This property was a family residence for many years and for this reason it holds many memories. Originally this house was owned by a sea captain who was part of the Nunan fishing Fleet in the early 1900s. My family purchased the property when I was ten years old. My Dad was a teacher, but owned and operated Arundel Marine, which is now called the Arundel Wharf Restaurant and is located in the center of Kennebunkport. We commuted from Paddy Creek to the marina by boat. Growing up here was wonderful, I spent my summers waterskiing, sailing and exploring the nearby islands with my cousins.
Now my wife Joan and our two daughters are sharing the Paddy Creek experience. Our girls are fortunate to have grow up in this area, enjoying the Maine outdoor experience this property offers. We love swimming off the float, relaxing on the pier, snoozing in the hammock, kayaking, sailing or visiting the Cape Porpoise Islands and Goat Island Lighthouse. We love being near the water and enjoying Maine at its best.
For the past ten years we have been renting our waterfront cottage. We have also rented the main house for the past six years to the U.S. Secret Service. We are now renting them both on a weekly or monthly basis throughout the year. We are happy to offer you and your friends and family our property to create your own Maine summer memories.

Why they chose this property
We consider this a very special place. What is so special about it? First of all, it is situated on a tidal cove in Cape Porpoise, a quaint coastal village which is part of Kennebunkport, Maine. Our four-acre property is surrounded by water and is the last property on the end of a private road - so there is plenty of privacy. We have our own pier and float where you can dock your own boat, kayak or canoe - or you can rent one to explore the seven Cape Porpoise Islands. The pier and float are a great place for kids to swim, catch crabs and fish or for adults to sunbath, read a good book or enjoy a cold drink. The grounds include a large grassy area where many soccer, volley ball, and tug of war games have been played. The four acres include a peaceful area to rest in a hammock by the water as well as secluded woods with paths where you can enjoy a nature walk.
The property has a colonial style house, as well as a quintessential Maine cottage for accommodations. They can be rented separately or together to accommodate large families or groups. Because the distance between the house and cottage is approximately 150 ft, both the house and cottage have their own space and privacy. The pier and float are to be enjoyed by and offer water access to both the house and cottage occupants.
Less than a mile to Cape Porpoise village, it is a short walk to breakfast, lunch or dinner or for an ice cream run. In the center of Cape Porpoise you will find restaurants, a grocery store, post office, shops and galleries. It is a scenic walk to the local pier where you can fish or watch the lobstermen bring in their catch. A ten minute drive to Kennebunkport's Goose Rocks Beach, and the Kennebunk beaches as well as Kennebunkport’s Dock Square.

What makes this property unique
What is unique about this cottage is that is actually sits on the edge of the water - and at high tide the cottage is above the water. Because on the new codes it is not possible to build so close to the water.
