R and R Guesthouse -Beautiful Vacation Rental

This is a beautiful turn of the century classic home which has been completely updated to todays standards and expectations. A unique blend of classic charm and contemporary finish.


This property is ideal for an intimate and exclusive stay. Can accommodate 8 people maximum. An incredible home to enjoy with a small family or small group of friends! *Note: The owners /operators of this property stay in the private, self contained basement apartment. After check in you will only see them if requested.


There are a total of four bedrooms; two with King beds, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. There are four full bathrooms and one half bath. Luxury tiled bathrooms, towels, and bedding are provided. Each room has it's own AC / Heat mini split unit for ultimate climate control. There is a fully equipped kitchen, we have a Sonos in-house and outdoors sound system, media / TV room, inside lounge seating areas, inside and outside dinning areas, private outdoor space with heated pool, deluxe 6 person hot tub, deluxe Webber grill, a large fire circle area, and several outdoor lounge areas.Guests have access and use of entire property excluding the basement apartment.


Only registered guest are allowed on the property. Owners reside in basement apartment of house. Owners will provide checkin welcome. Owners will only be seen upon request for assistance etc.


The R&R guesthouse is located in the center of the city with walkable distance through neighborhoods to the downtown areas. Many of the points of interest are within a walks distance. Everything in the city is 5 min. or less by car.Local Taxi service is available. Road cycling in the area is phenomenal !Secure storage space for gear.


Parking for a maximum of three cars. No Pets allowed. Children must be supervised due to safety concerns with pool. Smoking is prohibited inside the house.

The home is very comfortable and I personally found it hard to pack up and leave at the end of our stay, it felt so much like home. Kevin was a very accommodating and gracious host and we had want for nothing during our stay.The patio, pool and hot tub were our outdoor oasis when not exploring The Dalles or surrounding areas. After a long day of white water rafting the very cool waters of Deschutes River or an early morning of Salmon fishing the Columbia River Gorge, we all warmed up in the hot tub and unwound in the refreshing pool.

Beautiful, relaxing house

The house is beautiful with a very manicured yard, so many flowers! We spent a week here and my kids never got bored of the pool and hot tub. We ate outside for every meal in the very private back yard. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. I would certainly recommend staying for couples or anyone who wants to get away and relax.

The Perfect Vacation Home

Our group of 8 came to the Dalles to paint murals with the Walldog’s and were blown away by the beauty of this lovely home. The house was clean and organized, beds were comfy, pool and hot tub were delightful, location is great, and hosts are sweet and helpful. It was difficult to leave. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!!!!

Standout vacation home with gorgeous garden and pool

We are a young family with five kids (age 9 mos up to 13 years) and we had such a great experience staying at R&R. The hosts Kevin and Julie have been attentive to every detail. They've gone above and beyond to make the indoor and outdoor spaces both beautiful and functional. The backyard saltwater pool was a hit with our whole family. We loved staying here and would highly recommend it.

The Ryans are terrific hosts and provide an overview of all the amenities upon arrival. They provide all the small conveniences you'd like to see and many more unexpected items to make your stay perfect. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. The showers and towels feel like those in a luxury hotel! The kitchen is over the top stocked. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to visit the area.

A little paradise

We wanted a place with a pool so that the grandkids could practice their swimming skills. I found this in The Dalles, and although there’s not a lot of things to do there, this was a perfect spot for our trip! The gardens, pool, and outdoor areas were beautiful and lovingly maintained. Every day I found something new to enchant me. We enjoyed our time there drinking coffee in the morning and eating dinner at night. The house has an updated kitchen with all the tools you can imagine needing to cook with. The owners were available and welcoming. Great place!

Family reunion

Family from Virginia and Ohio joined family in Oregon for an extraordinary reunion. The house is beautiful, has enough bedrooms and bathrooms to give everyone privacy when needed. The communal spaces were spectacular inside and outside. The kitchen is better equipped than most professional spaces. Anything you can think of to cook with is there. The location gave us easy access to Columbia River trails, the oldest book store in Oregon, the town of Hood River, and lakes and hiking trails The hosts are the gold standards for landlords!

Memorial relief

From first communication to final leaving the property Kevin and Julie could not have been more responsive, helpful and gracious. This property is a knock out. The house and yards are configured for relaxation and the kitchen is to die for! The pool and hot tub add to the glorious landscaping. I had a difficult day when memorializing my sisters passing but coming back to R&R Guesthouse was a comfort. Now I need to find an excuse to visit once again. Three Generations reunion

What a perfect place to celebrate family with children, parents and grandparents! The house was perfect for all of our needs. From the amazingly comfortable beds, to plenty of bathrooms, to the multiple places to sit and read, to a kitchen that was better equipped than a Williams Sonoma store! The outdoor was a garden of Eden with its spectacular plants and flowers, choice of seating in the sun or shade or in the breeze or a calm shelter in the corner. Kevin and Julie were incredibly welcoming not just to the adults but to the children as well. We knew immediately that they wanted us to enjoy every detail of the home. Memories of our week in paradise will bring us joy for years to come!

GREAT STAY!

The property is beautiful and has great amenities! Our party consisted of 8 and we were all able to have our own comfortable space. All the rooms were comfortable and a great size. There were plenty of bathrooms, which was needed since we were getting ready for a wedding. You can tell when the owners remodeled this home, they really put thought into it and nailed it! The backyard was the best part though! A great pool and jacuzzi. We ended up spending most of our time out there. The pool was the perfect temperature for day and night. Last but not least, the owners were so great! They welcomed us with smiles and made sure to show us everything there is about the home. They showed us how to utilize all the tech, including the speakers that can be utilized inside and outside the home. They also left us a yummy welcome gift 🙂.they also gave great recommendations for food in the area . When we left, we all decided we would stay at this property again. My sister, who lives in Salem, also immediately started to tell her friends and husband about the property so they can experience it as well.

Wonderful oasis in the The Dalles

This is a lovely restored historic home. The entire house has been updated while maintaining old world charm and is furnished with many antiques. The bathrooms have been beautifully remodeled as well as the kitchen with top of the line appliances. The back yard is fully enclosed with a privacy fence and is truly an oasis with lush landscaping and greenery. Between the pool, hot tub and multiple seating areas we spent very little time indoors. Also, we appreciated how clean things were, inside and out.

Lovely backyard oasis

It was a lovely stay, especially during the pandemic when we wanted a place to relax as a family that didn’t require we leave the house all that much. We used the pool every day all day. The backyard is truly an oasis. The one bit of feedback I’d call out is that the check in process felt a bit uncomfortable specifically because we are in the midst of a pandemic. I would have preferred our hosts not enter the home to give us a tour even though we were all masked. With an unvaccinated child in tow, we’re being overly cautious, and that created anxiety among our group. The cleaning that happened prior to our arrival felt like it didn’t really matter when during the tour, our host was touching light switches, temperature controls, etc. If that could be tweaked, I’d say it was 5 stars otherwise!

Perfect family summer get away

This home is perfect for a summer get away. It is impeccably clean, and the kitchen is stocked to really cook, which we do often when we travel. The backyard is an oasis, and our children practically lived in the pool in the summer heat. Kevin and Julie are the most gracious of hosts, and ensured we had everything we needed. Great vacation home!

We had a very enjoyable stay here in The Dalles. The house is well maintained and well stocked. The outside is amazing-we swam in the pool daily and had meal outside in the numerous seating areas. It was too hot to try out the hot tub - it was clean and ready to enjoy. The owners were responsive to answering questions.

Paradise in The Dalles

We had an amazing stay! Kevin and Julie were absolutely charming. They toured my partner and my mom around the house on arrival and then graciously gave our family complete privacy for the duration of our stay. The home is absolutely wonderful. Pictures truly don't do it justice. They've updated the house perfectly. The kitchen and bathrooms are right out of a magazine. We used every one of the four bedrooms--five star reviews on comfort- from the linens to the mattresses to the air conditioning that kept the house very comfortable during an epic heat wave. The best part of the whole home in my opinion is the backyard. It's a gardeners paradise - and the pool was a huge hit. I can't thank the Ryan's enough for a truly wonderful stay.

Beautiful House with Amazing Patio and Yard

Had a great stay. Had a family get together for 4 nights and the place was amazing. Very beautiful house and the pool, spa and patio were wonderful. House was very spacious and allowed for private space when needed. Hosts very helpful and available for questions the whole time, but left us alone after checking in. The Dalles is a little further away from Hood River, but this house makes it worth it. Would love to stay again.

Fantastic House

It felt like an oasis to stay here. Lots of space for a big group. 2 queens, a full bath, and small kitchen in basement. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on top floor. The outdoor space is lovely. Be aware that the salt pool is not heated and is not in the sun most of the day. The hot tub is huge and well-maintained. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful time over a long weekend at the R&R. The house worked great for 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids). The kitchen was well equipped, the gardens beautifully maintained, bedrooms comfy, and the pool was hours of fun for the kiddos. Quite spacious with room for all. Kevin was very helpful to ensure our stay went smoothly. We can't wait to come back!
