Remote, simple and perfectly clean. Well equipped and quite spacious. Extremely accommodating and friendly host. Would definitely recommend and return.
Had a loverly stay very relaxing and quiet location, had many loverly walks with the dog.Host could not have been any more welcoming and hospitable, will be returning again next year
This is absolutely one of the most heartwarming cottages we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Pet and family friendly, it genuinely felt like a home away from home. Jennifer and her husband’s warmth and kindness truly made our Christmas something unforgettable — they went above and beyond, decorating the cottage with such love and festive cheer that it transformed the entire atmosphere into a magical Christmas wonderland. The cottage was immaculately clean and unbelievably cosy, providing a comfort that touched our souls. Each morning, waking up to the sight of gentle sheep and diligent working dogs was an absolute delight — a connection to nature that filled our hearts with joy. We loved it so much that we’ve already booked for next year. The scenery is nothing short of breathtaking, offering endless opportunities for peaceful walks, each one more inspiring than the last. This place isn’t just a getaway; it’s a soul-stirring experience that leaves you longing to return.
What an absolute find this cottage was, so quiet and peaceful and a lovely place to relax and unwind, and very well equipped. It was just perfect for our dogs with its totally enclosed garden. Jennifer our host could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return for a longer stay next time
Stayed there for 2 nights.Amazing rural location, quiet and lovely getaway.Jennifer was ever so friendly.Recommend to anyone.Had no issue with phone signal at the cottage. Was fairly easy to get there.
Lovely, homely cottage in a rural and remote location. Very cosy winter break in spite of the winter weather. Wildlife spotting and star gazing included!
We stayed as a family for 2 night, lovely welcome as we arrived. No wifi or mobile signal which actually made the holiday more enjoyable
Will definitely return
This was a wonderful cottage to stay at! It was very secluded with beautiful views! We enjoyed taking the path to the far end and watch the view and sheep. Inside there was plenty of room. We enjoyed the tranquil fell throughout this cottage. Would definitely come back for a longer stay!
Fantastic location a real “get away from it all”. The property is exactly as described and lived up to our expectations. Lovely welcoming hosts and would definitely recommend this property.
A lovely cottage far enough away from the world to be peaceful but still close to amenities. Practicalities like the great hosts, the comfortable beds and the well stocked kitchen aside the pictures don’t do the setting justice.
Lovely cottage, lots of room. Kitchen was well stocked. Unfortunately these Americans needed directions for using the shower☹️

Sorry about the shower issues? You should have come round and asked us. I noticed the power was off, it is the cord on the outside of the bathroom. Hope this helps our potential guests. : ) J
We loved our stay in this beautiful cottage. It felt like we were far away from everything, the surroundings are so stunning. The host was very helpful and everything very pleasant.
We loved all the birds and squirrels in the mornings and the log fire!
Thanks for a magical weekend!

Was so relieved that the rules relaxed enough so that you could come and enjoy your special day with your family. Thank you for your lovely review.
We stayed for five nights at this absolutely beautiful place, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Surrounded by rolling hills, lush greenery, and the gentle sounds of nature — sheep grazing, cows mooing — it was the perfect private getaway. One of the highlights was Bellamy, the stunning and gentle horse we were able to feed and stroke – such a joy!Our hostess, Harriet, was truly exceptional — warm, kind, and incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to make our stay special. When we needed anything, she was right there, always with a smile. One of the most memorable moments was when she took us out on her quad bike to feed the sheep and cows, patiently answering all our questions and making us feel so welcome. It was an absolute pleasure staying at this magical location. We’ll definitely be back!
Great cottage. Environment is very beautiful. Easy to find the cottage thanks to clear instructions. Hosts are very friendly. Everything we needed was available. Very good beds, clean, comfortable living room. Table in front of the window with a spectacular view over the environment.
Fabulous peaceful break away from everything. Love the log burner, homely and comfortable. Great hosts, there if if you need them, incredible scenery. The view from the dining table changed daily from sheep and lambs to the horse and calves. Will be back
We arrived tired; we left rested and at peace. This is a delightful, authentic home on a working farm. It’s warmth and the hosts are delightful. We felt as if we had come home. We enjoyed unparalleled unencumbered views across the magnificent scenery with pheasants, sheep, and horses to keep us company.

Beautiful area, unspoilt scenery
As others have said, the photos of the views really don't do this cottage justice and the description really can't express the peace. Weather wasn't great but we spent a day walking straight from the door and could have spent more time walking locally (maps and routes provided) had we not wanted to explore a little further afield. The cottage is a gorgeous old building and very private. We loved the living room and artwork within it. However, the rest of the cottage was a bit beyond 'rustic charm' and could do with a bit of time and money investing in it, something I realise is not easy when juggling the demands of upland farming.

If we were to invest time and money into the cottage we would have to charge double the price which means that less people would be able to afford a holiday.
It is a traditional shepherds cottage not a new build holiday apartment.
Everything is clean, tidy and is in good working order.
This place is a small slice of heaven! The cottage was immaculate, with everything you could possibly need for a break away from the hustle and bustle. Jennifer was extremely helpful and understanding ( as we got there a bit later than planned). The cottage is warm, homely and secluded with amazing views and walks. The pictures don’t do it justice. We are already looking at our calendar to see when we can return!!

We live in the farmhouse, 150 mtrs from the cottage and have run the cottage as a holiday home for over 40 years. My husband grew up with his family in the cottage.
Why they chose this property
Peaceful Rural Unspoilt
What makes this property unique
It is the remote rural situation that makes this cottage unique. The open views can be enjoyed from the comfort of the sofa in the sitting room. Secluded and private but at the same time the farmhouse where we live is close by should you require us.
