The property was both secluded and quiet, but also walking distance to town, which made it a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city/suburb living, while still being convenient to civilization (restaurants, shops, etc.).
The house was spotless, neat and clean when we arrived. We had everything we needed in the spacious, updated country kitchen with a huge center island. We enjoyed using both the deck and the spacious dining room for breakfast, cocktail hour and dinner when we ate at home.
The house was equipped with clean, white linens on the beds, which were very comfortable, and plenty of clean, white towels in the updated bathroom.
In the evenings we had access to cable TV, Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming.
The house even has a generator that kicked in to provide electricity when we lost it due to the hurricane that brushed through VT with very heavy winds (tornado warnings were in effect) and rain on the second night we were there. What a relief to have that convenience!
The owner, Bridget, was always responsive to our questions and provided us with lots of options for restaurants, shopping and hiking trails.
Overall, my friend and I could not have asked for a more perfect place to get away from it all. We hope to be able to go back again.
