A Unique, Family-Friendly Underground Escape in the Heart of Rural Mid Wales
Looking for a one-of-a-kind getaway that the whole family—including the dog—can enjoy? Look no further than Honeybee Home, a quirky and charming underground retreat nestled in the peaceful countryside of Mid Wales.
Sleeping up to 2 adults & 2 children (with space for an additional child if needed), this pet-friendly haven offers comfort, character, and a truly unforgettable experience. Begin your stay with a stroll through a tunnel adorned with a vibrant mural—see if you can spot any familiar faces as you pass through! Follow the winding path to your private hideaway surrounded by green fields, rolling hills, and friendly animals in nearby paddocks.
Inside, you'll find a bright and welcoming open plan kitchen & dining area, complete with cheerful yellow units, a fully equipped kitchen, and a breakfast bar—perfect for morning cereal or evening bubbles. The modern family bathroom includes a dual sink vanity, spacious shower, illuminated mirror, and heated towel rail.
Step down into the cosy living area, where a large corner sofa invites you to relax after a day of exploring. A collection of board games and children's books ensures entertainment for the little ones while you unwind.
Further below, the children's bedroom (with restricted height) features fun and colourful twin beds that can be converted into a large single bed, ideal for accommodating an extra guest. Above, the master bedroom offers a plush king-size bed and a unique spherical window framing views of the surrounding countryside—a serene spot to wake up refreshed.
Outside, Honeybee Home truly shines. Enjoy the wood-fired hot tub (available for an additional charge), relax around the fire pit, or simply take in the stunning scenery from your private outdoor seating area.
Whether you're after peace and privacy or eager to explore the Welsh outdoors, Honeybee Home is perfectly placed. Discover scenic walks from your doorstep or venture just ten miles to the historic town of Oswestry, where castles, cycling trails, and family attractions await.
Please note: as Honeybee Home is located on a working livestock farm, pets are welcome but must be kept on a lead when outside.

Amazing stay

Just got back from a lovely stay at honeybee home. Everything was absolutely perfect, so happy with the accommodation, and the alpacas and surroundings just made it extra special and a unique experience. The hobit home has everything you need, well equipped kitchen, board games, bbq and kids enjoyed the swing ball outside. We will definitely be back! We had lovely days out at Blists Hill Village and Park Hall farm with the kids (ages 4 and 7). Thanks again Claire!

Beautiful hobbit hole

We had a really enjoyable stay at the hobbit hole. The location was beautiful. Really peaceful area and loved seeing the alpacas. The hot tub was great as well - top tip don't overheat the fire too much - if you think it might not be hot enough get in and check as it probably is! We loved that everything you needed was there and especially enjoyed having an air fryer to use! Loved it and would definitely book again. Claire was really helpful and we loved the Victoria sponge from Claires mother in law! Thanks for a lovely stay for our 15 yr anniversary.

Fabulous!

We absolutely loved this property! The house is colourful and quirky with a bee theme throughout. It was spotless, warm and super cosy. Whilst small, it made great use of the available space. We felt there was plenty of room for myself, my teenage daughter and our cairn terrier and it didn't feel cramped at all. My daughter loved the underground twin bedroom, she was really comfortable in there. The bathroom was a good size, with double basins and a very nice walk in shower and the kitchen area was spacious and kitted out with everything you could need for a self-catering break. Claire, the owner was really friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. She also left the most delicious, homemade Victoria sponge for our arrival. We also booked the hot tub for our weekend which we very much enjoyed using on the Saturday night. There were plenty of logs available for its wood fired stove so the water heated to the perfect temperature. The outside space is great, really liked the garden room near the hot tub (with loo which is really useful!) and there's a lovely patio area with lots of seating (although in January we weren't really able to make the most of that!). We also got to meet and feed some alpaca neighbours much to the delight of my daughter who loved them. The location is also great, it's close to the A483 so it's easy to get out to explore the local area. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and would definitely stay again.
