About this property

Cottage, great for a couple or small family.

This cottage has a wonderful front porch for enjoying sitting outside and relaxing. The view is of Teeters campground. It was renovated in 2018 and a second bedroom was added in 2019. It is a two bedroom (queen in the master and bunk beds in the other)we do NOT provide sheets, one bath, open floor plan with living room and kitchen. The kitchen is very basic, if you are planning to cook gourmet meals, this is NOT the place for you. Ocracoke has many wonderful restaurants. The location is within walking distance to Silver Lake and the shops and restaurants and is spitting distance from the British Cemetery. The beach is a mile from the rental. There is a Smart TV in the first bedroom and living room with internet and cable. You will need your own Netflix, Hulu or Amazon account, and for those that are not tech savvy, we have cable. We do NOT post on Craigslist, so if you see it there it is not us renting it. We only go through VRBO/Home Away.

We do not offer refunds for weather related cancellations, ferry issues or illness. We highly recommend that you purchase optional travel insurance. If you want to do early check in there is an additional $45 fee. It is extra added stress for our cleaners to have everything ready for those that get here on an early ferry. Normal check in time is 3:30 pm and check out time is 11:00. If you want to check out late it is a $100 fee.

Great place to stay

This was a very nice cottage for my wife and I and our little dog. It's very clean and well kept and had everything that we needed for our stay in Ocracoke. There was a golf cart at the house that we rented from the owners and it got us where we wanted to go around town. We'll be staying here again.

We really enjoyed our time in Ocracoke. The Buccaneer was perfect for our family. Probably the only downside was the spotty internet at times. But, that was a minor thing. Overall--great place and a great vacation

A hidden gem on Ocracoke!

This is our second year in a row staying at The Buccaneer in Ocracoke. The property is perfect for me any my son, though there is just us two the property can comfortably house 4. We are a family of 4 that loves Ocracoke. We live on a small farm in NC with our 3 dogs and 6 fainting goats. Our goat Yoshi is in the photo, trying to get to the top of the hay bale.

Why they chose this property

The Buccaneer is not much to look at on the outside, but once you walk in it is clean, homey, and beautifully decorated. A local spent the winter choosing just the right everything to make the Buccaneer perfect. The property was formally my children's favorite shop on the island, Candyland.

What makes this property unique

This cottage is was renovated in 2018 and has a wonderful front porch that will allow you to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
