After a stroll along the Royal Crescent, a visit to the Jane Austen Centre or a Bridgerton-themed tour, how about retiring to your own Georgian mansion in Bath? A mile south of the city, Bloomfield House is just that – an elegant Grade II-listed building that can be yours for a few days, with complimentary continental breakfast included and the option of a chef as well. It’s what you might call self-catering plus! And incredibly stylish, too.
A comprehensive but sympathetic renovation has been completed and brings the house up-to-date while still honouring its age. As a result, you can gaze through the sash windows of the drawing room before watching a movie in the state-of-the-art cinema room downstairs, or you can pause on a bench in the landscaped grounds before heading for the hot tub. The dining room can comfortably seat 16 at the solid oak dining table.
You won't be bored at Bloomfield House, with entertainment for all the family, including a professionally kitted out cinema room, table tennis table and array of garden games. In the garden room you will find a newly installed arcade machine with 10,000 games! Why not hold your own 'casino night', our roulette/blackjack table with all accessories can be used for your entire stay for a small fee (£50 per stay).
There are nine bedrooms in Bloomfield House, each with its own bathroom, and it comfortably sleeps up to 16 adults in individually styled king/double rooms. The best of these are the two master suites on the first floor, each of which has a free-standing stone bath as well as a walk-in shower, a Smart TV or projector, and a walk-in wardrobe or dressing table – not to mention, magnificent views.
This floor is also home to the kids’ bedroom where six can sleep in built-in bunk beds - a child's dream! The garden is beautifully landscaped and includes a heated garden room with decking area, outdoor kitchen and a hot tub, which has its own changing room.
If you want it, a continental breakfast can be on the table when you wake up. The service is discreet, and included in the cost, and helps you make the most of your stay by giving you more time to explore the city – which, is just a 20-minute downhill walk away.
Perfect for family get togethers, city break weekends with friends or corporate events. Why not visit during December to enjoy the famous Bath Christmas markets (check dates) or check out one of the other many festivals that Bath puts on throughout the year.
