This review includes pros and cons, beginning with the pros. The pictures of the house are accurate. The home looks as depicted (vibrancy of colors enhanced a bit). It has 5 nice-sized rooms and 2 baths. There were seven people in our group but it could easily sleep 8. My teenage kids enjoyed the pool a couple of nights when we got back early enough. The home is within 15-20 minutes from Luquillo Beach and food kioskos. It is also close to El Yunque rainforest, which was the draw for me. It’s an hour from Old San Juan. The people in the community were welcoming and just continued with their business. The host quickly responded whenever I reached out to her which was comforting. As for my cons, this home is in a rather remote or rural neighborhood (think roosters, horses and stray cats and dogs) that require maneuvering through narrow and very steep hills. We rented a large SUV, so this was a challenge. The area surrounding this home may also be jarring for people who are used to the resort life. This listing is likely one of the nicest homes in the immediate neighborhood. As for the roosters, you must not mind the constant, melodic tones of a their call because the house next door has a pen full. It’s not just a wake-up call. However, I did get used to it. The only other issue is that we didn’t have hot water. To the host’s credit, she responded multiple times after I reported it. We just weren’t there enough to address it. Overall, this was a good experience. No regrets!
