so good. First, the owner if very responsive and she is very kind and does want her guests to have a good experience. Second, the cabin is much more homey than the pictures portray. I wasn’t quite sure it would be as it looks a bit crowded in the pictures to me, but it was very nice and pleasant and if you stay here, it will be the same for you. It has whole house heater, and a high-end portable air conditioner, as well as an air purifier. They also have a K-cup duo, which should definitely be in the description because it is nice to know it is there; and have some welcoming K-cups to use, which was nice. The beds were comfortable with warm flannel sheets and extra blankets. The host didn’t ask for much on checkout, making it easy. The view is great, the house is great, and the owner is great. Now the not so good… We arrived after a storm, the owner said the driveway would be cleared, but it was not, and the only shovel provided was broken. The closest parking is a 15 minute walk down the hill and the plow will bury or block your car. The CO detectors were beeping and she said someone would come by to change the batteries, but no one did, so we did and found that they were beeping because they were expired. The shower only got up to about 99F, not enough to soothe cold muscles but ok for short showers. Overall, it is a nice cabin, but I would not stay here in the snow again. Maybe we will try it out in the summer…

Amazing place to celebrate the joy of the season!

We booked this lovely cabin as a group Christmas gift. Us adults enjoyed cooking delicious meals in the well appointed kitchen and the kids had a blast in the beautiful (and within view from the balcony) out of doors. Would definitely stay again. Bring chains even if you drive an appropriate vehicle- the angle of the driveway paired with icy conditions can prove difficult.

Spacious house with deck looking out at trees and forest. Quiet. Bedrooms are down steep stairs and bathroom is upstairs so requires caution for folks who use the bathroom in the middle of the night, but plenty of lighting available. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need!

Fun mountain getaway

This cozy cabin was a great spot for our family getaway. The beds were comfortable and the porch is unbeatable. We had our own pile of snow right out front for the kids. The location is perfectly rustic. If you have small children, you may want to consider bringing a baby gate or making alternative plans- we brought a baby gate for the stairs but still needed to do a lot of close watching in this cabin (fragile decor down low, wires and plugs galore, no plastic plates, bowls, etc). Check in was a breeze and the 10 minute drive to ski and tube was perfect.

Relaxing Winter wonderland stay

This was our 2nd stay, our 1st was in the summer. It was just as wonderful as the 1st! Only thing different was the beautiful upgrades that compliment the cabin so well. Gorgeous deck & bathroom. Comfortable furniture & beds. Spent cozy nights by the fireplace playing chess. We felt we were in a winter wonderland with the property & view surrounded by snow! Hospitality & cleanliness never disappoints. Directions & detailed instructions always appreciated! Perfect for our family of 4 & pups to have a comfortable stay & relax. Hope to be back soon !

Beautiful in the winter but parking can a challenge

We arrived about 5 days after a snow storm so we found the cabin very similar to the photos. There was a mound of snow in the front. The view from the back is down a snow slope with trees. We found sleds in the back porch but my kids just used in the front so I wouldn't worry they would hit a tree. The mudroom, the living room, the kitchen and the one bathroom are on the main entrance floor. And the two bedrooms are down a set of stairs. My mother-in-law cannot do stairs so slept on the couch upstairs which worked out fine. The tv had cable and dvds. Also had internet and even t-mobile cell phone coverage was fine. My one issue is the listing really should say "parking by cabin requires a AWD vehicle in the winter". Tank road is not maintained by the county which means it can be completely full of snow when you arrive. In our case, I found the first 25 yards clear but the seconds 25 yards just too icy to get up to the driveway. If I had AWD I might have made it. I tried doing tire chains be ended up being too much of a pain. I did the only alternative which is unload and park by the lake a half mile away. In the end, my kids really loved this place with all the snow around the cabin, and that we could bring our family dog. Visiting the tubing place down the road was also a highlight.

Great Cabin for a weekend in the woods

Great cabin on the top off a hill. Great views of the forest and mountains and birds from the back deck. Short drive to hiking, town, and Lake Arrowhead. Also a short drive to the SkyPark at Santa's Village. We had a great stay, Thank you.

We have owned this lovely cabin since 2014. Andy and Lien are our names and we have been coming with our dog Jemma every weekend to enjoyed its beauty.
We remodeled the entire home ourselves with some help from friends.
We truly love the cabin and cozy environment it provides us.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is located in small quaint community, the deck looks out to national forest valley, it's serene and quiet. In summer, we can take a short walk or hike or cycle up to Keller Peak and climb up to see the look out of Running Springs valley.
In winter, we can play on sled in the backyard of forest valley.
We're 5 miles away from Snow Valley and Snow Drift, 7 miles away from Arrowhead and 3 miles from Santa Villages with full winter attractions and 17 miles from Big Bear with full attractions of summer and winter sports.
