About this property
Panoramic Country Views ~ Wildlife, Butterflies & Birds ~ Star-gazing ~ Hiking
Panoramic views surround Ash Creek Hideaway, this perfect escape. Relax in the peaceful Hill Country at our three-bedroom, two-bath home just a couple miles north of Leakey. Enjoy sitting and visiting on the front porch lined in 10 comfortable chairs and rockers, in the back yard watching the wildlife, or after dark star gazing.
Experience country family living on three acres covered with large shade trees that create a pleasant area for outdoor picnics, barbecues, and entertainment. A seasonal creek and springs are inviting to the wildlife. The whitetail deer, and an occasional axis, feed daily. Birds, jack rabbits, and squirrels frequent the feeders and provide hours of enjoyment and relaxation. Seasonal Hummingbirds, Purple Martins, and butterflies passing through can create hours of watching and entertainment. It’s not unusual for the raccoons and armadillos to be seen.
The house has sleeping accommodations for 12 people and linens are provided for the main beds. Enjoy the fresh air blowing through the open windows in the spring or the fireplace on a cool winter night. Central heat and air-conditioning, a fully equipped, newly remodeled kitchen, includes dishes, a dishwasher, and washer and dryer are a few of the amenities. Satellite television on the large Smart TV is included along with internet and a landline telephone.
The large, fenced yard is a nice place for your kids and outdoor pets to enjoy your travels too.
Access to the Frio River is available at river crossings in town, on the Rio Frio Road, Utopia Road, and the road to Vanderpool, several pay locations, and at Garner State Park. Whether a trip to the Frio River, some hiking at Lost Maples State Park, a weekend get-away to the country, a week of bird watching, or a quiet romantic time is what you are looking for, we hope you and your family enjoy your stay at Ash Creek Hideaway!

Why they chose this property
As a newlywed couple looking to "move up" in the coaching field, my husband took a job at the Leakey ISD to be a head basketball coach and science teacher. The small Class A school was very inviting, the community was very welcoming to the new teacher and coach in town. Housing was slim but a sweet, retired lady who owned this beautiful ranch, out of town a couple of miles, sold us three acres on this gorgeous, secluded ranch where we built what is now Ash Creek Hideaway. We were the only full-time residents on the 4 miles country road and enjoyed watching over the properties. We lived here a few years and moved on to be closer to help our aging families but always loved the peacefulness of Ash Creek Road.
What makes this property unique
Beautiful relaxing country views from every direction you look and out every window of this three-acre property. Comfy chairs and rockers line the front porch and a fenced yard for your children and outdoor pets make for a relaxing stay. The inside fireplace and outside fire pit are unbeatable! Just in case you want to do some outside cooking, there is a barrel BBQ pit, a smaller BBQ pit, and 3 picnic tables. Enjoy a game of ping-pong, cornhole, horseshoes, or washer pitching. Your visit will very likely include seeing deer, squirrels, armadillos, bluebirds, butterflies, and seasonal purple martins and hummingbirds.
