Very clean spacious and comfortable family home.
Great views, quiet area.
Kids had a great time playing in the snow in the large front yard.
Will go again!
The cabin was a perfect place to stay for our multi-family gathering in Bend. The house has everything needed to cook and to gather! The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked. It's warm, clean, and cozy. Jackie is easy to communicate with. The location is great!
We stayed here when we came to town for Bend's Winter PrideFest. The cabin was close enough to Old Bend/downtown that we were able to come and go easily, but remote enough that we could rest well and feel connected to nature. We might just have to come back for Winte Pride 2024!
Our families from Idaho and Montana converged in Bend for our annual get together. The accommodations are a cabin in a quiet area and a true home away from home.
Well appointed and appropriate. The owners quick response to questions, needs, and care for our family stay was amazing.
Warmly,
Mountaineers Reunion

Amazing house secluded location with river view.
We loved everything about the house and property. Everything was provided for a relaxing stay. The huge hot tub was great after a day at Mt Bachelor. Beds were very comfy and the lodge like furniture would hardly let you get up to put another log on the fire. Multiple large TV's with cable and all amenities needed for a great stay. You cant go wrong choosing this property!!

Thanks so much! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay.
The house had 5 very comfortable rooms and we ended up only using 4 bedrooms as 2 family members didn’t make it. The beds And pillows were all Comfy and we slept well. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of plates, bowls, cups and utensils. Plenty of good size pots and pans to cook with since we ate all our meals in. We were welcomed with a basket of popcorn and Deschutes beer on the kitchen counter so thank you to our hosts! The deck was beautiful but a little chilly for us to use it over Christmas break so we would consider renting again maybe in the summer. The neighborhood was very quiet we would see deer every morning in the front yard. The hot tub was set at 104 but our kids said it was lukewarm so it probably needs adjustment. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay

Deschutes Home
This home is cozy but needs some upgrades. Underneath the deck is open with no safety lattice, and our dog got underneath and got sick. I negated this with the owner as I had to pay for a blood test for the dog , and there was no offer to help out. No idea what’s under the deck and he was exposed to…the pavers around the deck are not level and have the potential for someone to get hurt.
The house itself is well equipped; however we were charged for a “missing set of sheets”, which we did not take.
All in all for what we paid, this was a bit disappointing.

I'm very sorry to hear this and never happy to hear about a sick pup. Guest said she didn't know what happened with the dog and that the blood test came back clear. I'm not sure what happened with the sheets, as we were missing a set, but when the guest got upset about the charge, I told her to not worry about it and that we would absorb the $25 cost.

Nice house, pictures are misleading, neighbors are rude
At the start of our stay, I received a list of rules that are not on the actual listing at the time of this review. They weren't unreasonable but made clear they did not want any noise outside since "it is a working class neighborhood and that is why we do have the 10:00 quiet time rule." We came to Bend for a proposal, mountain biking, and local spots. The air quality was poor due to the fires (avoid Bend during fire season) which made us reluctant to spend time on the patio.
The 2nd night, we were grabbing gear from our vehicle ~5 minutes after 10pm when the neighbors yelled at us to shut up. These same neighbors have tiny dogs that sit outside and bark non-stop while we were in their line of sight while loading our bikes. The owner rules state to bring barking dogs inside but no issue if the neighbors bark. The next morning, we were greeted by three dachshunds from the property to the North charging off leash at our dogs who were by our side on this property while their owner yelled at them. These dogs continually ran into our yard while we were walking our dogs. It's also sad to see three horses confined in such a small area - seems a bit like animal cruelty to me. The back door had a leak, so on Saturday when it rained, we had water coming into the house.
Other items to be aware of at the time of our stay. The kitchen doesn't have a disposal, so be mindful with what you are cooking. The owners expect you to empty all the trash, start the laundry, and do all the dishes before you depart. You do not have river access from the property which on the map it looks like you might. The newly remodeled property floors creak and squeak, so hopefully some folks aren't up earlier than the others. The "Refrigerator - New with ice maker and cold water in the door" did not work. It stated coffee was included, it was not. The Keurig machine was missing the piece that funneled coffee into the mug so it would splash when using it. The two front bedrooms have sheer curtains that prevent you from changing and if a car drives by at night you will be hit with headlights. There is no closet in the third bedroom upstairs. Shared videos and photos with Vrbo to document.

Thanks for the feedback Michael. We do like to keep our house and what's in it in great condition, for both ourselves and our guests, so appreciate the feedback. Many of the comments we have not received, so we will definitely look into them and get them fixed. Unfortunately, the fridge ice/water just went out and wasn't able to get someone in to fix it prior to your visit.
I believe some of what you state is either in the listing or not, for specific reasons, like the rules that are in the listing, the 10:00 quiet time, no river access, etc. And, check out instructions are not usually in a listing, but I do believe they are pretty common among short term rentals.
I am sorry to hear about the neighbors dogs. Although, I do think it is common for dogs to bark at other dogs that they are not familiar with.
Lastly, in order to keep our house in nice condition, we do often change out bedding and furniture if things get broken or need to be refreshed. However, the majority of what is shown in the pictures is the same as what's in the house to date. For the few changes that have been needed, we do try to keep a consistent quality with what was shown and I get pictures updated as soon as we can.
The amzing view from the back patio was were everyone enjoyed their morning tea and coffee before heading to one of the many local activies. The two washers and dryers came in handy when we came back from hiking trips and trips to the river. Would definitely stay here again.
Your property fit us perfectly, with all the adults sleeping upstairs and kids down. There were a couple "cubby" areas that were really nice for breakout areas for different games and reading spots.
The cabin is comfortable, very well appointed, and the host Jackie goes above and beyond providing extra touches to make you feel like a cherished, welcome guest: From the basket of snacks, to the clear labels and instructions, to her timely, helpful and friendly correspondence. We loved sitting in the hot tub after a long ski day and look up into the tall pines. The kitchen has everything you need, the beds are comfortable, the the living room is cozy. Unfortunately the wood stove didn't work while we were there, but that would have been a perfect touch! The location is close to town for restaurants and shopping and not far from the mountain for adventures. We look forward to returning!
The place is absolutely amazing. Very comfortable, clean and spacious. The place is great for larger groups as there is a full kitchen and dining room. Would definitely recommend. Quiet and safe neighborhood.
This home on pictures it looks different then in real. The house is old and smells bad.
The spiders webs was almost in every corner.
I don’t think that it was sanitized before we arrived. It seems like the only thing they does , taking money from that house and from us. This house need a lots of work in side and out.
Hot tub not working as normal the water in hot tub no one changed for a long time (I’m not saying days I’m talking about years). The ground wire from hot tub loose not connect at all
Grill is dirty and it wasn’t enough gas to make some hot dogs on it .
Fire place broken there is some parts were laying
Make sure you read the agreement before you agree with it.
They are saying you rent this home AS IS that means no body cares about you just pay them money plus damage fee ???????
For that stuff you not take care of it , we paying damage fee ?????? Screw that service .
Under the beds trash some peace’s of carpets , wood .
You fired I don’t need your service anymore.
Do remodel, then offer it to people !

Honestly, all I can say is this review is ridiculous. This guest wanted money and because he didn't get it, this is how he is handling it. He demanded a large refund, for the hot tub jets not being strong enough for them. I had a service company come in the day after he left and they said they were working properly. This house is cleaned and sanitized very thoroughly after every guest.
We spent some time with our children and grandkids at this property. It was very comfortable and allowed the room for the kids to play outside. The large deck area was perfect.
Amazing cabin in the woods to celebrate New Years & an engagement with my family!
The house was cozy and a nice stay! We had 4 families (8 adults, 4 kids) we went skiing at Mt. Bachelor over New Years and also celebrated an engagement while we were here! The kitchen is of good size and there are several areas throughout the house/the tri-level that makes it feel spacious/several areas that we facilitated in. The hot tub was nice after long day of skiing! We enjoyed our stay and would consider this nice place next time we come back to Bend!

My husband, Doug, and I have two great boys and a sweet dog, Penny. We really enjoy the outdoors and being active and also like being close to town. We love Bend for this reason with the Deschutes River, Mt Bachelor, all of the lakes, hiking, good restaurants, brewpubs and friendly people.
Why they chose this property
Private, one acre, hot tub, remodeled house with dark wook cabinets, flooring, beds, deck, games and much, much more!!
What makes this property unique
Close to downtown, but private setting on one acre at south end of town via Brookwood Blvd. Ten minutes away with concerts all summer at the Les Schwab Amphitheater! Lots of mountain biking trails and hiking within minutes of the house. Winter is even more fun with some of the best snow around. Mt.Bachelor is just 30 minutes away without having to drive through town. You will find cross country skiing and snowmobiling all around the area!
