Haven by the Lake

Perfect, private getaway, sitting on 2 acres, surrounded by trees, but only a couple minutes to the lake, all perfect for making memories with family and friends. Perfect entertaining space in the house and on the back patio with both gas and wood fireplaces. 5 bedrooms, 3 king-size bedrooms, 1 queen-size bedroom, and 1 room with 6 bunk beds, and 2 bathrooms. This home is situated on 2 acres surrounded by trees giving you a private, quiet place to relax. Whether indoors or outdoors, the home provides plenty of space to accommodate small to large groups. The large kitchen provides seating for the entire group between the island or the dining room table, 2 dishwashers, and plenty of entertaining space on the large quartz island. Haven by the Lake guests have included avid hunters, boaters, wedding parties, family Thanksgiving and Christmas parties just to name a few. Now in our second year of hosting, we pride ourselves with a high return rate of rehosting past guests. We’re confident you’ll love Haven by the Lake and will make great memories.

Had a great time with family and conveniently located close to Lewis and Clark Lake. There was so much to do around the house as well. We had a foosball tournament one night. It was great, hopefully we can do it again sometime. Lindsay was responsive, check in and check out was a breeze.

Great Family Stay

We came for a family wedding in Tabor, SD the end of June. The house fit our family, 9 Adults and 7 Kids aged 3 1/2 and under, very well. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed seeing the turkey and deer in the yard. Thanks for sharing your home!

Short family get-away

Perfect for our family get-away. We really enjoyed the wildlife visiting the neighborhood! Extremely quiet area with adequate parking for our 4 vehicles. House was spacious, well equipped, and comfortable. We loved eating our meals outside, however there was plenty of space inside for our 8 adults/3 little ones as well. Wasn’t a fancy place, but definitely homey and adequate!

Winter stay

Attended an archery tournament in Yankton and the house was very conveniently located. Very clean and easy to find. The kids especially enjoyed playing in the snow and sledding down the small hill in the back yard. The only issue we had was it did snow a lot while we were there so it was difficult to get in and out of the slopes driveway. Luckily we were in a 4x4 truck but we did have to use 4x4 to get up the driveway.

Favorite Family Fun

Our two sons and their families joined us for a memorable vacation. Our grandchildren (ages 5 - 14) enjoyed using the various outdoor activities on the property and the Missouri River. During the day they went fishing, swimming, hiking and in the evening made smores. There was ample room for our group of 12 both inside and out. There were a variety of tv networks on the large screen, so a movie was shared in the evening. My granddaughter texted within an hour of our vacation to say "that was a fun trip"!! It was music to my ears. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home!

Great rental!

Our family stayed at the Haven by the Lake for 3 days. The property was perfect for our group of 8. The home was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was well supplied, and we loved the layout of the house. We took a nice, long walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed seeing the many wild turkeys & deer. We took advantage of the fire pit and enjoyed smores! Located a few miles outside of Yankton so great location! We even took a short drive to Nebraska to enjoy dinner at Murdos. Highly recommend this place!

I’m a nurse fulltime and single mother to 7 children. Originally from Nebraska and had been coming to Yankton for years. This home is our oasis and we wanted to share it with others.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood is about as close to the lake as you’ll get in Yankton since the state owns most of the water side property at the top of the lake. It’s nestled in the trees, providing a private getaway but yet just a few minutes to the water.
