Excellent property!
Very remote. If that’s what you want you will find this an excellent retreat. I have reserved again for summer. I will bring my watercolors and paint.
Great cabin in a remote location. I had some concerns about being able to get to it with my car which sits pretty low. Road is gravel but if you take it slow, its not an issue. Cabin itself is perfect for a couple, or a small group. Screened in porch was the highlight and we spent most of our time there. Area is very quiet and peaceful, so if you are looking to get away from it all, this is a good place.
My family and I along with close friends had a wonderful stay at the Halls cabin. Most of our time was spent at the water or on the large screened in porch. My favorite place to enjoy my morning coffe. Owners were amazing, sweet, and knowledgeable about the area. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us it is a beautiful home. All the little decrotive touches pulled it all together. Easy check in and out proccess. Couldnt ask for a better or easier vacation.
The cabin is small but laid out very well, feels much larger with the screened in front deck that looks out over the lake. This is where we hung out the most, and ate all our meals. We love Nantahala Lake, but some of the houses have hundreds of steps to the docks. This house has both steps and a small side path that leads to the dock. Makes the dock more accessible compared to others places we have rented on the lake. I had a couple of questions about the cabin and owners wrote me back quickly and were very friendly. We rented a boat from "Nantahala Shores Boat Rentals" which are located just across the lake from this rental. They dropped off the boat right to our dock, and I highly recommended them if considering renting a boat on your stay. We look forward to our next visit to Nantahala Lake and stay at this cabin!
I stayed for the first time with my brother and his wife. We loved it. The cabin is comfy and the screened in porch was so nice to relax on in the morning and evening. So peaceful. I didn't have any problem with the steps to the dock but they are kind of steep. Just a bit of info. for anyone with mobility issues. My brother amd his wife fished and I kayaked with my foldable one I brought. Easy to get in and out of the water from the dock. I will say it is pretty remote so make sure you bring plenty of food and drinks. My only recommendation to the owners would be to maybe add a regular coffee pot to the kitchen. A very nice Keurig is provided but it would be nice to have the option. Overall I highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for beuutiful surroundings and peaceful days. There are options for activities not more than 45 minutes away on average. I drove to the Nantahala Outdoor Center and ziplined. They have other activities also. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.
This was our third time staying at this wonderful property and that pretty much says it all! We had friends visit one night and they were so taken with it that they are eager to rent it themselves. With Laurel's permission, we will definitely be coming back for stay number four!
Arrived after dark-no outside lights left on for us and we got lost twice. Cabin is nice, location is very remote. Despite what we were told, road is NOT suitable for a Lexus sedan. You need SUV or 4 wheel drive.
Property is in a great location. Very well kept and supplied well. Stairs to the dock are many and steep. Still a lovely place to visit. If you are looking to catch the bigger fish in the lake, good luck, we didn't have any!
Very clean and cozy cabin with great access to lake. We rented a boat for a few days and had a lovely time. Thoughtful organization and equipment in kitchen area!
My family thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Laurel's cabin on Nantahala Lake. It was convient to several hiking and local area attractions we enjoyed. We were even able to make to day trip to Asheville. The cabin was very comfortable, clean, quiet and everything you would want in a "mountain experience" in the Nantahala's. We spent every evening at thie fire pit enjoying the beautiful views of the mountains that surround the lake.
I could not recomment more highly if you are considering a trip to the area.
This was our second stay at this property, and that pretty much says it all. We reaffirm every good thing we and others have said previously about this wonderful cabin. The Fall foliage was glorious, the view beautiful, the crisp Fall air clear and clean. When we had enough chill, the cabin stayed toasty warm and cozy. We can’t wait for “Spot of Heaven Part III.”
The cabin was everything it said it was. Very clean and beautiful setting right on the lake. Out door fire pit was a huge hit on the cool evenings. We rented a pontoon and the dock was perfect for that. Owners were fantastic.
We had a great time! The cabin is cozy and the scenery was beautiful. Enjoyed the quietness and being there with my family. We will definitely be back.
The screened-in deck overlooking Nantahala Lake was the highlight! Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well-apportioned, cabin privacy was top-notch, the firepit was great and communication from owner was thorough. Very relaxing and we plan to visit again. The Internet connection was slow and limiting. It was the only drawback - if you like to stream a movie during your vacation it won't be an option.
We loved the cabin and the outdoor space by the cabin. We used those spaces everyday. Our only issue is you have a very steep 59 steps down to the lake. We rented a boat for the days we were there and enjoyed our quiet time.
We can't overemphasize how much we enjoyed staying here. We were seeking unplugged relaxation and quiet shared peace together and we found it. Beautiful cabin, thoughtfully conceived, genuine hominess. We thank the owner very much and hope to stay again soon. We also thank the previous guests for their helpful and accurate reviews. The power did go out once in the morning dark after heavy rains. We brought two cases of bottled water, but consider bringing a couple 5-gallon water cans as well for bathing, dishes, etc. LED lanterns are cheap and you will be glad you brought several if the power goes out in the dark. The K-cup machine works well, but bring instant coffee to cook over charcoal just in case. We rented a pontoon boat and fished every day. The lake is beautiful.
Cabin was very clean and cozy. Loved having he dock and being right on the lake, plus having a small yard to the side withe the fire pit and to play cornhole. Very peaceful and relaxing vacation!
This was our third trip to Nantahala and the first time we booked a waterfront property. We loved having a dock for swimming and also made use of the kayaks and canoes provided, as well as brought our own Hobie. There is a public boat launch on the opposite side of the lake if you want to bring your own boat. We appreciated there were two ways down to the dock, a lot of cabins on the lake only had one set of steep steps down but this also has a path winding down that was easier to take and carry our stuff. We appreciated the covered BBQ area and all the seating and firewood! Inside, the cabin was beautifully clean, appointed and decorated and we loved the porch (bring a hammock or two, there are hooks for four hammocks). There isn't a dishwasher, but we bonded over doing the dishes! We appreciated escaping the city for this beautiful location with the lake and mountain views. We would definitely book it again!
My husband and I so enjoyed our peaceful stay at your place! We spent a lot of time on the porch looking at the lake, kayaking, and enjoying the firepit. We will definitely be back!

Mountain-Lake Getaway
Loved the cabin layout. Nantahala Lake is beautiful. Renting a pontoon boat for the week was key. Great marina (Lakes End Marina).
This was a beautiful setting for our family vacation! The large screened porch was great for morning coffee with fantastic views of the Lake! My husband set up his office out there and worked in nature every morning. The grill area next to the house in a rustic lean to was great for my son to grill steaks & chops! We used the fire pit for relaxing down time every evening. We rented a pontoon for cruising around the lake and was able to tie it to the dock overnight. One of our best family vacations and would definitely rent the cabin again and for 3 adults we had plenty of room. The huge screened porch was the cherry on top! Communication with the owner was quick and responsive! Thanks, Joella
