Thank you for sharing for future guests. We hope to see you again soon.
Beautiful setting just not in the best shape needs to be fully cleans bugs all over. Speeding trucks and ATVs Flying down the road. Leaking roof and flys on the windows with sticky tape. Door on patio has to
Be locked from
The outside so that means you have to take the stairs all the way down a flight after grilling to lock the house and go around to the front door. The home just needs to have some updates and cleaned it could be a beautiful place.
I cannot say enough about this house. It is everything you could want in a mountain vacation home. The stunning views, backyard creek, separate fishing lodge, friendly horses, a wonderfully inviting living space, the proximity to the Yellowstone river and national park...this house was a cornerstone in our family vacation. The owners also provided a wealth of information on the house - its history and workings - as well as plenty of reading material if you should find yourself with time to spare. And if you are at all concerned with the lack of a/c (like I was) allow me to put you at ease. Outside temperatures were in the 80s and 90s every day during our visit and NOT ONCE did the house feel the least bit uncomfortable. If we return to the area in the future, it will be to this house.
My husband and I traveled with our Moms to Yellowstone; this house was perfect for our purposes. It was equipped with everything you may need to enjoy your stay. It was approximately 30 minutes from the NW gate entrance to Yellowstone. We particularly enjoyed listening to the brook behind the house in the evenings with the windows opened. In the evenings we sat outside on the front porch and enjoyed the rocking chairs taking in the beautiful views. We're from the south and thought I'd miss air conditioning, but there was only 1 evening that was a little warm in the house but through the night it quickly cooled off, so no complaints! Another guilty pleasure we missed and recommend is TVs in the bedrooms. While we were certainly one-with-nature during our visit, we still enjoy unwinding in bed to a good episode of Friends:) Finally, the WIFI in the house was either not working or we didn't know how to access it properly. These couple of minor inconveniences are nearly immaterial to the awesome time I and my family had at your cabin. It was beautiful and very nicely appointed and decorated. Thank you for hosting us! We will certainly be back.
Close to the north yellowstone gate(but closed due to the floods). Still had plenty to do and drove to the west gate one day. Property was clean and private, really nice.
Three couple stayed at the house and had a wonderful time. The house was in a great location where we could get to the park easy and to emigrant as well. I highly recommend the house to everyone.
This cabin is amazing and has everything you could possibly need and then some. A creek runs through the property and I loved falling asleep to the sound of the water cascading on the rocks. The water is crystal clear. It was a true mountain cabin experience. My family loved it and can’t wait to return. You must go rafting and fishing. The Yellowstone River is literally within a few feet. We didn’t see any bears but plenty of elk and Buffalo. I highly recommend this cabin. You’ll love it, I promise. We didn’t want to leave, but we plan on returning and staying longer.

absolutely beautiful, peaceful and quiet
We really loved this home. Very spacious and well stocked. Peaceful and quiet. So many places to sit out and just enjoy the wildlife and each others company. Very rejuvenating. We spent hours sitting on the decks in the mornings wrapped in blankets which we shed when the wind stopped blowing. The sound of the water flowing was also very relaxing and tranquil. Spent a couple hours reading in the hammocks out by the river. Loved it. Only thing we found unpleasant was the bridge was out and you would have to drive down a long, winding gravel road. They are working on the bridge but once you were back at the house you forgot about the road. Some of the locks on the doors were a little tricky but never had any problems. We played cards at the cabin that was down on the river which was also amazing Yellowstone was about 15 to 20 minutes to the north entrance. The house was very clean. We loved the Wild Flower Bakery in Emigrant and Follow your nose BBQ right next door to the Wild Flower Bakery. Would diffidently stay here again.

Hello Janet - Your stay at Ashling Ranch sounds like the definition of a relaxing retreat. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. And sorry about the bridge repair - it's temporary of course, but you hit it when it was in full swing. Happy too that you appreciated the well-stocked house. All of the homes that we care for are stocked with the basics for guests - paper towels, TP, laundry soap, dish soap, hand soap and spices. We want you to be able to settle into vacation mode as quickly as possible, so this is the least we can do! - Suzy at Mountain Home Vacation Rentals
