Wonderful stay and excellent customer service

We stayed in Potterygate for a long weekend to celebrate my Mum’s 70th birthday. The cottage had a home-like feeling and was clean with absolutely everything we may ever need. I particularly appreciated the dog basket with leads, treads and poo bags! The customer service was also wonderful. Tarn and Fell Escapes LTD were easy to contact and handles everything with an expert touch. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future

Comfortable well-located cottage

We had a nice time in this comfortable, well located cottage, and really appreciated the high chair and travel cot provided for our little one. Upstairs was beautifully clean with sumptuous linen and lovely bathroom. Downstairs the lounge rug and cushions were really in need of a clean which wasn’t ideal for our little crawler, and it would have been nice to have a log or two provided for the fire. Overall we enjoyed ourselves but there could be just a few improvements for full comfort

Lovely stay at Pottery Gate

This property had a lovely homely feel that made our party feel instantly comfortable. Kitchen was small but worked really well and there was everything you could need if you decided to cook. Great bathroom - very decadent TV in front of the bath! Location was perfect for Bowness and close to lots of amazing restaurants. Don’t miss Sweet Dreams cafe for the very best freshly baked artisan bread and stunning cakes and pastries which was very close to Pottery Gate in Quarry Rigg precinct. All in all one of the best stays I’ve experienced.

An excellent break at Pottery Gate.

We had three nights at the lovely Pottery Gate which is a well presented cottage having everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is well situated near the centre of Bowness with a convenient access to the bus services ( which we used extensively ) when using North Terrace to access Lake Road. There are steps to one side of the property. Ross was extremely helpful as always in explaining the logistics of the on street parking. We would stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it to our family and friends.

This is our second visit to Pottery Gate and yet again the cottage was perfect and absolutely immaculate throughout. Excellent location for all the pubs, restaurants and lovely walks in the sunshine. As always nothing was too much trouble for Ross. Friendly and professional as always. Looking forward to our next stay with Tarn and Fell escapes in January.

A fabulous place to stay!

Our stay at Pottery Gate was just perfect from start to finish. On arrival it was cosy and warm and all decorated for Christmas so very festive. Everything and more was catered for to make our little holiday lovely and comfortable. Not even the rain could spoil our stay and we enjoyed it so much we've booked it again! Also nothing was too much trouble for Ross. Friendly, helpful and professional as always.

Fabulous spot, homely, exceptionally clean and a little gem!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Pottery Gate. The house was super clean, very comfortable, and a great place to come home too after a long day walking. The bathroom was a huge hit with my children, watching tv while having a bath was a great surprise! It was very handy having the laundry facilities too, a great addition to the house. I’d also add that we are not pet people and I was a little worried about smells, but there was none at all. It was very clean and smelt wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking for a little base in the Lakes.

Amazing

We booked this for our staff team at Pebble Healthcare to thank them for their amazing work and the feedback from the team was phenomenal. The property itself was done to the highest standard throughout and the attention to detail excellent. The whole place was immaculate and the service we received was outstanding. The location itself is excellent too. We could not find a single thing to improve on. Thank you so much Tarn and Fell, you will forever be our go to.

First visit to the Lakes

Great first stay in the lakes, the property location is fantastic and within walking distance to the lake. The decor and facilities within the property is like a home from home, everything was thought of with added extras on arrival which was really thoughtful. Communication and the service prior couldn’t fault, we travelled as two couples with 2 cars the additional space to park was greatly appreciated. The weather wasn’t on our side during our visit so didn’t make use of the outdoor space but those staying on a sunny day the outdoor space and table and chairs I can imagine it’s really enjoyable. The washing machine and dryer was so handy to wash walking clothes. Won’t hesitate in staying again or recommending. Thank you Ross and team.

A lovely Lake District stay

We had a lovely stay at Pottery Gate with our two dogs. The house was extremely clean and really lived up to the photos. The location is brilliant and easy driving distance from fabulous walks as well as walking distance from all the amenities you could need. It’s important to note that although you get a permit for one car, a space isn’t guaranteed so we did have to do a bit of walking from our car parking space to get to the house which was a bit awkward with two dogs and bags on arrival and we had to make several trips from the car and back. Finding the house was easy, although I did have some difficulty opening the gate and both the front door and back door of the property without some help as the gate needs a good shove and the door handles are very stiff so would advise some improvements here. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking and the place felt very comfortable and cosy, I would have liked some more fire logs however as we could only find one. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and we slept very well! The dogs also had a great time and it was great that we could easily shower them down in the courtyard area after muddy walks before going in the house. We luckily brought our own hose attachment which came in handy as the hose pipe provided had several holes in it so didn’t work – something that would be great to replace for future guests. Overall, this is a brilliant holiday cottage in a fantastic location and despite a few minor issues, I would recommend to others.
