About this property

Leather&Spruce - Luxury Lake area fun funky home with amenities. Great for 2-18!

This fun "Mid-Century Modern Eclectic Lakehouse" is the newest addition to the Twist of Pine family of vacation rentals and event locations in the Yankton lake area (also includes thePinecone & lakeGLAMpine). This luxury lake house has comfortable mattresses & beds, amazing showers and one bath with a soaking tubwith heated bathroom floor, a meditation room, a wet bar area and as a PLUS a kids playroom you just have to see! Sleeps 14 in bedrooms and Convertible Couches. Also has 4 additional portable twin mattresses. For a total of 18 beds with linens and bedding.

If you are planning a romantic weekend for just 2, or if your group is less than 6, please message us for possible better rates!

Normal check-in is 3 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m - if you need us to accommodate different timing, just ask - if we haven't had a guest the night before, or we don't have a new guest coming in, we can probably adjust this for you. But you must get this in writing from Lisa - either through here, or via a text message to confirm, so our cleaning team is made aware.

Family Vacation

The house could easily accommodate all 11 of us. It was close to all our interests of beach, hiking and local museums, etc. The large patio gave us plenty of outdoor space to enjoy.

What a lovely place to spend a 3 generation family weekend. Everything at hand, easy to access, and even some extras! The hosts were great and we only contacted them by phone😊 It’s not lake side, but if you don’t mind a drive you wool be fine. I predict you will enjoy your stay.

The view, wildlife, and neighborhood was great!!!

The owners are extremely easy to talk to and communicate with. Their place was super clean and easy to move into. Saw plenty of deer, turkey and other wild life. Great options nearby for food, shopping ect. Great little town but not super busy. The lake was gorgeous and just down the street... but walk out the front door you can see it. Definitely can't wait to be back again!!

Luxury is right!

Beautiful. Host was always pleasant and was the exact amount of helpful but not overbearing. Home is exactly as pictured. It is close to a lake but not in the traffic flow which is perfect. Close to amenities and some nice restaurants but the home has everything for evenings in. Our whole family enjoyed themselves.

Last fling before the ring!

My daughter will be getting married in October and we had friends and family celebrate her. We had a wonderful time! The house was absolutely beautiful. Multi Family Vacation

We have a large family with lots of adults and lots of children. There is 17 of us total and with all of the couches and extra mattresses we had plenty of sleeping places for all. The mattresses were super comfortable. The bedding and towels were also very comfortable and top notch! We enjoyed the big backyard for all of our gaming. There is plenty of space in the recently done backyard to take your dining outside with a larger group like we had. We also spent lots of time around the fire pit and under the outdoor lighting. Lisa was wonderful to work with and we will for sure be back. The house was super clean and stocked well. We loved having on site laundry as well. They also have the garage set up nicely to take the party in there if it were colder or rainy outside. Again we were very pleased with our stay in Yankton at Leather and Spruce!

This is the second rental we have stayed at with these owners/property managers; last year we stayed at the Pine Cone property. We have had great experiences on both occurrences and will continue to stay in their properties for our family get togethers in Yankton in the future. This property has a great (and new!) outside area for families, great and comfortable accommodations for all family members in a layout that gives everyone space too. The kitchen and dining area are a little smaller, in comparison to the larger gathering area in their Pine Cone property, but was completely adequate for our family gathering of 11.

Wonderful and spacious lake home.

Lisa is a Graphic Designer, Marketing Specialist, On-Line Store Owner, Serial Entrepreneur, Wedding & Event Planner, and Food & Travel Enthusiast and is married to Kelly Kneifl, who travels extensively for work and loves coming home to his "vacation home". Kelly built the amazing barn you see to the south and east of thePinecone (north of Twist of Pine). He hopes he can someday soon enjoy his woodworking shop with his kids and grandkids. He wants everyone to know it is not a wedding barn or party location, but we think it would be great one..LOL!.

Why they chose this property

We chose these properties due to the proximity of the location to the Yankton area, our other rental property thePinecone (on the SE corner of Kaiser and 434th) Twist of Pine (timber frame home you can see south as you look at the lake through the two houses across the street from this rental) and the close access to Lewis and Clark lake, but you just have to see the views of the lake and the backyard oasis we are creating. So excited to share it with everyone!

What makes this property unique

Access to our sister property, Twist of Pine happened in December 2019 when it finally opened, but almost immediately got derailed by COVID - a few months later, and isn't really full back on track yet.

This beautiful Timberframe home just down the driveway from thePinecone on 434th, is a great way to upgrade your stay with a full breakfast and all the extras you might need. Booking items are still on a case by case basis, but Twist of Pine will have many added experiences and add on's as well, just check with us when you stay is close and we will gladly update you on availability.

Babysitting, delivery of food items and some room service type amenities, access to our store during your stay, and more.
