About this property

3 Bed in Whitby (oc-w454)

A characterful, stone cottage with a leafy courtyard garden, nestled along a hidden lane in the Georgian town of Whitby on the rugged Yorkshire coast. Brimming with nautical charm, this delightful property is the ideal stay for families or groups of friends and their canine companion. This compact property provides everything you need for a relaxing holiday by the sea. At low tide, fill your lungs with fresh ocean air as you embark on a pleasant amble along the coastal route from Whitby to Sandsend (3 miles), then relax with al fresco refreshments in the courtyard.

This thoughtfully styled property boasts a cheery cottage interior with cool grey and soft blue tones, rustic exposed beams, and cosy furnishings. Venture along the paved pathway adorned with potted plants then step inside. Step down into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and prepare a spot of afternoon tea or whip up a simple supper. Fold out the dining table to enjoy a family feast or choose to eat out at one of a wide variety of local eating places. In winter months, curl up on the comfy sofa and enjoy the warmth of the real coal effect electric fire. Rest up in the three inviting bedrooms upstairs, consisting of a bright twin, a double, and an airy single – each with elegant wrought iron bed frames. Early risers can sip their morning coffee from the tranquil courtyard while planning out the day's adventures.

Keen historians will be in their element scoping out the gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey (200 metres). Peruse the selection of boutiques and independent cafes nestled along the cobbled streets of Whitby (within 100 metres) or fossil hunt on the rugged shores of Robin Hood’s Bay (5 miles).

Great location

we loved the cottage and its location. Bakery, pubs, restaurants all great on Church street. Would be better to explain parking before arrival and have a better map of the parking streets, but apart from that we thought it was excellent and will definitely stay here again.
