Sandy’s Getaway offers two distinct spaces to accommodate the whole family or multiple couples - a ground-level bedroom and a larger upstairs suite, connected by outdoor stairs. Everyone is welcome here, and that does include the family dog! Canine members of the family, up to 30 lbs, are welcome.

Inside, you'll find a small living area, TV, and private bathroom in the downstairs suite, as well as a washer and dryer, accessible from the outside. Regroup upstairs in the great room, or lounge on the deck while the gas grill heats up. Inside, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishware and modern appliances, including a dishwasher for easy clean-up. After dinner, gather in the living room for a movie night on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV, or use the free WiFi to keep in touch with everyone back home. This home is just a block from the pristine beach, so you may want to spend all day on the sand. Head about half a mile up the road to explore some dining options, including delicious seafood at The Sandbar Restaurant. If you'd like to explore the island, up to three cars can park in the driveway - but we recommend simply hopping on the free trolley that runs up and down Anna Maria Island!

Property was OK, it’s the property management by Vacasa, that is the issue. Unfortunately, would not stay at any other property managed by Vacasa.

The home is nice and close to the beach. But doesn’t have beds for everyone. The beds in the lower room aren’t good. And There is no disposer in the sink. And doesn’t have blender.

The location of the rental is good as its close to a beach access on Holmes and the trolley stops. It is nicely decorated. The water pressure in every sink is terrible and hardly any water trickles out. Both bathroom showers have excellent water pressure though.The upstairs bathroom toilet tank is about to fall off the back of the toilet and we were afraid it would come off while using. The main upstairs bedroom door is hard to open and close as the door probably needs a bit removed off the bottom to alleviate this. The downstairs bedroom has absolutely no storage for any hanging clothes. They should replace the long dresser with a wardrobe with both hanging and drawer options. Neither bathroom in the unit have any hook on the back of the doors to hanging toiletry bags have no where to go. The downstairs bathroom sink is only a sink with no lower storage either. There is no accessible electrical outlet on the sink side so everything has to plug in on the island. Since this rental is right on Gulf drive as others have noted, its extremely loud/noisy from road noise and loud music going down the road. I used a white noise on the phone to help drown this out at night. Overall, it was an ok place to stay for a couple of nights, but I would never come back. Pretty expensive with all the fees for all these issues.

great location for beach lovers

just a short walk to direct beach access made this house the perfect location. but vrBO does not mean "by owner" anymore. managing agent could have cared less. we had problems getting in with little help. we advised them of the black mold and said they would call within an hour but never did. second bathroom and bedroom not included in the main house level and had to be separated from our friends all weekend. house inside and outside was disgustingly dirty. if you love the beach.. this house is for you.

The home itself is cute on the main floor, sort of slapstick construction but it is a beach town. The lower level is, frankly, gross. The bathroom is nasty and it's just poorly maintained. The WiFi never worked the whole week, the dishwasher as well, and the patio was dirty and had ants, and we didn't have any bedding for the pullout beds. I called MULTIPLE times, nobody ever helped us. Location is good, Vacasa is a real disappointment for over 3,000.00 a week

Lacking Essentials

I am not one to complain and can navigate when things aren't as expected, so it pains me to have to say, this was one of the worst vacation rentals we have stayed at. When I read previous reviews of this location and saw comments about the kitchen and lack of essentials, I thought, it surely isn't that bad. Considering this rental can accommodate a larger group/family, being able to cook in the kitchen is essential. When reviews repeatedly say, the rental lacks essentials. Perhaps, take that seriously or inquire on specifics. We did not have one single spoon to use, enough towels for our family to use once, one washcloth, one dishcloth, and enough laundry soap to do one load of laundry, which means towels can be used once and you have to do a load of laundry. And for larger crowds/families, we used all the towels provided in one day. Every dish we pulled out of the cabinets were dirty and now I know why. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes. We ended up doing all the dishes by hand. The porch swing is broken, no seating downstairs for grilling out, and no consideration of possible mosquito repellant options. There was a lack of so many things for larger groups/families, it's to much to list. This property certainly needs some TLC and more thought into the amenities that make a vacation rental more user friendly for larger groups/families. The one redeeming quality was the physical location on the island. An easy walk to the beach and central to everything! Even though it was close to the main street, we didn't really mind that and enjoyed watching everyone out and about in the mornings. Overall, there are definitely better options to stay on AMI.

no resolution to issues

The downstairs A/C window unit was not large enough to cool the room. My daughter and son-in-law slept in another house with a friend one night and slept on the couches upstairs the other night. They cut their trip short because of this and only stayed two nights. To fill up the tank on the upstairs toilet, we had to open the lid and touch the gray piece connected to the float. I just left the lid off the whole time. The dryer quit working Sunday, so we were unable to wash the towels or any of our clothes. I used the same towel for my last five showers! I asked for clean towels to be delivered on four different occasions; by text, by phone, through the serviceman that came out to check the dryer, and one last time by text, again. No resolution at all! The standard reply was we are sorry, we will contact your local support. The serviceman said the unit would need a new dryer and he would bring one that afternoon to replace it. That never happened. During the summer months, it would be a nice house for two adults and two children, but definitely not 8 adults. Too hot to sleep downstairs with that small A/C window unit. I fell like I should be compensated for the issues mentioned above and the fact that my kids left early from our family vacation trip, but I'm not holding my breath waiting on a resolution to that, since nothing else was ever resolved. Sounds to me like there is no local support. I will avoid using Vacasa in the future.

Attending a wedding in Anna Maria, FL

The home served our purpose for a quick trip to a relative's destination wedding. The first floor and utility room (washer, dryer, beach chairs) were musty smelling. The second floor was clean but a bit worn. The side street is busy, a porch fan squeaked at night - I couldn't figure out where it came from until our last day - and the internet was slow. The reps from Vacasa were polite and responsive. Beach access was very close.

Nice but inaccurate listing

Pros: 5 minute walk to beach, central location, nice house. Having 2 sleeping areas was nice for multiple families. Stairs were not at steep as other reviews seemed to suggest. Cons: 1. The beds available were not as described. The listings are different on both VRBO and Vacasa’s app and neither are correct. There are actually 1 king, 1 double with a pull out couch, and 1 single size day bed and a single bed. (See 2.) 2. I tried to contact Vacasa about the bed situation and they said they would “get back to me” and never did. 3. We were never sent lock box codes at check in and had to call them to get into the house. A few suggestions for the owner: 1. Pillows are all very flat, it would be nice to have a few firmer pillows to use. 2. Knives are exceedingly dull. Either new knives or a sharpener would be nice. 3. It would be really helpful for young families to have a high chair or booster seat available for use.

No stove, no internet, no service

For some reason, Vacasa was somehow involved with this rental. After we left I refuse the casa and apparently they are one star out of five stars for over 500 reviews. I didn't have a stove, I bought $150 of groceries, we didn't have internet, I missed several hours of work, I found three roaches and a massive ants, the downstairs unit had extremely high odors due to painting and could not use it. The coffee canter was hidden finally found it. They tried moving us twice as far from the beach on day three but by that time we are already settled in and it was really a very sterile relocation. I'm pretty sure not giving somebody an oven or Internet in their rental if they advertise they have an oven and internet in a rental I'm pretty sure that's illegal

Lovely Anna Maria

First time in this part of Florida and it was great! Easy flight into Tampa from DFW (impressive airport in Tampa). Very comfy place and convenient to a beautiful beach about a 5 minute walk. Had some initial issues with a/c and tv but quickly addressed. Wi-Fi slow and couldn’t get it to work last two days but no worries. Cooked a number of meals in and they could use a few more kitchen utensils but you can make it work. Very comfy and relaxing trip! Thanks!
