Excellent oroperty in ideal location

Very well appointed and comfortable with loads of space and superb view of Casa Battyo from the balcony. Plenty of nearby restsurants and a steady stream of taxis. A very welcome elevator at the end of the day.

We had a wonderful stay here. We had 5 people and it was very spacious right in the heart of the action! A great location within walking distance to many amazing restaurants and shops and museums!

Great stay in all senses!

This is a great apartment to enjoy Barcelona in a brilliant way. It is a fantastic apartment, very quiet and comfortable, well located, with metros and other transports close by, great restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets all around. Besides, Ingrid and Manu were very kind, from check-in to check-out. Thank you, I hope I go back soon!

Fabulous stay!

The apartment is just great and its location is fabulous! The apartment is open and spacious, with great light and view. We rapidly got used to climbing three floors. Noise from the ongoing renovation was minimal, almost non-existent. I would love to go back!

Great place, disappointing construction

Loved the apartment. Loved the location. Manu was super nice. Sadly, we would not return because the chaos of the construction (8am until after 5:30 pm) made it less than relaxing for us. The noise, debris, and yelling of the workers was not worth it for us.

Beautiful Apartment

The apartment was just as beautiful as the pictures! The beds were so cozy, great showers with excellent water pressure and, the place was immaculate. The building was under construction, and while we did not notice ANY sort of construction dust in the apartment at all…the stairs were brutal (especially when carrying our suitcases up and down) and probably should have been mentioned in the listing. There was also a city tax that we had to pay upon checking in in cash that we could not find mentioned in the listing, however, after doing much research, it is a very common fee to pay….so just be prepared. Check in was super easy, and the apartment was centrally located to so many great bakeries and restaurants. We would stay here again without question!!

Great center location

I had read the reviews months ago regarding the construction but assumed it would be completed before our arrival. Sadly that was not the case. The construction was a surprise and the lack of elevators made the 4 flights of stairs exhausting in the humidity. But, once we got over that realization, the apartment is lovely! Everything in the description was accurate. It was comfortable, the AC was great and the views of Casa Batllo was a highlight. There were rooftop concerts each night and we enjoyed the music.

Good location, HOWEVER, we were in the middle of a construction zone - common areas (entry, stairs, elevator (not working) - dust, debri, exposed wires, hazards, inconvenience, noise - It may be worth the price once renovation is completed but certainly NOT in current condition. There was a power failure in building when checking out - difficult to manuever 3 flights of dark stairways to get out. Communication was not the greatest - never got address or check in info until 24-48 hours before arrival - way too late, especially when we were in transit and having to make pickup arrangements for other activities. Wasn't wild about getting a text 24 hrs before arrivial re: having to pay in cash an additional 60 euros (5 euro per person, per night) tax upon checkin.

Nice apartment, but building ongoing renovations

The apartment was nice and clean. Nice fully equipped kitchen. Location is great! Washer/dryer combo which doesn’t completely dry clothes, but it worked OK. Listing show parking as an amenity and this is jot true. Public parking is across the street available for $45/day. Listing does not mention that there is no active elevator and that the building is undergoing renovation. Machinery noise starts at 7AM and goes all day including power drills, hammering, power saws, etc. Communication with the host is pretty much nonexistent. She doesn’t respond at all even before arrival. The only contact was at checkin with her “partner”. She’s probably not available because she knows that all guests would complain about the state of the building.

Great stay

My family loved the courtyard view with casa Batlo. The location was amazing. Felt safe and so convenient. Inside the apartment was very clean and beds were really comfortable. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Washing machine worked well but no tumble dryer, which I assume normal in Europe. Coffee pods weren't there so I didn't use the espresso machine (I believe it was nespresso) but so many cafes on the street so it was fine. An americano coffee, prosciutto baguette sandwich, and empanada (I know it's called something else) from downstairs cafe were amazing just fyi! Construction starts around 8-9am every weekday and one morning it was very loud with drilling noise and that was the worst part of the stay. But workers get quiet around 10-11am (going to lunch?) so it doesnt last that long. For other mornings, construction workers were singing loud and woke me up but it was nice Spanish music and I kind of enjoyed it. lol. Unfortunately it doesn't look like construction will be finished anytime soon. We were totally fine with no elevator but the apartment is basically on the 3rd floor. The price is very reasonable because of construction so my family was aware and we were okay with these cons. Over all, we loved staying here!!

Absolutely Wonderful!!!

Our family of five (2 adults and 3 children - 8, 11, and 13) stayed at this stunning place for 4 nights to end our 4 week vacation through France and Catalonia. Communication/Check-In: Ingrid and Manu were easily reachable and responsive to all of our inquiries. They reached out to us prior to our arrival and provided clear instructions. Manu met us and showed us into the apartment and how everything worked. Construction: Yes the building is undergoing a reno. There is some minor dust in the outer stairs. There is a double door to the apartment entry and the place is immaculate with no signs of anything once inside. There is noise M to F that starts around 8:30. It’s most audible from the bedroom with the bunk beds but not bad at all throughout the remainder of the apartment. However, we were on vacation and were up before they started. It did not bother us one bit and we were out of the building most of the day anyway (why travel to sit inside all day). Stairs: Yes there are stairs but it’s Europe and to be expected if you are not staying in hotels. Minor thing compared to all the walking required to explore the amazing city! Apartment: Absolutely stunning and well maintained with central AC. Better than the photos. The balcony overlooks the back of Casa Batllo and perfect for an evening cocktail. Close to shopping, restaurants, subway lines, etc. Overall I would rate it higher than a 5 if I could. Amazing apartment in a perfect location with fantastic hosts!

Beautiful, but beware

Read and trust the previous reviews! I did not. I assumed the construction would be over and the owner couldn't be that hard to get in touch with. My fault. Positives: it's a BEAUTIFUL space. We loved the apartment, the location, the courtyard/balconies. Negatives: we also fell prey to not being let in. I actually paid an entire extra day, so we could check in early. We were left sitting on the street and in a construction site (no exaggeration) for a couple of hours waiting for someone to show up- who was IN THE BUILDING the entire time. With 3 exhausted boys this was rough. VRBO finally reached someone and then assured me the owner would be available all week for anything else. Never heard from her again. The dryer in the apartment never worked. There are clear instructions, but they are just wrong. I reached out to the owner- never heard back. For a mom who prefers VRBO to hotels for the laundry, this was tough. I had to hang all of our clothes off the balcony and much of my trip became about laundry. Construction-WOW. The entry to the building was complete destruction; plywood and cement dust for floors. Jackhammers and yelling start at 8am every day. Is this a risk you take in a big/old city? Yes. Would this effect you if you were up and out to explore by 8am every day? Nope! But for a family with teens/kids, this was really tough. Barcelona is a night time city! So early wake ups on vacation with jetlag were rough. I cannot express enough how loud it is.

Nice apartment, terrible host

I would like to start by saying that we are seasoned travelers who have stayed in countless rental properties, including two others in Spain. I have never encountered such a rude and inhospitable host with the worst communication. I had sporadic communication with Ingrid before our arrival, and she had told me that she would meet us at the apartment upon our arrival. She knew the time of our arrival because she assisted in coordinating van transportation from the rail station (which we did appreciate, but was also done by all of our other VRBO hosts.) Upon arrival, no one was there to meet us, and I could not reach Ingrid through the VRBO platform or her cell number. It was only through the generosity of our driver who contacted several people who through a different number contacted Ingrid and stated she forgot to send someone, but that she would arrive within 15 minutes. After some time, the housekeeper came down and let us in. She then informed us the building was under construction so the elevators were not operating, so we had to drag 6, 50 pound bags of luggage up three flights of stairs (not an easy feat!) We were woken every morning at 7am to jackhammering, pounding, and workers talking loudly. I later tried to contact Ingrid for other issues, and she simply did not respond for a couple of days. When she finally did, she was so incredibly snarky and rude, calling us ungrateful and inhumane. The apartment itself is quite nice, spacious and clean. However, the grief of working with such a rude host does not make up for it. I would not recommend staying here based solely on our interactions with Ingrid.

Awesome location

The location is very convenient. We walked or took taxis everyday. There is a great bakery downstairs or Starbucks around the corner which made for quick and easy breakfasts. Seemed very safe, we walked around even at night. The bedrooms are a little strange with the one behind the living room glass partition and curtains, and the other one which seems to be placed in the middle of a very large bathroom. Other than that the place was great. We fit 6 people with no problems. We did have a difficult time unlocking both the outside door and the apartment door. It just takes some getting used to. You have to meet someone for check in to get the keys, this is not a self check in location.

Wonderful stay in Barcelona!

The experience was excellent, starting with check-in when Manu welcomed us with kindness and accommodation. The apartment is beautiful, well-equipped, and impeccably clean. The location is perfect, with easy access to tourist attractions, restaurants, and mini markets, among other amenities, which made our stay more convenient. We would definitely come back.

This apartment was everything we hoped for and more. Spacious, clean, beautifully designed, and full of natural light. The two main bedrooms had true king beds and were incredibly comfortable. Our kids loved the bunk room and took turns sleeping on the top bunk. The bathrooms had great water pressure and plenty of hot water, and having a washer and dryer was a huge bonus during our stay. The elevator is fully functional although we only used it for our bags - the stairs were easy enough.The highlight was the balcony overlooking the peaceful courtyard. It felt like a private retreat right in the heart of the city. We enjoyed wine there in the evenings and even caught a rooftop concert from the Casa Batllo House. Because the apartment faces the interior of the block, it’s quiet and calm—perfect after long days exploring.The location is ideal, right on Rambla de Catalunya with beautiful architecture, cafés, and shops just outside the door. It’s within walking distance to major landmarks but away from the crowds of the beach or cruise areas.Ingrid was a wonderful host—so kind, responsive, and accommodating, even when our check-in plans changed last minute. Communication was always clear and reassuring.We’re so grateful to have stayed in such a magical apartment in such a magical city. Highly recommend!

Barcelona stay

We couldn’t have asked for a better location to stay. The apartment had everything we needed, was close to great restaurants and shops, and while we were in the heart of the city, it was quiet at night. We loved the live music at night from casa batllo! It was the perfect place to stay!
