We had a great time here. The place was perfect and the hosts were very nice people. Can’t wait to come back. We sat on the front porch every night and looked at the amazing views.
Wonderful place!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Beautiful views and the suite was perfect for our getaway. The Holdens are great and very hospitable host!
My friend and I were looking for the perfect getaway to relax, hike, and explore. This private suite was perfect! Nestled in the mountain with an amazing view it offered everything we needed for our girls getaway. Would also make an excellent romantic getaway. I may come back with the hubby.
On our Southern Tour of western Carolinas and upper Georgias this was our favorite stay and fortunately our longest! The whole place was extremely nice (bed, bathroom, kitchen) and the deck was spectacular. Loved the mountain views and only wish was we could have stayed forever.
Would definitely book this again when we come back to Maggie Valley.
Our stay was excellent. I did not get a chance to talk to Stan, but my wife and I had the opportunity to talk to his wife. Our arrival was extremely late (11-12 at night). They had keys out, lights on, notes by the coffee maker. It was very nice of them. I highly recommend this property! Great views, awesome deck, and a just right size studio/ suite for 2 plus dog(s). It hade a nice kitchen area w/ stove and microwave, pots, pans, dishes, utensils. It felt like a second home!
Stan and Diane were exceptional hosts, very warn, very accommodating. House was as advertised, clean, super comfortable, received our dogs very well. Suite views amazing, will return.
This was our first time at this property and definitely won’t be the last! Perfect for a couple on a getaway. Everything you could possibly need is there and it is very cozy and comfortable. The view from the deck is magnificent!! We spent every evening there. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Could not ask for more!!!
Our stay was awesome! The Holden's are wonderful hosts who go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and have the best vacation possible! The suite was very clean, neat and fully stocked with everything you can possibly need. We were there for a 5 day stay and were totally pleased with everything! I highly recommend this suite to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with absolutely amazing views! You will have no regrets! Thank you Stan and Diane for making our stay there the best it could possibly be!
This little apartment is a wonderful get a way. Nice and clean with all you need. The fireplace was not working because of a pilot light being on back order. It was suppose to be in. It did not bother us we never got cold. The owners are very nice. We hope to come back again.
The pictures of this property can never truly describe the beauty of the surrounding mountains and valley at Maggie Valley.
Seeing the mist in the valley in the morning took our breath away and made us very happy that we found this location.
Local amenities were plentiful with a lot to do and see within a short distance of the property.
The lodging itself was very comfortable and fully equipped with anything one might need during a stay. It has the function of a well appointed hotel but with the comfort and charm of a homey apartment.
I highly recommend this property.
Staying here was nearly perfect for our visit. When it came to trying to close the sliding door as well as locking it - was a slight hassle because it rarely seemed to want to close properly. Throughout our stay, it was pleasant but we never saw either one of the hosts after "check in." Great, but also not as you'll later read. The day we checked out, the apartment was left nearly spotless. We cleaned the dishes and put most of them back leaving a cleaned bowl on the drying rack in the sink, stripped the sheets off the mattress (leaving them there), took the laundry basket out of the closet by the kitchen putting used towels and the sole bathrobe that was used in it, and I took it upon myself to sweep debris off the floor (except the bathroom and anything off the big rug, no vacuum access), and wiping down areas... Which brings me to something that I hadn't expected to write in a review with our hosts. Days after checking out, I received a message that we apparently had a dog of which is simply not true rendering an additional charge (of which I contacted Vrbo customer support to see what needed to be done on my end (which I will not be paying - we DON'T have a dog.) This animal had pooped on the deck (per the cleaning crew per Mrs. Holden and allegedly inside the apartment). We feel very strongly that they should've made contact with us during our stay to verify we didn't have an animal with us or even make contact after that we didn't before charging a fee.
We loved this place-- owners are sweet people and provided all sorts of little extras that made you feel like you mattered. A gorgeous setting, central location for various activities in the Smokies, we will definitely want to return and recommend this accomodation fully to everyone else!
My husband and I stayed at this property for our 1 year anniversary. It was amazing! The view was spectacular, the room was comfortable and clean, and the hosts were so sweet! The pictures do not do this place justice - it’s even more beautiful in person. We will definitely be returning!
A peaceful getaway with a nice firm king sized bed at the top of the mountain. This property is one level with a nice clean kitchen, utensils included. There is a large deck for sitting and enjoying the views or grilling and eating out on the deck. Charcoal grill included. The owners have really put a lot of thought into including anything you might need to enjoy your stay.

Charming 1BR suite with fantastic view
The Holden suite is a great location for touring around the Maggie Valley area. The decor is simply charming and has everything you could possibly need for a short get-away or longer visit. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Lots of books and information on the area and key touring spots. This suite is located in the basement of their home and offers privacy along with an awesome view from the spacious deck right outside the suite. The ability to grill is a plus for folks who like to manage their own meals (charcoal and lighter fluid provided!). The sunrise is just spectacular here! Highly recommend!

Never disappointed-second visit!
We returned to the Smokey Mountains to ride motorcycles and sit on this deck! The views, the privacy, the central location, and the king size bed were great reasons to return to this suite. The dinner at Frankie's was yummy, We also lunched in charming Waynesville. You gotta see the Wheels Through Time Museum as well. Cooking on the charcoal grill that Stan and Diane provided, (they even had the charcoal!), was a treat as well. The Holdens are terrific hosts that give you local info and the space you need to relax. We're coming back!

More than what we expected.
Coming to the area for both business and leisure, we wanted something different from the bustle of a hotel room. We found ourselves overwhelmed by the find in this rental. The views are spectacular, the location very central to the events and attractions we were there for, and the suite itself was very neat, inviting, and roomy. Many details of the area were offered by the Holdens, who were more than welcoming; going the extra mile to make the stay memorable, they were the perfect hosts. Welook forward to coming back.

Above the humdrum
My husband and I found this charming place and stayed at least a week for three years in a row during the late fall. Leaves had turned and even had snow and it remained cozy and wonderful. Life has prevented us from returning until 2014 but can't wait to return. It is quiet and gives us a chance to totally unwind before the December holidays. The owners are extremely nice, accommodating and provide a list of restaurants they recommend - not just a long list of all the restaurants. Also being a foodie, we always enjoyed talking with the owners about our experiences at various restaurants so they can make sure the list is still good. Come stay - but not when we want to!

A home from home up a big hill
On arrival we were welcomed by Stan and Diane and shown the suite which was immaculate, the cleanliness is a tribute to hard work done to present a suite to a very high standard. What is provided for your comfort, enjoyment and entertainment,TV DVD Internet access and more area information leaflets than you will have time to read. What could be nicer than opening one eye in the morning a looking out the mountain scenery, opening both eyes.Breakfast at the table on the deck to start the day or a beer while rocking in the chair is a nice way to end the day.The only things you need to take is food for breakfast and a camera,we saw chipmunks, rabbits and lots of birds around the house. If you are visiting Maggie Valley get in touch with Stan and Diane. It was a pity we could not stay longer than we did but would be very happy to return.
Sorry I could not remember the dates we stayed.
