OCEANFRONT Avon- Moore Way As its name implies, this charming retreat is right beside the surf - on a pleasant cul-de-sac in central Avon - but it's also convenient to the Kinnakeet Shores community pool & tennis courts, the post office, and a variety of enchanting shops and restaurants. The ground level has two carports, an outside shower, and a convenient table for cleaning the day's catch. Four bedrooms on level two with three bedrooms offering direct access to furnished oceanfront decks, as does the spectacular master suite on level three. There's nothing like leaning on the railing of an oceanfront deck, having your morning coffee and watching the surf roll in. Is there a better way to begin each day? In addition to comfortable sleeping quarters, the third level features a beautifully decorated great room with cathedral ceiling, kitchen and dining area, and views galore. Rounding out amenities are access to an extensive video library. When you're SURF SIDE, what more could you want?

Hurricane Dorian prevented us from taking residence in the rental home ...this review made me make a choice on the ratings...the house looked great in the photos..very disappointed we couldn't go..hope to reschedule next year.

Worth it

Great location, nicely laid out home, and easy short walk to the beach for the little ones and the older folks in our group. Spectacular views and lots of space for our family to make memories. Close enough to a few good restaurants and a food lion (all within about a mile). Easy keyless check in process. Maintenance came twice (to change filters and check chlorine in the hot tub) but he was quick and non-intrusive. We had no issues 😭 with the house and we were able to enjoy our stay comfortably. I am strongly considering coming back next year if it's still available.

Issue _NO HOT WATER

We had no hot water at the time of check in, was not repaired until Tuesday of our trip. Question the cleanliness of the property without hot water to clean. Also, still waiting for communication from surforsound realty, several messages left and no response. We expect compensation for the issue.

Nice house, unfortunately...

Great location, nice beach front house in need of updating. Short shag carpet and suede sofas contributed to unpleasant smell. Carpet was wet upon arrival so thinking it was cleaned, but three families unpacking on wet carpet was a bit challenging. However the bathrooms were not clean, with sand and hair in the tub and shower, and prior tenant’s dirty clothes left under a sink. Refrigerator had stray hair and stopped working. Thankfully there was another on the lower level 3 flights of status down. We did not use the hot tub, unsure of its cleanliness, but a gentlemen came to check and maintain it and it was clean. Despite everything, we made the best of it, cleaned ourselves and managed to have a good week. Surf or Sound property managers were very accommodating and pleasant to work with and are following up to address concerns.

Our stay at #287 Surf or Sound

The property and location were great along the with the amenities of the pool but the cleanliness of the house was a true disappointment. Dirty carpets and rugs, bathrooms not as clean as they should have been with hair stuck in the drain, mold on shower liner and vents, dust hanging out of the vents and Stained furniture. Lovely home but for what we paid for the week we felt that the house should have been much cleaner than it was.
