This was an amazing well appointed home with a gorgeous view and a clean and nice hot tub. The property manager was helpful and responsive. We'll be back for sure!
Great property on maxwelton beach! So nice to look out over the water from the deck and take walks down the beach. Perfect for my family with two young kiddos.
Shimmering Waters is a gem even during winter time. Very comfortable and cozy. This is a great place for all seasons. The view is a dream view right out of heaven
We spent 4 nights in this great beach house. It's very cozy and well-appointed. The best part is the location - it's on a private drive right on the Maxwelton beach. The views from every room are phenomenal! We had a very relaxing time reading, playing games, watching movies and enjoying the hot tub. And a beautiful sunset!!
House is absolutely stocked with everything you any need. The scenery is beautiful and quiet. The hot tub could use better instructions. Thank you for sharing your home.
The house was outstanding and so was the hot tub and view!
The *only* issue was that the older kayak didn't have a seat installed and was unusable.
Either way, we will be back and will book this property again.
Quaint beach cabin and generally a pleasant stay. Enjoyed the new hot tub. Well stocked (need a juice pitcher, though) and very good high-quality beds. However, upstairs jetted bathtub had dirty jets, dirty tile, and shower head needs replacing. Kitchen faucet leaks when turned on and there were tiny ants on the counters.
The low tides were fun to explore but the ladder to the beach did not allow 2 senior citizens to access it. Listing should probably address this issue.
A cute place. Could use a bit of a refresh. Needs some upgrades on cooking tools and furniture. A little less clutter. Better organization of notes. More comfortable furniture. (House instructions consisted of sun-bleached sticky notes in several places around house, plus guest book with a smattering of pages shoved in it, with handwritten addenda.) Privacy screen between hot tub and neighbors would be great.
Communication with host was perfect and we had a fun time.
We had a wonderful long weekend with our son and his girlfriend, and Shimmering Waters was a home run. The views from the deck and interior spaces are exceptional, we watched bald eagles, herons, and osprey hunting daily, and the sunsets over the Olympics were spectacular. House is incredibly well stocked (perhaps so well that finding room for kitchen items brought from home was challenging but that's a good problem!). The dishwasher needs some repair, and the kitchen and bath fixtures are well-worn and could use some updating. The long kyack is ready to be replaced (slow leak) but kyaks were fun to use. Beach glass, shells, and incredibly abundant sealife on the tide flats made for hours of leisurely beachcombing. We'll be back!
We stayed at this great home on Whidbey Island for two weeks with my family, and it was an incredible experience! The breathtaking views from the back were nothing short of spectacular, providing a perfect backdrop for our stay. Puget Sound and views of Olympic mountains with constantly changing scenes as the tide went in and out. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, making meal prep a breeze. What truly set this place apart, though, were the amazing neighbors. They were friendly, welcoming, and added a special touch to our visit. If you're looking for a getaway with stunning scenery and a homey feel, this rental is a must-visit!
The location and the home lovely. Beds were extremely comfortable, the house was spotlessly clean. It had every amenity in the kitchen. Absolutely quiet at all times. My friend and I had a long girl's weekend and thought it was perfect.
Very nice house located directly on a walkable shoreline. Perfect fit for ourselves and our two family guests. Location is somewhat remote and road in and out is a bit tricky. Hot tub was great. Some of the amenities need updates. Contact with host was very good.
Everything was as advertised..it was a peaceful place to stay with all we needed. Beds were on the old side and need to be replaced, but we slept well so not a huge complaint.
What a beautiful setting and great experience on Whidbey Island. This is a wonderful and quiet property with everything that you need for a relaxing getaway. Sunset over the Olympic mountains views from the jacuzzi or a beach walk are unforgettable. Would highly recommend this property.

Great location!!
Love Maxwelton Beach!! It was a really wonderful location, right on the water. Amazing views!! Loved walking the beach everyday, even in the rain!
The hone had a well-stocked kitchen, but my favorite room was the light-filled, cheerful master bedroom upstairs! There’s a skylight above the bed and I enjoyed hearing the rain and seeing the stars at night… ahhh…
The hot tub on the deck got a lot of use by us. Wonderful..!! (Though it needs to be cleaned)
The home was great, even though dated and needs some TLC. Check-in instructions came last minute, after I sent an email the night before our arrival. Even so, we would definitely stay here again!!
