About this property
Beautiful historic home in downtown Albuquerque
Historic 1918 home in downtown Albuquerque, NM. Beautifully furnished with midcentury modern furniture, maple hardwood floors, large area rugs. The kitchen was remodeled with Ikea cabinets 6 years ago. Modern appliances with the exception of a beautiful and functional Chambers gas stove in the kitchen. Bright and sunny, large living room, sunroom with TV, dining room and master suite upstairs. The fireplace with marble hearth and the many windows give this home its charm.
This beautiful house was our family home for 41 years. It was built in 1918 so it is over 100 years old. We have moved to a new home in the downtown neighborhood now that our children are grown. Downtown Albuquerque is home to many fun activities. If you like to walk short to medium distances you will have pedestrian access to our burgeoning craft brewing industry with taprooms and restaurants, art galleries, concert venues, Old Town, ABQ Convention Center, the Zoo, Botanical Gardens and aquarium. There are museums and bike trails all within walking distance. The University of New Mexico and several hospitals are close by: a 10 minute drive.
Guest access
This house is completely furnished as you can see from the photos. There is a flat screen TV and washer and dryer. There is a full complement of china and flatware, serving and baking dishes, glasses, pots, pans and cooking utensils. There is a microwave, toaster oven, drip coffee maker, Cuisinart and Ninja blender. The bed linens and towels are very luxurious and comfortable. Both bathrooms now contain a shower. There is a bathtub in the downstairs bathroom. There are a barbecue, deck, and tables and chairs in the back yard.

About the host
Hosted by Laura Daby
Jon and I have lived in the downtown Albuquerque area for the past 40 years. We chose to live in this neighborhood because of how green and beautiful it is. Jon grew up in Illinois and the huge trees reminded him of home. I was a high school history teacher for 38 years but recently retired. Jon is an architect with his own firm. We are avid Master's Team swimmers at the University of New Mexico. We belong to several gyms for different focuses and we walk all around our neighborhood to buy groceries, eat out, go to the movies and go to cultural events.
