About this property
On the Beach - The Lower Annex
Situated in the grounds of Carraig Cnoc House, this completely refurbished apartment is perfect for that special getaway. With two double bedrooms (beds can be configured as twins or double), kitchen diner with dishwasher, TV, and wifi, the Lower Annex is perfect for four friends or family to spend a special time together.
Walk along the gravel path and step down to one of the loveliest beaches in Ireland, or take Yoga lessons or a Sauna (small booking fee on request) and go for a swim after.
The space
The property was completely refurbished in July 2024 and boasts a setting that is quite unique in Donegal.
Set on the grounds of Carraig Cnoc House, which has seen artists, writers, musicians, comedians and politicians stay over the years, the space is at once private, peaceful, beautiful and magical.
There are two bedrooms, and the hotel-style beds can be configured as twin or double (just let me know in advance). A brand new kitchen diner has a dishwasher, electric oven, TV, and wifi.
Outside is a private gravel patio/dining area, which is a suntrap on nice days, and from there, you walk directly along the gravel path and down to a lovely, secluded beach.
The property is unique in that you can see the sea from every room, and on most days, you can see the dolphins and the odd seal. Birds are abundant from our neighbourly heron, the whizzing house martins, gulls, oystercatchers, terns and cormorants.
Experience the magic of the place and take trips up to the lighthouse and stunning beach at Inishowen Head or maybe a round of golf at the local golf links.
here's something for everyone, and we know you will love your stay
Guest access
Parking is to the side of the main house.
The gravel patio is reserved for you and any guests who may be in the lower apartment.
Walk along the gravel path to the beach, which is secluded but open to the public.
Please do not walk in front of or around the main house.
There is strictly no access to the large rock overlooking the sea for health and safety reasons.
Other things to note
The beach is right on your doorstep, accessed by a short path. It is a beautiful beach and great for swimming but there are no lifeguards so all children must be accompanied.
