Cedar Hill Cottage perfectly located in downtown Boyne City!

Come experience all that Boyne City has to offer!! Charming three bedroom 1922 home located just a few short blocks to all that is happening in downtown Boyne City. Blocks away from Lake Charlevoix, under a mile to the boat launch for boating and fishing. Avalanche Mountain is less than a mile away for hiking, mountain biking, sledding, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.

Just a short five minute drive to Boyne Mountain where you'll find incredible golfing, skiing and the new Skybridge, the worlds longest timber tower suspension bridge in the world. The views are breathtaking! Boyne Mountain has Michigan's largest indoor waterpark, Avalanche Bay. Lots of fun for the whole family.

For those looking to enjoy the northern Michigan fall foliage there is plenty to see around Boyne City. Take a 20 minute trip to Deadman's Hill Scenic Overlook and 10 minutes south of that is Landslide Hill Scenic Overlook. For probably the most beautiful drive in the State head 40 minutes away to Harbor Springs and take M119, the Tunnel of Trees to Cross Village.

Cedar Hill Cottage is a perfect home base to explore northern Michigan. Situated an hour from Traverse City, and Mackinaw City and less than 20 minutes from Charlevoix, Petoskey and Lake Michigan. There are endless opportunities to enjoy nature. We are surrounded by countless hiking trails, mountain bike trails and some of the most beautiful lakes and beaches in the world.

Our cottage has eight beds. There is a queen in the master bedroom, as well as 2 renovated upstairs bedrooms. One featuring a queen bed and the other containing a full and twin bed. The living room has a sleeper sofa with a very comfortable air mattress and the den has a regular sleeper sofa. Out on the enclosed front porch there is a full size futon as well as a twin daybed. This area is not heated, but with recently installed energy efficient windows and a couple of space heaters, it is surprisingly comfortable for overnight sleeping and cozy afternoon naps.

**Although it is advertised as a 1.5 bathroom home, the 1/2 bath is really a 1/4 bath as there is a small room in the basement with a toilet in it. This comes in handy when people need to use the restroom and someone is showering or using the main bathroom.**

The kitchen is very well stocked with anything you may need...including crock pots, a griddle, hand mixer, baking sheets, mixing bowls, baking dishes and plenty of utensils...everything you need to cook an amazing meal. There is a grocery store nearby and wonderful specialty food and wine/liquor markets as well. The Boyne City Farmers Market is one of the best I’ve experienced. The market is held on Wednesday and Saturday during the summer and Saturday only during the colder months.

The cottage does not have cable TV. However, there is high speed internet and wifi. There are two TV's. A Smart TV in the living room and another TV with an Amazon Firebox in the den. With the high speed internet you can enjoy Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other app based movie and TV programs.

Come on up to Boyne and enjoy the year round fun!

This was a fantastic, charming cottage equipped with everything we could need! There was lots a comfortable seating and a gas stove to snuggle around. Great downtown location

We are a family of 6 and had such a nice time here. The location to walk to town and the beaches are great. The kids loved sleeping on the front porch and the adults enjoyed the quiet backyard. Boyne City Visit

Came to stay in Boyne City for a soccer tournament in Petoskey and found the Cedar Hill Cottage. Beautiful inside and out! Great location to walk into town for shops and restaurants! Close to a local beach to enjoy the lake and lovely views! Everything we could ask for when we were not at a soccer game! Excellent hosts who were accommodating and quick to respond to any questions! Gramma's house

Reminded me of my gramma's house. Old, but interesting and inviting. Everything was clean and tidy. Christmas tree was still up for our early January stay! Just follow the check-in instuctions closely and there will be no problem. Toilet in basement was interesting, but manageable. When locking front door, pull on the handle while hitting button.

Great place for a family!

Wonderful property for our family. We have 2 children under 3. We vacation in Boyne city every year and usually stay in a condo or rent a large house on the water with our siblings. With having a growing little family we decided to try a new place. It was a great decision! Spacious enough when my father and niece came to stay. Great living room areas so everyone could hang out on one end of the house without waking up the baby. Easy walking distance to everything, grocery store,restraunts, beach, park, we didn’t need to use our car once!! Well stocked, decorated cutely. Looking forward to booking it next year!!

This little house was the perfect size for our family of five. Beds were very comfy!!! Kitchen had everything we needed to prep meals. Loved relaxing on the front porch. We traveled to several areas from here (Charlevoix, Petoskey, Mackinac) and also enjoyed the Boyne City restaurants and the harbor area is cute. There is no central air, but do have some room a/c units- They did ok. There is only one Bathroom. The owners were great to work with and were extremely responsive with any questions we had! We would definitely come back!

2nd stay and will be back again

This was our second stay in this home. Last time was also a new years trip. We really love the town of Boyne City - especially all of the restaurants and this is thre perfect home base. The 2 rooms upstairs give our boys the option to spread out or be together. 2 family rooms both with TVs allow us to share or split up. I noticed that the main floor bedroom mattress has been replaced since we last visited. Also noted there are now headed pads on the front steps! No slipping! this home is a very short drive to the mountain for skiing and has ample room to keep your gear. If we decide to return to Boyne for the holidays next year this is the first place we will try to rent.

Fantastic location within a short walking distance to downtown!

Our family had a great time and this house is a perfect location to downtown Boyne City. Close drive to Whiting Beach plus easy drives to Harbor Springs, Petoskey and Charlevoix. The house was comfortable and relaxing to stay in. Matt and Sheila were fantastic with communications and replied back very quickly with any questions. Highly recommend staying here!

We live in Howell, MI and have enjoyed vacationing in Boyne City for years. My husband is a CPA and I am in charge of managing our properties. We have a boy and a girl that are growing up way to fast. I grew up in Alma, MI and my husband grew up in Howell. We hope you love the Boyne area as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

After vacationing in Boyne City for years we decided we wanted to buy a place and put it on VRBO so others can enjoy this incredible area. We looked for over a year to find the right house that was located close to downtown, was in the neighborhood we wanted and was priced right. When we found Cedar Hill Cottage we knew that although it looked like it needed a lot of work, it was mostly cosmetic. After working long weekends for over four months we were able to transform the place into what we have now.

What makes this property unique

You can walk to town, but it is still close enough to get to many activities around the area. It is also a great place to leave from for quick day trips like to Mackinaw Island or the UP.
