This place is incredible! It was exactly the kind of spot I was looking for. They have a beautiful, fenced in backyard that was perfect for the dogs. The house is beautiful, very clean, and centrally located to the town and a number of great hikes. Will definitely be back!
Such a great and welcoming cabin! The retro mid century modern furnishings were on point and it had everything we needed. The loft was so cozy and the bed and bedding luxurious. We slept so good! We would love to come back in the Spring or Summer!
The place was exactly as described. It personally exceeded our expectations. Comfortable, clean, and the surrounding area is very quiet. Very close to town. It's worth spending a few days there. Thank you
We had a great time here. Close enough to town for the tourist stuff, remote enough for peace and quiet. All the comforts of home. The pool was super clean and well maintained.

Great location w. easy access to Julian
Highly recommended stay!
As we pulled into the driveway of the A-Frame and saw the welcoming sign that said "You're Here!", snow began to dust my windshield. This quickly became a hailstorm which gave way to a heavy snowfall. Giant flakes fluttered to the ground as we explored our new digs and my kids and I quickly headed out to build a snowman, The retreat must be packed with renters in the warmer months. During our stay in early March, I think we saw three other people the entire time. That just enhanced the feeling of having our own little secluded spot in the mountains. The place is large and open with stylish mid-century furniture/fixtures. Everything we needed was provided-- though some items (like a microwave) aren't mentioned in the listing and others were a little hard to find-- but everything was there. All of the appliances, plumbing, etc. worked well. No complaints there. The best part was the super comfy king-size bed up in the loft (with the spacious deck outside). Perfect for snuggling with my kids in the morning as we planned our days. Jill was an excellent host, too. Many questions asked and answered promptly. All in all-- just a great place to spend a snowy weekend. We'll be back!
The A-frame was in great condition and we enjoyed our stay. It's close to the center of Julian for a quick drive and our toddler son had a lot of fun in the fenced in back yard
My girlfriend and I wanted to get out of San Diego for a couple of days and this place worked perfectly. Interesting & inviting space, clean, and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the swinging chair and hammock in the manicured backyard. We would definitely return.
Quite time- scenery excellent - just like when we used to have a site here- the a-frame was a nice surprise. Totally enjoyed are time here. Already recommended to others. Planning on returning . thank you.
We loved this property. There was just 4 of us (and a dog) and it was perfect. The owner was very responsive to all my inquiries so we really appreciated that. My only wish is that there was more than 1 bathroom, but a minimal con for us! Definitely will rent again! Thank you!! <3

Cozy and cute
We came here to have easy access to the desert to see the super bloom. It was nice to experience the transition from mountain to desert. Julian is two miles away and has decent restaurants. Very friendly people. The cabin was well appointed. We didn’t get to experience much of the outdoors as it rained while we were here but the backyard is fenced and convenient for letting the dog out to roam safely. Beds and seating were comfortable. Heat worked very well in the cold weather.

My parents have owned Pinecrest Retreat for the past 12 years and I have been running the show with my husband for the past 5. I grew up in Julian and am pleased to be home to run the family business.
What makes this property unique
Pinecrest Retreat is unique place as it was founded in 1961 by General Dynamics Corporation, Convair (an American aircraft manufacturing company) as a place for their employees to recreate. By 1994 General Dynamics sold the Convair Division and Pinecrest was sold into private ownership. Pinecrest Retreat is a vintage trailer park due to the old-time relics left behind from 1961. Our mission today is to connect people with nature, community and the classic American travel-trailers.
