The Den - Small but cosy apartment in the Dales.
The Den is a small modern flat, recently refurbished, within the Coach House of Eastfield Lodge a large 8 bedroom Victorian house which accommodates groups. The Den is ideal for a couple, or a couple with young children wishing to have a self-catering base in the Dales. The double room is small but cosy. We are happy for two small children to stay on a sofabed in the lounge or one adult. The Den is accessed via an external staircase.
Just 300 m from the picturesque market square of Leyburn, the Den is ideally situated for exploring one of England’s prettiest rural landscapes. From our doorstep, you can venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park with numerous walking and cycling opportunities, a host of charming villages and places of interest. We welcome dogs to the Den, however make a charge of £15 per day per dog.
300m from the picturesque market square of Leyburn, the Lodge is ideally situated for exploring one of England’s prettiest rural landscapes. From our doorstep, you can venture into the Yorkshire Dales National Park with numerous walking and cycling opportunities, a host of charming villages and places of interest. We are open all year round to welcome families, friends and groups who wish to book the whole house for their exclusive use. With its spacious rooms and communal areas, the house is ideal for larger get-togethers. The house has an enviable location and classic views. Leyburn, is the principal town of Wensleydale with its independent shops, tearooms and pubs – and yet, within 5 minutes of the house, you can be in glorious landscapes. You can start walks from the door or take short picturesque drives to trailheads in gems like Swaledale, Coverdale or Arkengarthdale. It’s also a 5 minute walk to the Wensleydale Tourist Railway for step-back-in-time access to the heart of the National Park. Increasingly, the Lodge is being used to host Corporate Stays.
Book online for the best deals. The house can booked for up to 16 online, but can actually accommodate up to 20 using extra divans and campbeds. If you wish to add additional guests please mention this in the notes or contact us directly so they can be applied to the booking. Self-check-in instructions are sent out a day or two before arrival. There is a wealth of information on walks and places of interest. Please note, up to 4 dogs are allowed at a cost of GBP 15 per day per dog and subject to agreement of our Dog Policy.

There are many historic buildings to visit such as, Jervaulx Abbey, Middleham Castle, Bolton Castle and only 20 minutes drive away are the spectacular Asygarth Falls. 40 minutes away is Hawes, home to the famous Wensleydale Cheese Factory. There is so much to do and see in all weather conditions to ensure your family has a truly memorable holiday.
