Welcome to Catherine Cottage

Real Escapes Properties is proud to offer the Catherine Cottage of the Coast Cottages Community on St. Simons Island. This beautifully remodeled and re-decorated three bedroom, three bathroom Beach Cottage is located just a short stroll to the best beaches in the area. Coastal Cottages are in a very desirable location. You'll find charming southern architecture with wide, breezy streets. These elegantly appointed beach homes are surrounded by lush natural landscaping and brick-paved lanes.

A king-size bed with private en-suite with a tub/shower combination is located on the first floor. The second bedroom on the first floor has a twin bed with a trundle and a set of bunk beds. The 2nd bedroom also has an en-suite bath with a walk-in shower. There is a stackable washer/dryer located in the main hallway closet. When you arrive on the 2nd floor, you will be amazed at the open floor plan and high ceilings. The second floor features the den, dining area and kitchen as well as a King size bedroom with private en-suite featuring a walk-in shower. The dining area has room at the table for four and the kitchen bar has additional seating for 4. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for a great home cooked fresh seafood dinner or feel free to barbeque on the gas grill!

Afternoons can be spent on one of the two front porches - pick a swing or a chair and watch the sun set over the marsh! There is parking for two cars in front of the cottage. Outside the back door, there is a outdoor shower - conveniently located off the pathway (that leads to the community pool).

A short stroll from any of the cottages leads to a spectacular oceanside pavilion and pool facility unrivaled along the St. Simons Island shoreline. Enjoy biking, swimming, kayaking, shopping, or dining at one of St. Simons’ fabulous restaurants - all very close by!

The south pool is heated automatically by the HOA Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and from March 15 to April 15 for spring break.

• Starter Supply of Toilet Paper, Soap, Paper Towels and Trash Bag. Any additional supplies needed during tenancy will be the responsibility of the guest.

Adorable cottage perfect for our group

We loved this cottage for our meetup vacation with our 2 families. So cute! Pool was nice property amenity and location was next to the beach and easy to drive to downtown. Property manager answered our questions very fast & checkin girl was super friendly. The dryer didn’t really dry our clothes and stovetop range turned off a couple times but otherwise our stay was wonderful and we’d love to stay there again.

What an incredible surprise to walk in to the Meridian Cottage, much more beautiful than words or pictures can describe. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly from the property management company to the shop owners on the island to the guests staying in Coastal Cottages. Loved it and will be back next year :-)

We changed the a/c filter which probably hadn’t been changed in over a year and it got a bit better. Granted it was a very hot week, but the a/c had a hard time to keep the house below 80 during mid day. Overall it was a nice house close to the water.

The balconies are perfect for people watching, early am tea/coffee, evening cocktails, all while overlooking a view of the marsh! The house is adorable and well stocked with plenty of cooking utensils. Close to the village for easy access to shopping and restaurants. Love the beachy décor and sea fan theme. Make sure to rent bikes and enjoy touring the Island under the shaded canopy of the stunning Live Oaks and Spanish Moss!!

There were some issues: the dishwasher was broken so we had to hand wash everything (On our vacation! Boo). Then there was barely any dishwasher soap and no paper towels. The ice maker in the refrigerator wasn’t working either. I would rent here again but I would hope, for the price, we would have all the amenities. Also, it’s usually a courtesy to at least have some coffee on site. Needless to say, I had to run out to the grocery store twice unexpectedly. The management did respond quickly to our call to get us paper towels and dish soap.

This management company is truly top notch! Julie went above and beyond with her response to an issue with the house and really cared that we were having a great vacation. This small-town hands-on service delivers big and we hope to use them for all our trips. We have been coming to SSI every summer since 1994 and we will be back for many years to come. We have rented through just about every mgmt company over the years. The low deposit and flexibility and top notch service make them my favorite to do business with. As far as the property it fits for our current family situation perfectly... We have two adult children each w/a spouse but no children yet. The 3 King Beds is perfect! This area of St.Simons allows you to walk to the beach and Coast Cottages has a pool right at the board walk which is great..also there is a bathroom at the pool so very convienent, no need to go all the way back to your house. We could tell that the property had just sold since some details weren't as great as our last stay. Could really use some better pillows for the beds and some newer bath towels. We hear that the new owner will be sprucing everything up later this summer. It has a great kitchen - we love the refrigerator with the water bottle filler. It's a great house in a perfect location.

Meridian cottage is lovely and cozy...there is a bit of too big furniture in the dining area but we made it work. The design and furnishings were lovely. It took us a while to find the beach stuff under the house..there is a wagon, umbrella, boogie boards, a chair..wish we had known earlier. Glad we brought stuff with us as previous reviewers suggested...trash bags, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid for pots and pans, filtered water, coffee, etc. overall we loved it and would return.Meridian was at the end of the walk and very quiet which we appreciated..

Fantastic Spring Break Trip

We spent days at the beach and pools, and evenings on the second storey porch under the shade of the overhanging tree and overlooking the peaceful marsh.The home is perfectly situated along east beach, just a short walk to the pools and the boardwalk to the beach, and bike ride away from the shops and restaurants at St. Simons Pier. We rented bikes and virtually never had to drive anywhere on island for the week.The rental agents at Real Escapes were extremely helpful, and check-in/out was simple.It was an amazing week, and we're already planning our return next year!

Great location, could use a few improvements

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a great stay at Meridian Cottage. Great location near the Village and the beach, and the pool access was a huge plus. They don't provide some supplies that I feel should come standard with vacation rentals, such as small shampoo and conditioners and trash bags. There are also check out instructions to start a load of towels, but they do not supply laundry detergent. One of the dishwasher racks was broken so we had to rig it to run a load (they did provide dishwasher detergent). Lastly, cleanliness could have been better.Overall, the size, location, and amenities at this rental trumped the areas for improvement. I would recommend this property to a friend and would stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Meridian Cottage is a well-appointed cottage within walking distance to the beach and a bike ride near restaurants / shops. The home was comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. The home was cleaned, but could use some attention to detail; the top rack of dishwasher inoperable, the microwave wouldn't heat, only on beverage cycle for 10 seconds and there were lights out in bathroom sconces and ceiling. The downstairs A/C felt warm, so we took out the air filter which was in definite need of a change. (IMO, Items such as this should be taken care of between stays). Five of us stayed and having 3 beds / baths were great. Plenty of room to sit, actually the abundant of furniture in downstairs BR & LR is not needed. The community pool is within walking distance and so nice, and clean...and the beach beyond that. The two porches are a plus, if you can handle mosquitoes! :) Overall, I would stay here again. It's a great place for family / friends and a great community too! Some things just need a little attention to at the moment, that's all! Thanks so much! We had a great time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to St. Simons Island for 30 years and have stayed in several of the Coast Cottages. We love this location! I have stayed on the "main strip" of the Coast Cottages and this year we opted for the Meridian Cottage--why didn't we stay here sooner? Perfect! We loved the location! It is a quiet little road which is what we love. We walked to the beach every day and it wasn't a haul even with 2 babies. I have already booked our vacation for next year at the Meridian Cottage. There is more than enough room for everyone to have their space. Our children were able to have the downstairs for themselves and their babies while we enjoyed the upstairs bedroom which is massive and oh so comfortable. The front porch was delightful in the morning for coffee and in the evening when winding down. The only downside was the microwave. Apparently they know it isn't working properly because when we contacted the office about it they said we needed to add 1 minute to the cook time because it doesn't work until after 1 minute. There isn't a sign saying that or any indication that it isn't working properly so maybe the microwave needs to be replaced or at least let the renters know that there is a known issue. It would cut down on phone calls I am sure because I was told immediately that they knew it was an issue. Regardless, we are staying next year and cannot wait! Thank you for the beautiful vacation!! We still travel to SSI even though we have moved to Virginia so we can enjoy the Golden Isles of Georgia.

There is a Keurig as well as a coffee maker (we didn't use the Keurig), but would've if we'd known ahead of our visit. It is nicely updated, too.
