My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and LOVED it. We've stayed in Ocracoke many times but this takes the cake. It was perfect for just us two and will 110% be booking this place everytime.
The house was charming and in a great location. Easy walk to restaurants and shops. The only downside was the low ceiling in the bedroom. My husband is 6’1 and it was a little challenging for him. Wonderful place to stay on Ocracoke!
This tiny little bird house was perfect for a quick somewhat last minute weekend trip to our happy place. Worked out great as it was between Memorial and Independence Days so nothing was too crowded and there was no wait at any of our favorite restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is located in a quiet but convenient area - lots of birds to watch from the darling screened porch. Our host was so helpful and always replied right away to any questions. It was a great place to come home to after a long day out in the heat and humidity!
cozy little spot to spend a few nights. The kitchen was well stocked, the bathroom was clean, and I loved the screened porch. I didn’t spend a ton of time there, but was able to see great egrets, blue herons, green herons, and turtles in the creek. Communication with Katie was very easy. I would definitely stay here again
My husband and I had an amazing time at Birdland! The home itself was well-maintained, clean, and a great size for just the two of us. The location was perfect - peaceful and tucked away just enough to feel like a retreat, yet still close to restaurants, shops, and the beach. Communication with the owner was excellent from start to finish with quick responses, helpful information, and a genuine sense of hospitality. We certainly will be looking to stay here again the next time we visit Ocracoke and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-managed place to stay!
My husband and I stayed here the last week of August. Due to hurricane Erin coming in we were not able to get to the property until Saturday, we were supposed to arrive on Friday, but the Ferry was down. Katie was so helpful and even offered a discount due to losing a day, but we got to stay an extra day. We enjoyed this quiet, simple place and the pictures are just the way it is. We enjoyed cooking on the grill by the water inlet and the evening unwind on the screened in porch. I would totally stay here again. It was very clean and well taken care of and easily within walking distance or cycling to the village. We did a lot of walking and enjoyed it very much. Totally recommend checking this cute cottage out.
Tucked down a quiet lane, this cottage feels wonderfully private yet is an easy walk or bike ride to Ocracoke Village. The screened-in porch overlooks a marsh alive with sea birds, cicadas, bullfrogs, fiddler crabs, and old live oaks—an inspiring backdrop for a solo escape, a romantic getaway, or a writer’s retreat.Note: the staircase is very steep and the bedroom ceiling is low, so anyone with mobility issues may find it challenging. For everyone else, it’s close to perfect. I’d happily stay again.
Perfect Marsh Hideaway in OcracokeThis tiny house exceeded all our expectations! Perfectly sized for two people, it offers everything you need in a cozy, well-designed space. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel truly welcome. The location is absolutely magical - tucked away in a secluded spot right on the marsh where we were treated to an amazing variety of birds and even a adorable little duck that became our daily entertainment. Despite feeling like you’re in your own private nature sanctuary, you’re still just a short walk to all of Ocracoke’s wonderful restaurants and shops. The peaceful mornings watching wildlife from the house were some of the highlights of our trip. You get the best of both worlds - tranquil seclusion when you want to relax, and easy access to the charming village when you’re ready to explore.Pro tip: Definitely rent a golf cart to get around this delightful town - it’s the perfect way to experience Ocracoke’s unique charm and makes everything so much more fun!We can’t wait to return to this special little slice of paradise. Highly recommend to any couple looking for a unique and memorable getaway!
We loved this little cottage and hope to return again. Simple, minimal yet so much thought and care went into making it guest friendly. It seems to be a fairly new remodel and is cute, well-thought-out and super clean. There’s a little screened front porch for coffee or meals and a small, wooden table with two chairs outdoors next to the canal. We rented a kayak and paddled several times from the backyard out to the end of the island and around the corner to Springer Preserve where we got out to enjoy the wooded trails. It’s close to the beach, a bait shop, and a grocery store that had a wide variety of goods. There are no homes nearby on three sides and there are a chorus of birds singing all day. As the owners make clear, access to the bed upstairs is not an easy climb for anyone with mobility or steadiness challenges. If you love the outdoors and the ability to come home to a tiny house and chill in nature, this was a great spot for us.
