Nothing about this house or its location disappoints. Fantastic space, both in and out of the house, made it a pleasure to relax, cook and take in the area around us. The location couldn’t not be better with just a meander to the nearest restaurants and coffee. John was a great host; there were no snags at any part of the process. If one needs a place for a few days of a Lennoxian summer, this place may just be the one.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very well kept and had tons of character. Very welcoming. Felt like home. Plenty of room and very clean and comfortable. It is in a great location, walkable to everything in Historic Downtown Lenox and just a short drive to Lee, Tanglewood, Stockbridge and other great Berkshire locations. The outside covered deck and fire pit area are great spots to enjoy a quiet, fall evening. John is a great host and was very responsive. We had a smoke/CO detector chirping and with a quick phone call, he was there with new batteries for all of the detectors within minutes. There is also a packet in the house with info on restaurants, shops etc close by.
We couldn’t have asked for better. The location was amazing, one block from the main street of the Lennox historic area. The house was large, clean, well supplied and appointed, and well worth the price . The three bedrooms have a queen; another queen; and two doubles. The air conditioning came in very handy as it was a very hit weekend. The area is quiet and residential, but close to everything. And two blocks away is the visitor’s center, where we got discount show tickets (thanks to Cameron for telling us about this). We’d definitely recommend it and would come back again.
Fantastic location, plenty of space and storage. Nice back porch. But…It was not clean. There was a lot of dust – and a lot of dog hair, despite it being a no-pets property. (See pics.) We first assumed that the previous guests had ignored the rule and brought a dog. But there was so much of it, we wondered if the owner had a dog. Regardless, if either of us were allergic to dogs, it could have been a bad situation. John, the host, did text us later that day that the cleaning people would come the next morning. (As we had already unpacked and our stuff was out, we declined and said we would clean it ourselves.)Also, when we went to use the grill, we found it was dirty and there was a corn cob sitting on it. (See pic.) I texted John about it, including the pic, but it remained that way our entire stay. So we never used it.The house was not well-stocked. When we arrived, there was one paper towel roll and no toilet paper in the powder room, and the liquid hand soap in the powder room was almost empty. We told John and he brought over toilet paper, paper towel and bars of soap. Also, there were only two bowls in the cabinet – enough for us, but larger parties should know that they need to bring some. Finally, “Renovated” in the title is misleading. I'm not sure when it was renovated, but the house needs a serious refresh, especially the bathrooms, which are very outdated, with small, low toilets. The sheets were old, frayed and stained. Towels were plentiful and fine.
My wife and I enjoyed our ten days in this charming house. The front porch and back deck were great. And we loved how it was so close to everything in Lenox. Our one suggestion would be to add a toaster in the kitchen.
5 min walk to ice cream, pizza, bagels, & 4 NYC quality restaurants
Great property. On the edge of town but on a quiet side street. 1 mile from Tanglewood. Charming house and well equipped. Only drawback is a small living room and a single bathroom for 3 bedrooms. Ok for a family and kids, but awkward for 3 adult couples. We would definitely stay again.
Our trip to The Berkshires was definitely enhanced by our stay at John's home! It is well-equipped and comfortable and the location could not be better. We were a 5-minute walk to terrific restaurants and shops, and although we chose to drive to Tanglewood you could absolutely walk if you are so inclined. We stayed in to cook one evening and found everything we needed in the kitchen - and our guests enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the fire pit in the backyard for s'mores. Added bonus: there's a park with swings across the street! The property manager, Cameron, was responsive and helpful.

Thank you Leslie. I am glad you enjoyed the house and it makes me even more happy you utilized the kitchen !!
John is a dream to deal with and his home is perfect. The location couldn’t be better and the grill, fire pit and porch, make for wonderful evenings. Surrounded by beautiful gardens is the icing on the holiday rental cake!
