Welcome to Powder Haus. A home designed to let you experience all the great powder Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has to offer. Ski right to the specially designed ski door leading to the an area designed for your ski gear with ski racks, boot/glove dryers, benches to take off equipment and a dryer to dry your wet clothes.

Powder Haus is a brand new modern townhome in the exclusive Cedars development at the base of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Four bedrooms including 3 master suites with king beds, closets (two walk-ins), ensuite bathrooms (one dual access from the rest of the home). Fourth bedroom is a bunkroom with 4 large bunk beds and dedicated closet. All bedrooms include soft premium down comforters, Egyptian cotton sheets and premium pillows for a great, comfortable night sleep.
Media room has a queen pullout couch and adjoining full bathroom as well as large flatscreen TV with blu ray player, satellite DVR and soundbar. The mainfloor of the townhome has a large extended length one car garage, ski-in room with ski racks and boot dryer, entryway/mud room area perfect for taking off and storing ski clothes and laundry facilities. There are two bedrooms on this level. The bedrooms containing king beds with premium linens and pillows, large walk-in closets, ensuite bathrooms, flatscreen TVs and satellite television. The ensuite bathrooms have a vanity, full shower and heated floors.

The upper floor contains the modern kitchen with sit-up bar area, large refrigerator, high end stovetop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, pantry and all the modern kitchen appliances for the discerning chef. Just off the kitchen is the large dining area with 8 person dining table and chandelier above. Next to the dining area is the large living room with sectional sofa, gas fireplace and large flatscreen TV with blu ray player, satellite DVR and surround sound receiver. Just off the living room is a open office work area. Off the upper floor is a huge deck going from one end of the upper floor to the other. It has an 4 person hot tub, large gourmet BBQ grill and beautiful views. There is a half bath just off the kitchen and pantry.

Amazing Property

Great stay at Kicking Horse!

The entire area is a hidden gem and this home was no exception. Located in a quaint, new area just a few minutes drive to the base of Kicking Horse, this home was a treat to come back to after a long day skiing. It was very clean, spacious, and had nice views from the hot tub. The boot dryer in the garage was a nice perk. Thanks for hosting us for a few days, we hope to be back in the future!

We had a great stay! Weather was superb so we were able to take advantage of the large deck. The upstairs is very comfortable for lounging too. We’ll set up for a ski family. Walk in the back of the garage and drop skis and boots off then enter mudroom to take off ski clothes! Would stay there again for sure.

Great house

The home was clean and attractive and met our needs. It was well stocked and the manager was easy to deal with. This is a nice ski in location. Ski out is a bit optimistic.

Amazing mountain house

This place is fantastic. Expansive kitchen and living space with lots of room for the family. Well stocked and easy to use. The hot tub is a bonus after a long day on the mountain. I couldn’t figure out the stereo system so make sure you have back up music. Note: there is a camera above the hot tub.

Sweet Digs, Great mountain!!

Our clan of 12 (6 adult and 6 children) had ample room in this well designed Town home. The kids loved staying in the basement bunk room while the adults could be two floors up enjoying the main living room and hot tub. The other three bedrooms were essentially masters which was nice for space. The ski in was great, a run right from the top was easy to find. The ski out was harder due to seasonal thaw (we still did it after lunches) but it's literally a 2 min drive with lots of parking at the base. Gabriel was very communicative and helpful. We will be back. Oh and the views off the deck are ridiculously gorgeous. Great stay.

Amazing space close to the hill

We do an annual ski trip every year, and this year we picked Kicking Horse. The place looked great in the photos, and we were excited to experience the mountain. Unfortunately, we received a message the night before we checked in stating there was a problem with the unit. Gabriel immediately found us an alternative place in the same area. After some confusion and stress, we found the place and settled in. These units are incredible! The pictures don’t do it justice. The ski out is manageable, and the ski in is right to the door. Thank you to a great host who worked swift and hard to make our trip happen. Definitely recommend.

Great Winter Getaway

The accommodations were perfect for 3 families with little ones (4 kiddos under 3). The two master closets fit the pack and plays so it was like babies were in their own bedroom. Pictures and description were accurate and don't do the property justice. Kitchen was well stocked, very clean and the beds and linens were very high end. Communication with the property manager was excellent. Hot tub with great mountain views. We all snowboard so the ski in/out was a bit too flat for us (the video accurately reflects the terrain so we knew this at time of booking). Despite this, we could easily drive to Kicking Horse Resort - drive is less than 2 minutes. If you are skiing you will have no issue. We had a lovely stay and would definitely consider staying again and making this trip an annual tradition. Would recommend!

The property is new and very nice. Very good attention to detail for skiers, lots of shelves and hooks at the entry for boots and skiwear. The kitchen and pantry are very well equipped. Top notch TVs and provider with plenty of HD sports channels. We really liked the layout of the upper level with kitchen, dining & TV/fireplace all together and open. Nice new outdoor hot tub with great views of the mountains. Unfortunately snow conditions were poor when we were there Jan30-Feb2 with marginal skiing on the lower mountain and the ski in/out essentially closed so unable to comment on that. Also we were not given the access code prior to check-in time (5pm) and the PM did not respond to emails (VRBO app chat) or voice messages left on his contact number (which is a USA number, most inconvenient as most phone plans will incur a charge). I called VRBO directly and they were eventually able to trigger the PM to send me the access code. Thus we had a rough start to our trip and not great ski conditions but everyone really enjoyed the house and we would certainly stay again.

Great house but..

The house itself is beautiful, but there are some discrepancies between the listing and the actual experience. While the listing states the house sleeps 12, only 10 adults are allowed, despite there being enough beds for 12.Upon booking, I received immediate confirmation from VRBO. However, the host then required us to fill out a form detailing the name, profession, age, and marital status of every guest before our stay was officially confirmed. The host also needed to know if anyone in the group was getting married in the next year (does not allow bachelor weekends). This felt unnecessarily intrusive, and our reservation was initially denied because I was not explicit enough with who was dating who.Additionally, one of the bedrooms was locked from the inside upon arrival, and despite reaching out, the host never responded. Thankfully, we were able to unlock it with a hair pin.There are also strict rules, including a curfew and a camera facing the hot tub, maximum number of "single males". The ski-in/ski-out access is not as convenient as advertised and does not easily allow for quick stops back at the house.Overall, the property is lovely, but clearer communication and more accurate listing details would greatly improve the experience.

Hi Kieren, I'm glad you enjoyed the home and I'm sorry you felt like the communication was lacking. For future renters I encourage people to review the listing description (especially the House Rules section) as the occupancy restrictions including the single adults limitation as well as the curfew is spelled out in there. All of these are also detailed in the contract that they guests signed. Also the camera is also called out in the listing description and there are signs on the property indicating where video cameras operate. Regarding the ski-in/ski-out, I would recommend viewing the video in the listing as it shows a detailed video showing what the ski-in/ski-out from the home from the perspective of someone coming to and from the home and should be an excellent resource for anyone wanting to understand what the ski-in/ski-out was like. Amazing Family Getaway!

Although I had been to Golden many times in the winter, this was my first in the summer but it will not be my last! Myself and my family (grandma, teens, adults, and kids!) ALL thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Powder Haus. With so many thoughtful touches throughout the home, it really made it feel like a home to create lasting memories in. Some of my favorites were: the baskets of outdoor patio slippers/towels, the ample kitchen spices (usually spice selection is slim in vaction rentals) and the well laid out instruction book for all things regarding the home. (we needed a couple of us to tackle the tv and all the remotes to put on something for grandma to watch.) The kids loved the outlets and personal lights in each bunk bed! Those staying in the cool basement may find the 4 flights of stairs up to the kitchen a bit tough after a long day of hiking. But the hot tub would make you forget all those sore muscles, great it was visible from the kitchen. All the rooms were spacious, the decor was simple, and the premium finishes didn't go unnoticed. 5 stars across the board! As our first gathering post covid, the home truly made it that much more special, we can't wait to return!

Golden getaway

The house was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. The driveway and garage were a little narrow but still able to park our car and truck with trailer. We had a fantastic family getaway and enjoyed the skiing as well as sledding. Thanks for the memories.
