A beautiful cottage for some R&R
We had a wonderful stay at Ames Cottage. The location is fantastic for all the area has to offer and the cottage itself is everything we expected from the description and photos. Would definitely recommend and will (hopefully) be back.

Great location and stay close to the coast!
Good location, close to the coast and easy access throughout the new forest. Cute cottage with good faculties, enjoyed your stay! Only improvement, a deeper clean. There was a lot of webs around and dead spiders which have likely been there for weeks. Outside of that, good value for money and good customer service.

My favourite getaways
Absolutely cherish staying in the Hinton properties, Ames being one of my favourites. The seclusion and quiet is the best therapy, whilst still being a short drive away from the beach or towns and villages. Surrounded by new forest you can’t ask for more

Peaceful
The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and clean. The garden was secure for our two dogs and the location was very peaceful.
Lovely cottage full of character, fully fenced garden so ideal for dogs. Only issue was that the only toilet is downstairs so night time visits are interesting. We would highly recommend.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
This was our fourth stay at Ames Cottage. Reviews about location, large garden etc. hold but we feel the quality and cleanliness of the accommodation has worsened and needs addressing. Our stay was not helped by the presence of a stray cat in the garden. It took Hinton Escapes 2 working days to resolve the problem.

Our favourite place in the New Forest
This cottage gives us everything we need for a holiday in this area. It’s quiet and peaceful with the occasional deer at the bottom of the garden. The enclosed large garden is perfect for our two dogs. The interior is well designed and very clean and tidy. My one wish is that it had a dishwasher but that wouldn’t stop me coming back which we definitely will be. Love it !

Super little cottage on the edge of the New Forest
The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a short break in the New Forest. The Colin Nash restaurant was a short walk away with delicious food and staff were very welcoming. We also had a lovely meal at The Rising Sun, a short drive away. There was storage for our bikes. The garden was fully enclosed and our dog was more than happy exploring. The only niggle was the noise of the fridge - an annoying beeping sound, you could hear sitting in the lounge.
