The Lake House on DuBay

The Lake House on DuBay is the perfect family getaway, located between Wausau and Stevens Point just minutes away from I-39 and Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA). About 20 minutes to SentryWorld golf course, Granite Peak ski area and Rib Mountain state park. House includes a Master Suite, upstairs bedroom, kitchen, dining room, full bath, living room, large screen porch, wood burning fireplace and 3 flatscreen TV's with Directv and Wifi. Gorgeous lake views from screen porch and living room. Both bathrooms and much of the house have been newly remodeled. Kitchen is fully stocked and ready to cook in or use the outdoor gas grill. Room for 6 to sleep. Master has a king size bed, guest bedroom has two queen size beds and the living room has a pull out sleeper sofa. Outside, there is a large fire pit with plenty of wood to burn and the private beach is great for catching rays or for the kids to play in. We also have a couple kayaks and paddle boards for guests to use. Out to the end of the dock (approx. 40 feet) is less than 4 feet deep and great for kids to swim. After the dock the water drops off and you can fish from the end of the dock. Lake DuBay is the premier lake destination in central Wisconsin. It is approximately 4600 acres and perfect for fishing, recreation or relaxing. Bring your boat or rent our pontoon!

Peaceful stay on Lake Dubay

Relax and enjoyed this property. Brad was really accommodating from setting us up with fishing rods and offering up to rent his pontoon boat. Plenty of wood for the fire pit and lots of helpful suggestions on where to eat and w!hat to do. A great spot to get away from the city and enjoy what Portage County has to offer.

Lake DuBay

Came up with my son and a friend for a 4 day fishing trip. Home was immaculate and the property is gorgeous. Views are great n only 100’ or so to the dock. Host greeted us upon arrival and provided all info we asked about. Boated a 48” Muskie! Awesome trip. Highly recommend this home.

GREAT PLACE AND BEST OWNER!

Great location, house was as advertised. Rented the pontoon, which ran great and was clean and comfortable. Brad made sure we had everything we needed. Keith and Joanne next door are the BEST people - so down-to-earth and kind (they also made sure we had everything we needed). THANKS SO MUCH for a great experience!

Absolutely perfect in every way!

We have stayed in many VRBO's and I cannot remember a rental being as perfect as this one was! We wanted a lake house to go fishing and boy did this accommodate that to the fullest. First off, the house was stocked better than our own home that we live in and they had everything we could ever need and more. The pontoon boat, fishing dock, and backyard were perfect. We built a fire every night and they provided plenty of firewood along with a nice little smores kit which was a very nice touch. I could go on and on but it's pretty simple; if you are looking for a relaxing lake front home then you must rent this house. We were also fortunate enough to meet the owner and he was wonderful. I am certain that we will be back. Thank you for an incredible family weekend!! 11 Stars!!

Wisconsin weekend getaway

Our family of 4, including two teen boys, much needed a break after a busy school year. This spacious 2 bedroom allowed the boys their own space in the upstairs bedroom. Family room with amazing high ceilings, kitchen with all you needed and master bedroom on main floor with comfortable king mattress and private bath. We loved being on the water so could throw a line in from the dock, paddle board, lounge on the beach area or sit on the screen in porch. We much appreciated the details of stocked coffee, kitchen, towels and soaps in all the bathrooms. Including a toothbrush in case you forgot one! Basket of beach towels or blankets in case a cool evening. Not all VRBO have the extra details that the Bauer’s have thought of. Thank you!

Perfect place for kids. Big lake but not crowded. Dock great for fishing and boat use. Beach on property. Large fire pit. Place stocked with lots of toys, games, life jackets, firewood, bug spray, sunblock, towels, toiletries, and etc. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you'd need. Close to areas with super clubs, groceries, etc. Screened in porch is great for sunset. Large yard for volleyball, wiffleball, etc. Fun location. 2 full baths both newer and redone.

Perfect lake vacation!

We have stayed at countless lake rentals, and this truly was one of the best. Brad and family have thought of every detail and so many little “extras”. The home is clean, comfortable, and has fabulous access to the lake. We enjoyed our time on the water fishing, tubing, and swimming. The kids loved playing in the sand and jumping off the dock. There are also toys to play with and chess on the screened in porch. The kitchen is great for cooking at home, but we also enjoyed dinner out on the lake and in Wausau. The Water ski show on Thursday night is right across the lake which we loved. If you are looking for a quiet rental on a beautiful lake with lovely neighbors, this is the place for you! We would most certainly come back!!!

Fantastic Long Weekend Getaway

Had a great long weekend here in June. Loved going out on the pontoon and Kayaks. Great little swimming beach with lounge chairs and a fire pit for bonfires and smores. Cabin was clean and comfortable.

Great winter escape to a cozy lakeside cottage!

My wife and our four kids used this great cabin for our annual ski trip to Granite Peak. The cottage felt warm, cozy and family-friendly from the moment we arrived. We especially appreciated the hot cocoa, tea and fresh coffee beans (which we coincidentally forgot to bring) that greeted us when we arrived. We were also pleasantly surprised in how well appointed the kitchen was, and how nice (and clean!) the bathrooms and showers were! The views of the frozen lake, moon and stars were stunning! Thank you for hosting us in your fine cabin Brad!

Wonderful Winter Getaway

This is a lovely property in a beautiful setting. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. Granite Peak is about 30 minutes away. We enjoyed several days of skiing. Brad was most helpful with the few issues we encountered. Highly recommend!

3 Day Fishing trip

The property was all it was supposed to be. We needed accommodations with a boat slip, as we were on a fall fishing trip. This would be a great trip for recreational boating trips as well because of the dock and the house provided many amenities suited for a summer family event. Top Notch!

I can’t say enough about this place and these folks. Beautiful, immaculate house right on the water with fantastic screened in porch to take in the lake views. The little beach made our daughter's stay ideal- and the boat and kayaks were great to have on hand. If you’re looking to unplug this is the place!

Great Get Away

The cabin was perfect. Had all the amenities we needed and more. The lake is peaceful and perfect for morning kayaking which we did everyday. I would stay here every year!

Great Location

Property was nice and secluded with a large backyard, large firepit, nice screened in porch looking at lake, extra beer refrigerator, dock, a beach, ability to walk into lake or jump off dock. Beautiful night skies. Property was fully loaded with extras for the kitchen and kids toys. Even spare toiletries including toothbrushes in each bathroom. Ideal for 2 small families or 1 large family. The house was remodeled except for the kitchen. Bathrooms were very nice. Ability to rent pontoon boat also very nice. Boat has small engine and tank but nice for casually going around the lake or fishing. Lake is great for fishing.

Great Lake house

Perfect location for a family getaway. This place has everything we wanted and more! Loved being able to fish off the deck and play in the sand. House had great amenities and toys for the kiddos.

Fun family wedding.

Had a wonderful stay at Brad’s lake home. The location was perfect for my son’s wedding on Lake Dubay. The lake house is more beautiful in person, tastefully decorated in the up north lake appeal. The lake front is gorgeous. The house was well stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this beautiful home.
