A great stay

A great stay, we had a small problem getting in as the code had changed but even though we called late in the evening someone was available to help us and we got in without much delay. A lovely place to stay, the pool and views of the gold course were amazing. As it was a bit cool and wet one one day we really appreciated the warm and light glass covered room at the rear of the house.

Villa is in an amazing location. It is large but rather tired. Mugs, glassware, towels need renewing. Air conditioning did not work in 2 of the upstairs bedrooms. The pool area was large and the pool was clean but some of the loungers were broken. We did have a nice stay and the cost was certainly fair. Marble staircase was stunning.

Would never stay in this villa again and have to question the authenticity of the reviews as it was most definitely NOT “10/10 Exceptional”. I could tell from the photos that the villa was old but was shocked by the overall standard of it! The pool area was good (despite some broken sunbeds), it was spacious and functional but in desperate need of a major uplift. I had to buy air freshener for the bedrooms as all cupboards smelt musty and one of the downstairs showers was rusty so we were not able to use it! (I have photographs of some of the worst areas). The main issue however was due to cockroaches which appeared in the downstairs bathrooms and kitchen/living room area each evening. Despite being told by the property management team that they had never had an issue with cockroaches previously, and taking measures to alleviate the problem we had at least 5 of them appearing each evening! As a result of this we did not feel comfortable staying in the villa during the evening so had to go out to eat and then dreaded returning knowing there would be more cockroaches present, and same again each morning! We then had to clean all kitchen surfaces as not sure where they had had been. This massively impacted our holiday and defeated the object of staying in the villa as we could not make full use of it! Overall I am hugely disappointed and will be seeking compensation as it most definitely was not worth the amount we paid!
