The Uplands - with views that change as often as the weather
Situated on the top floor of historic Broadmeadows House this light and airy family friendly let is accessed by an internal circular red sandstone staircase (with a climb of 62 steps this is perhaps not suitable for our less able guests!)The accommodation comprises of
Fully fitted kitchen with table and chairs
Comfortable light sitting room with a triple aspect views across the wooded valley over The Duke of Buccleuch's country estate towards the historic & ghostly Newark Tower.
The Uplands has 2 beautifully furnished bedrooms - linen provided
The south bedroom has a double sleigh bed and the extra large north bedroom has 2 single antique brass beds.
Large bathroom with bath ans separate shower - towels provided
Laundry and boot room
Central heating throughout
Cot and high chair available on request.

Wonderful property and super helpful owner

It is fairly private. The stairs are a bit of a hike, but worth it fornthe lovely views. The home was beautifully maintained and very comfortable

Wonderful stay

The apartment was wonderful,the rooms were all a good size well furnished and immaculate. The location was just right for us. Plenty of walks from the door step and lots more to do within an easy distance.. All in all we had a marvellous time. Thank you.

Relaxation in a beautiful home in beautiful countryside

It's quite a climb (62 steps) to the front door of Uplands apartment but what waits within is well worth it! Amazing, peaceful views in a classy and comfortable environment. The lounge is large, the bedrooms larger and the bathroom even larger still! The finishes and finishing touches throughout are of a high standard which all adds to the relaxed and luxury experience. The kitchen is simple and functional and my favourite spot was sitting at the kitchen table, whatever the meal or coffee break, and simply looking out of the window. The fact that our host, Dianne, was extremely helpful and accommodating added to our experience and we would highly recommend a stay at Broadmeadows.

Quite week with our family

We spent a week at Broadmeadows in the upper flat. It was very quite (which we like a lot), with easy access to lots of walks and we also spent a fair bit of time visiting some near by attractions such as Abbotsford etc. Diane and Richard were very helpful indeed in making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend.

Wunderhübsche Fewo in den Scottish Borders. Wir haben unseren Urlaub hier sehr genossen.Das Domizil ist prima ausgestattet und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet.Das Gelände ums Haus herum ist sehr weitläufig und gepflegt, eine Uralub auch für die Augen. Viel Platz für 4 Personen, Handtücher und Bettwäsche inclusive. Nach einer Woche wird alles frisch gewechselt.Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und haben im Broadmedows House eine gute Atmosphäre für Erholung und Entspannung geschaffen. Die Gegend ist toll und bietet vielfältige Möglichkeiten zu Unternehmungen........Wanderungen, Besichtigungen, Natur, Museen, Whisky, Tearooms oder aber ganz entspannt den Blick vom Garten aus in die umgebenden Berge schweifen lassen.

Beautiful, comfortable, welcoming place in idyllic surroundings

A real find and unexpected treasure for a reunion weekend with old friends. A spacious and very well appointed apartment with comfortable rooms, personal touches and spectacular views. Diane was available and attentive to all needs without being intrusive for a moment. A perfect spot for walking, cycling, motoring, stately homes and country estates. Blessed by lovely weather, even soft rain showers, the hedgerows were bursting with interest and action, and the forests alive with bird calls. All joy, we look forward to returning. I ALREADY GAVE A REVIEW.....HOWEVER, AGAIN, IT WAS VERY LOVELY AND A PEACEFUL PLACE TO STAY AND HIKE

BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS, LOVELY HOME AND EVERYTHING WE COULD POSSIBLY NEED (EXCEPT AN AMERICAN ADAPTOR). OWNER WAS A VERY NICE LADY WHO SEEMED TO RUN THE ENTIRE PLACE ON HER OWN! WHOEVER STAYS HERE WOULD NEED A CAR FOR GETTING OUT TO NEARBY ATTRACTIONS OR EVEN JUST GROCERY SHOPPING. THE OWNER TOOK US INTO TOWN THE FIRST NIGHT SO WE WERE ABLE TO STOCK UP ON FOOD. LOVED THE HIKING AND VIEW FROM THE HILLTOP. WE HAD A TAXI TAKE US TO AND FROM THE TRAIN STATION. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR RELAXATION.
