About this property
Casale Amati La Marchesa, ancient and fascinating oil mill between sea and hills.
Casale Amati, La Marchesa was born in an ideal geographical context, close to the sea, the Cinque Terre, Versilia, the Apuan Alps, the Carrara quarries, important historical cities such as Sarzana, Lerici, Lucca, Pietrasanta, Pisa, Florence. In 1300 d. C. there was already a water mill. A source of pure water allowed the movement of the heavy stone millstones and the gears used for the production of a fragrant oil produced with olives ripened in the sun on the surrounding hills. The Marquis Amati, owner of the oil mill and of the land, decided to live in this splendid place and began the expansion of the oil mill, the complete transformation into housing units by the Marquis's heirs took place in the second half of the 1900s. The renovation, done with love and respect for the original style and characteristics, wanted to preserve many of the unique and fascinating features, so much so that inside the structure you can still admire many of the peculiarities and ancient authentic furnishings. Outside, 7000 square meters of land surround Casale Amati, with vineyards, olive trees, fruit trees, walnuts and hazelnuts able to offer a quiet privacy and regenerate the spirit in a natural environment full of charm.
