We’re glad you found the unit well-maintained, Alexandra, and that the peaceful setting contributed to a comfortable stay and appreciate our communication. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we'd be happy to welcome you back anytime!
Everything about the unit was fine, the ceilings are a lot lower than they look in the pictures. Nothing that you would need to crouch for, but I definitely could touch the door frames with my hair just walking through them. The shower head was very weak and had no pressure. The water went straight down and hit the shower handle, making it a little difficult to shower.

We’re glad the overall stay was positive, Richard.
For clarity, the ceiling height is slightly above standard building code requirements, though we understand how perspective can differ from person to person. Regarding the shower, we’re sorry it didn’t meet expectations. We didn’t receive any notice during your stay, but we would have been more than happy to send our team right away to address this, as guest comfort is always a priority. We’ll also take a look to ensure everything is functioning as it should. We appreciate your input and hope to have the opportunity to host you again.
Great stay. Pictures and descriptions were accurate. Communication with host was timely and organized. Will consider this property again if in the area.
We had a great stay here and enjoyed exploring the area! The bed was super comfy. Decor is a little different from the listing but not in a bad way! Very clean and modern

Cozy Place in Brookline
We really enjoyed our stay in Brookline. It was convenient for going to the Red Sox game and we really liked some of the little touches that were added to the unit. We particularly appreciated the complimentary snack basket. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable for a fold out bed. We’d recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay in Boston.

Thank you for the nice review Jennifer. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay! We would love to host you again!
We've stayed in this vrbo twice now for trips to Boston. It's clean, good location, and manager/owner makes the entry easy. it's about a 10 min walk to a T stop on the Green D line. There are a handful of restaurants nearby. For Boston, reasonable pricing. Would recommend. Shannon

We're delighted that you've had enjoyable stays with us, Shannon! Our convenient proximity to Back Bay and the seamless entry process are features we're proud of. It's wonderful to hear that you found the place clean and reasonably priced. Thank you for your recommendation, and we look forward to hosting you again!
The bed and pillows were wonderful! We had a little problem with the lock box but finally figured out how to close it. And the toilet "rocked" but was still useable. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Sue

Affordable apt in Boston
Clean affordable apt only walking distance to metro train. Everything was as shown in advertisement. Nice neighborhood, quiet street, overall good experience. Only complaint was the WiFi was very slow.

Thank you for the nice review Tracy, it was a pleasure hosting you.
We loved the location of this property, safe neighborhood and walk to the metro. We also appreciated the quick and responsive communication with the owner. The internet was spotty at times and the apartment itself was older without central heating and air. We were thankful for the parking stall option in the city.
A basement apartment is basement apartment but it is in a wonderful location. Kama was VERY responsive. I was there for medical reasons and so I can hardly speak like a regular guest qua tourist. Kitchen was great. I would leave tenants with more cleaning products and some rags etc for purposes of making it easier to keep apartment clean while they are renting.. I would also clear/snake the bathtub pipes: small additions. Basically it was a perfect place to recover from major surgery, quiet, easy access to Boston, safe feeling, good neighbours. It was very clean when we arrived, welcome packet was great, Kama was definitely a super host. Spiffing up back entrance and other remark's above would be improvements. But it suited our purposes perfectly.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review, Kareen. We’re genuinely glad the apartment provided a quiet, safe-feeling place to land during your recovery, and that the location and layout made things easier during an important period.
It’s great to hear the kitchen, cleanliness on arrival, and welcome materials helped you settle in comfortably, and we truly appreciate your kind words about Kama’s responsiveness. The unit is thoroughly prepared before each arrival, and if anything like drainage or small maintenance items ever comes up during a stay, we’re always able to address it promptly when notified.
We also appreciate your suggestions around convenience items and the back entrance—feedback like this is helpful as we continue refining the experience. We’re pleased the apartment suited your needs so well, and we wish you continued healing.
Our nephew graduated from Boston College and the property was very conveniently located for this event. Their are lots of family owned restaurants and beautiful parks located nearby. The property was clean and lots of helpful amenities such as an umbrella! The communication with the property managers was exceptional. We had an issue with our parking spot but they kept us informed and got the issue resolved.
Really enjoyable experience and property. Thanks!
Easy on and off for train. Location of property was a plus.
It had your own kitchen, which was nice, bed was very comfortable, the ceilings were a little low, and the place was a little outdated( bathroom). Kama Cicero was awesome! Boston is not a place to go on vacation unless you know where you are going. Overall it was something new for the wife and I. We did enjoy ourselves visiting our friends from Maine. This was the 1st VRBO we ever tried. Thank You!

We're so glad your first VRBO and your trip to Boston were such a success! We'd love to host you again - there's always more to see and explore!
This is a home in a safe neighborhood, close to pretty much everything. There was everything you would need for either a short or lengthier stay. We had a tad too much heat at first, but after contacting the host, figured that out. The host/property managers were very prompt at response to correspondence. Clarification on the entry key situation might be helpful. What might be a nice gesture is if you leave the property the same or better than you found it, some sort of refund would be offered.

We're delighted you appreciated the location, safety, and amenities, Linda. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the unexpected heat issue. We take great care in maintaining our property and addressing any issues swiftly to ensure our guests' comfort.
Regarding the entry key situation, historically, guests have found our instructions to be comprehensive and straightforward. However, we truly wish you'd reached out to us upon encountering any uncertainties. Our team is always on standby to assist guests, as it’s our utmost pleasure to provide personal guidance and clarification whenever needed. Stay well.
This apartment was cute and functional. It was close to Jamaica Pond and the reservoir park. The supplies for bathroom and kitchen were very adequate, would’ve been nice to have salt and pepper though. The host was easy to reach and communicated well. The downside was the low ceilings ( half underground apartment), the toilet moves when someone sits on it, and the phone/WiFi is very spotty. Also the microwave makes crazy noises when in use and the back door from the outside is very difficult to get into with the key.

Thank you that you found our unit cozy and utilitarian. We strive to host our guests with warmth, thus, provided are the basic necessities like bathroom essentials, welcome snacks, and drinks as complimentary! Indeed, it's near to Jamaica Pond and reservoir park. Hope you enjoyed visiting there! 😊 We're happy that you felt we were responsive. Somehow, we do mention quite clearly that it is a garden-level apartment. We haven’t been an issue with phone reception from other guests, but we’re sorry to hear that was the case with your provider. In case you choose to stay with us again, please feel free to contact us about your Wi-Fi, key, or any concern, we would gladly assist you.
Positives: This apartment is close to Jamaica Pond and within walking distance to many good spots in Brookline as well as the T. The property manager was very easy to communicate with. The apartment was very clean and had a functional, though dated kitchen. Parking is available for an extra $10 fee per day. Negatives: Internet didn't work for a while, but the property manager worked on fixing that successfully. Phone reception in this garden-level apartment was very spotty. Laundry was more complicated than the instructions implied.

If you stay with us again, please reach out if you ever have questions about how to use laundry or anything of that nature as we’re always here to assist you! See you next time, Dawn!

Was hoping for quality
As wonderful as the pre communication was with the rental company, I was hoping to provide a glowing review. Sadly, that is not the case. The easiest way now is to list the Pros/Cons.
Pros
Great communication w/rental agent
Great location
Nicely decorated
Loved the table & chairs in the living room
Bed-very comfortable king
Plenty of hangars
Extra blanket/comforter
Bathroom supplies, thoughtful
Cons
Rooms are darker than photos
Very low ceilings into kitchen, bedroom
Wires strung from TV across & up the wall
OLD condo with very difficult doors to open (both front door to building & door to condo)
Misleading VRBO listing saying washer/dryer & NOT explaining that it is NOT inside the unit but instead is 2 doors down the block & you have to pay
Welcome book has broken apart
Much needed repair & cleaning - to fill holes, fix broken bathroom tile, heating elements along the floor
Microwave makes a grinding sound when in use
Could use wifi on iPhone & iPad but not available with Apple TV
No usable electrical outlet in the bathroom - the storage rack is blocking it
Bathroom ceiling has mold
No fan in bathroom to take steam out from shower
Rug in bath looks very old & in need of washing

Wow - we appreciate your feedback. We're very sorry you clearly did not enjoy your stay much!
it wasn't a stay without problems, check in went as it was described, then the first surprise. The heat wasn't working, so we got in touch with the property manager, we were going out to meet up with our daughter and were gone about 4 hours, buy the time we got back to the unit, the heat was working and the apartment was warm. We had a good nights sleep and crashed quickly, got up bright and early the next morning showered and got dressed that is when I discovered that the drain in the tub was clogged and not draining, we were going out for the day and alerted the property manager again about the problem told them we were making a day trip and they had the whole day for someone to deal with clog. Got back to the apartment after 9 hours and the tub was drained, but just in case while we were out, we pick a bottle of drain cleaner to throw down the drain to try and clear it out. Although draining it was still very slow dumped the cleaner down the drain and checked it 3 hours later, seems to have help at least now we could see the water draining out. The property management team was responsive and seemed to get the job done. We only were there 2 days and just needed a place to hang out hats for a short while, sure it wasn't perfect but it was OK, clean and near where we wanted to be, It is an older property, and being 6'3" a couple of the doorways were short, so a head bump was going to happen if I wasn't careful. Internet was slow, if 500 meg it was broken,

Thank you for your feedback, John. We’re glad the apartment’s location and cleanliness worked for your short two-night stay. That said, several of your claims don’t align with the facts.
Regarding the heating, it’s important to clarify that while we maintain the unit itself, we do not own or manage the entire apartment complex. Once you reported the issue, we called the proper property contact (not the unrelated party you mentioned) and their own technician adjusted the system to kick in at a slightly more reasonable temperature within the hour after our outreach. By the time you returned a few hours later, the heat was working at a comfortable level. To suggest you went without heat is inaccurate.
As for the bathroom drain, our cleaners noted perfectly normal drainage during their pre-check before your arrival. You mentioned later that you poured chemical drain cleaner into the tub (quite a strange thing to both suddenly purchase and use) before our team could even get there. Unsurprisingly, it had no effect. When our maintenance staff arrived, they snaked the line, removed what was clearly fresh material, and restored proper flow. That is what resolved the issue - not the unnecessary chemicals you dumped in, which is not something we would have wanted used.
Finally, quirks like lower doorway height (nothing particularly out of the ordinary) are part of the historic character of this building, and shown openly in the listing photos. Guests before and after you had no issues with heating, drainage, or internet (we can neither check nor resolve any internet issue if it is not communicated to us during the stay).
We regret that you chose to present promptly resolved items and standard features as "serious problems." The reality is that the apartment was functional, serviced quickly when contacted, and delivered as described. Stay well.

College Visits
This little unit did what we needed it to in a pinch. We were in town for several different campus visits. It may not be really conducive to seeing the city from a tourist standpoint. I especially would avoid this unit in the winter, due to the front door not shutting or sealing all the way. When locked, it had a large gap always visible. Just not ideal and even more so if it had been any colder out. It was quiet and covered the necessities for a few days.
I would not rent again for a couple of reasons. 1. It needs a DEEP cleaning. There was general dirt and grime throughout, which is most likely due to the age of the unit. Random holes in the walls, dirt/who knows what smeared down the back side of the bathroom door. 2. The location "off the green line" per the unit description isn't quite accurate. It is a 16 minute walk to a T station from this unit, please keep that in mind if you think you are going to use mass transit.
Like I said, I was in a pinch for booking a room during a very busy fall weekend in the Boston area. The bed was very comfortable and the paid parking spot was a bonus. It just wouldn't be my preference in the future.
The place was in an amazing area! Brookline is a very safe and walkable area. Quick walk to the green line. close to parks and restaurants and a market. Loved it and cannot wait to come back!
This was a very cozy, comfortable apt.
Just needed a place to stay while I moved my daughter back to BC. Property owner was very responsive and accommodating to all of my needs. Was able to get parking spot in back of building for an extra $10 night. Would rent again if needed.
