Our extended family of 13 stayed here for the 4th of July week. The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults/7 kids. Spacious, well-maintained, incredible indoor and outdoor spaces - something for everyone! The creek was a lot of fun for everyone, porches were perfect for morning coffee and evening conversations. Caroline was very responsive and helpful. Location was great - several things within walking distance, and lots of great hiking/swimming/recreation spots within a short drive. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t just move in permanently :-) The whole family is already talking about a return visit!
I could go on and on, but I will sum it up with this property is amazing. The pictures are beautiful, but it's nothing like seeing it in person. We can't stop talking about it and will definitely be returning.
Miss Caroline's house is in a great spot on Jonathan Creek walkable to part of the town's main street. The house is very spacious and good for families with kids. Everything was very comfortable. I only gave 3 stars for cleanliness because the kitchen cabinets need a thorough cleaning with updated utensils and pans. The property could also use some new bathroom towels. Other than that, the setting is very calming with the waterfall and lovely yard. The back porch was ideal.
My family and I stayed at this beautiful home for the better part of a week on our summer vacation, and it did NOT disappoint! Everything about it, from the gorgeous views, to the fabulous amenities, was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here as a family, and loved having such a stunning place established as our “home base”, to relax and unwind. Caroline was an excellent host, and very quick to respond to any of our questions—we even got to hear about her and her husband’s adventures in prepping the area to build this fabulous house. Do yourself a favor and stay here! Your only regret will be having to leave upon checkout! We definitely want to come back someday!

Grounds are nice, but house needs a lot of TLC.
I would not rent this house again. We usually pay a little more for a house at Lake Junaluska, but it was unavailable so we rented this. The inside pictures of the house are deceiving and since it was built in 2004 ,it appears very little upkeep has occurred. We arrived to find dishes in the dishwasher The baseboards are nasty and many are rotten, especially in bathrooms. Bathroom fans are filthy. Toilets and seats need replacing. Towels are old and need to be replaced Many look like they need to be washed in clorox. There are no hand towels except one upstairs. There was an empty hand soap bottle in the half bath. We killed a roach and several black ants in the bath area. The beds have no box springs, and only a mattress and topper on bed slats-fitted sheets will not stay on!!! This was probably a nice house when built, but now outside boards and window frames are beginning to rot and have green algae on those in the shade. They advertise outside grills, but we found no propane tanks attached to either and the grill cooking grate is so rusty. Both porches need pressure washing. The double garage with TV, sofa, foosball, pingpong, etc. reeks of mold and we spent no vacay time there!
Property was everything stated in the online description. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Caroline was extremely helpful with any questions and requests. The home was in a very desirable location. We were able to observe birds, rabbits, ducks, and other wildlife during our stay. My son and granddaughter went fishing in the creek that is in the front of the property and my son was able to catch a rainbow trout. There are many varieties of trees and flowers on the property and the dogwoods and rhodedendrons were in bloom. We will definitely be back at a future date. Do not hesitate to rent this wonderful listing. Thank you Caroline for everything.
The Willow House is breathtaking to say the least. From the covered bridge leading to the driveway to the water features in the front and back. The garage was excellent for entertaining when the rest of the house wanted peace and quiet. We look forward to booking here regularly!
We stayed over the Christmas holiday - house was beautifully decorated - lots of trees throughout. Large home to accommodate family meals and fun. We enjoyed the pool table - the garage is not heated, it just so happened to be below freezing that weekend so we didnt get to use it at all nor the back porch area. Everything you need in the house and just off the main road close to anything you would need. Owners were responsive to any questions we had.
Fantastic creek side home in the heart of Maggie Valley
This is a beautiful and spacious property for our family of 11 (6 adults and 5 kids). The outside area is beautiful. We enjoyed tubing down the creek in front of the home. We also utilized cornhole, ping pong, foosball, and the black Jack table. We met the owner when we had a hard time getting the outdoor bistro lights to work. They came over right away on a Friday evening to help fix the issue. This was a great place to stay!
This was the perfect property for a family gathering to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The house is beautiful and spacious. There are two waterfalls outside & a creek (tubing was enjoyed by all). One family member had to work on Zoom & his clients thoroughly enjoyed the background views. Foosball, ping pong, & cornhole were also big hits. The pool table is another nice touch & the washer & dryer were helpful. The location near a main road make it easy to travel to local sites & events.
Our entire family with all the grands enjoyed this beautiful home. It was within 5 miles of Chattalooche ski resort which made it an ideal location. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful and we had 10 inches of snow! But not to worry! We had the most beautiful fireplace to sit around and drink our coffee. Found everything we needed in the kitchen to cook every single meal for a group of 12. Best vacation ever!
We choose this house for our family Christmas celebration. The house did not disappoint. There were 9 total. 3 teenagers and 6 adults. We had plenty of space to spread out and kitchen/ dining area was ample. We were even able to take advantage of the out door grilling/dining area due to weather being warmer for December. The water features made the setting very tranquil. We were all very satisfied.
THE HOME AND GROUNDS WERE BEAUTIFUL! IF YOU GO THE TEENS LOVED THE MAN CAVE! IT WAS LITTLE TO COLD FOR THEM TO HANGOUT IN THERE TO LONG BUT THEY LOVED IT! THE INSIDE WAS ALREADY DECORATED FOR CHRISTMAS AND WE LOVED IT, THE TREES AND DECORATIONS WERE BEAUTIFUL. THE KITCHEN WAS AMPLY SUPPLIED WITH DISHES, POT AND PANS AND OTHER SUPPLIES. WHICH WE LOVED BECAUSE WE COOKED SOMETHING ALMOST EVERYDAY. MY SON LOVES TO COOK. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS VENUE TO ANYONE. I DID NOT GET TO MEET CAROLINE PERSONALLY BUT SHE WAS AS CLOSE AS THE TELEPHONE.
The setting for this property is beautiful! We loved the waterfall features and the garden areas..
We were very comfortable in this house. Our group of six adults found everything we needed for a comfortable stay inside the house. Additional seating outside on the porches would have improved our stay, as we all enjoy porch sitting. The inside of the house is dark, so additional lighting in the great room area would be helpful. The kitchen area was great! We loved everything about that. The bedrooms and baths were also great. We had problems figuring out which light switches went with which inside and outside lights, so labeling those would be super helpful. The most beautiful part of this property is outside, where the waterfalls, beautiful garden plants, and creek make for a wonderful view! The number of outdoor activity games is also great, along with the pool table, which our guys enjoyed. The host was so very nice when I spoke with her! We would certainly stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay in Maggie Valley. This property worked well for our group which included four adults, two teenagers, two tweens, and a preschooler. It was a good central location for things we wanted to do - most activities were located within 1/2 hour of the house (including Asheville). There is a large master bedroom and bath downstairs and then another bedroom with a private bathroom upstairs. Since we had two sets of parents, this worked well. The kids enjoyed the pool table, ping pong table, and foosball table. Ample space for everyone to sit and relax. Beautiful front and back porches. Lovely fireplace. If you are looking for a get-a-way from it all location, know that this home is situated less than 1/4 mile from the main drag of the town and there are other homes lining the short road to the home. We still felt fairly secluded, but something to consider depending on what type of vacation you desire. Maggie Valley seems to be a big weekend location - it was PACKED the Saturday we arrived, but then cleared out during the week. Two large grocery stores within 15 minutes of the home. Owner lives very close and addressed the questions we had quite quickly.
If you're viewing this property and considering staying here, I highly recommend treating yourself and staying here. The home, the property, and the area are all perfect.
This property was exactly as described. Our family of 12, including ages from 2 to 82 and we had plenty of space. We enjoyed several meals at the house and spent quality family time together. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Our favorite spot was the back porch with plenty of space for us all to sit. The owners were wonderful to work with and the property was convenient to access. There were lots of games and entertainment options for all ages. The only regret was that we could not stay longer.
This is probably the nicest house I’ve ever rented! Definitely the height of luxury, with beauty from every angle. Even the beds upstairs in the large communal bedroom were super comfortable. The fire pit is excellent, and the porch and patio area on the back side is so idyllic. The garage has a ton of awesome games which we definitely enjoyed! There is plenty of space to spread out! If you are looking for privacy, this is not your place, as there are many other houses near and around, the willow house and social barn is right next door, and the owner lives right above the property. But the owner was very accommodating, and we are very appreciative to her for a lovely stay.
My sisters and I brought our families to stay for our cousins wedding at the nearby distillery. This property was exactly as described, and as pictured. Not a thing I would've changed about the house- it is beautiful!! Excellent check in and out process. Everyone loved our stay. We will be back without a doubt!

About the host
Hosted by Caroline Edwards
My husband and I built this home in 2004. We raised our 3 children here. My husband is a Maggie Valley native. We met as students of Western Carolina University in the 80's! I grew up in Monroe, NC but made Maggie Valley my home in 1988. We started an excavation company after college. I drove a dump truck and he operated the machines. In 1995, we had the opportunity to start a wedding chapel. This was the beginning of Miss Caroline's Wedding Chapel in Maggie Valley. It's actually located at the entrance of the drive that takes you to The Willow House. We added honeymoon cabins as the business grew. Now that our baby is 21, we decided to downsize and thought it would be great to share our property with families. We have constructed a barn on the property for events. This is available for an additional fee if you're planning a wedding or family get together. The property is so convenient being situated in the valley yet such an oasis. You can relax by the waterfalls, fly fish in the creek, play corn hole in the yard, etc. We want you to come and enjoy our home as we did for 13 years. It's a very special place!
