We had a fabulous stay during lobster fest. The space was clean. Exactly what we needed for a two night stay. Walking distance to the Main Street. Easy check in. Would absolutely stay again!
We had a wonderful time, the accommodations were perfect for the two of us, and the location was just a few steps from the Main Street shops and eats. We would stay again!
It was our first trip ever to Maine. The Vrbo property was perfect! Quaint, cozy and within walking distance to so much.
Loved the whole area and look forward to visiting again sometime.
Amazing location, you can walk to Main St in seconds. Overall great place. I would note that the bathroom has a curtain in place of a door, so make sure you are on pretty close terms with whoever you are staying here with.
Stayed 2 nights in this comfortable, cozy apartment. The location was perfect- walking distance to restaurants, shops and harbor. Clean and quiet location!
This property was perfect for our needs. The place was comfortable, albeit it had a very small bathroom with no dedicated bathroom sink. Our host was friendly. The location was excellent with easy access to the high street. Would stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay and would rebook in the future. The only negative was that the portable a/c unit is very loud and the fan makes a clicking sounds.

Thank you for your kind words and look forward to hosting in the future. I do wish you had contactef me regarding the noise you heard from the fan as it has always been silent. I could have had someone come right away and take care of it for you. We share contact information before check in to ensure good communication between us.
Take care and thanks again

About the host

I've been an owner of Captain Hugo's Guest House since 2002. The history of both the house and the town has always held a fascination for me and I love to give travelers the opportunity see it for themselves. Rockland is a wonderful town, rich in history and art and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I do.
Why they chose this property
The location and the quaint feel of the guest room. Oh, and Edward Hopper stayed here in 1926. See unique benefits below. Low key, no pressure stay. Let yourselves in and out, private entrance and bath. No contact, but if you see me in the yard weeding, I'll say hello and ask if you need anything.
What makes this property unique
For those travelers who have an interest in art, Edward Hopper used the living room (circa 1926) as subject matter in a painting titled 'Mrs. Achorns Parlor' which now belongs to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The living room in the painting is now the guest suite. He apparently had a fascination with New England boarding houses and stayed here with Mrs. Achorn who was the owner at the time and rented out rooms.
