Fabulous View

Villa Hermes is beautifully situated in the hills behind the tiny village of Kambia. Beatrice & Olivier were there to welcome us when we arrived and show us around the villa & pool area. We would recommend this villa to anyone looking for peace & quiet in Crete, we had a wonderful time!

Peaceful and private get-away.....

Everything was so easy! We made this lovely home our home for a week. It was pretty convenient for day trips to explore the island. Communication with Beatrice great and they were both so helpful. I was the primary driver and learned to take those mountain curves with care and fun! We loved our stay!

Excellent!

We (a family of four) had a very relaxing and happy 10-day stay at the Villa Hermes. A peaceful location, spectacular views, a carefully maintained and thoroughly comfortable vacation home, and it was a pleasure to meet Béatrice and Olivier, our kind and considerate hosts. Thank you!

Very privat and quiet. The pool was absolutely wonderful and during our stay (11 days) it was cleaned two times. The house was very clean an with beautiful details nicely decorated. There was a big amount of towels vor uns. The kitchen was well equipped. For me, with my back and shoulder pain, the beds vere an little bit to hard, but I was able to help myself with the many pillows, we had in the house. So nightsleep was goodThe other Persons had no problems with sleeping harder.... It's individualThe owners of the house are extremely friendly and helpful!!! Every WhatsApp was immediately answered. We are really thankful for this great holiday. The is view is extraordinary!!!!

Lovely restful property with outstanding views, lovely pool area and well equipped with everything you need for a wonderful holiday. Sound of the sheep and goat bells was charming, watching the birds of prey was a great pleasure and the added bonus of the military jets doing their exercises was a real unexpected treat for us.The bedrooms being downstairs stayed cool enough for sleeping with just the ceiling fan. The pool design is excellent - the flat ledge and drains cleared the surface of the water brilliantly - no need to net out loads of bugs before you could use it. The sunsets were spectacular with the perfect view from the terraces and then we were delighted to see bats flying about in the dusk and after dark. There are no real negatives about this property. Or only grumble was it was quite a long drive to the main road to get further afield in the island. But if you just want a relaxing base with a fantastic pool and views and the occasional trip to the supermarket and meal out in the lovely little beachside town of Almyrida then this is truly a little gem of a holiday rental. I can't praise Beatice and her husband enough. Great communication, responsive to the tiny issue with the coffee machine we had and the extra pool cleaning all made the holiday even better. The bottle of bubbly on arrival (it was our honeymoon) we so kind too. Overall a fantastic villa but you need a car where its really out of the way - just what we were looking for!!

Peace and beauty

We stayed in this lovely villa for 2 weeks September 2023. The most striking feature is the fabulous view down to the sea which the layout of the villa and its 2 large terraces accommodates perfectly. The swimming pool is perfect and kept spotless by Olivier. The villa itself is chic and well- equipped, the beds comfortable and it is meticulously clean. One bedroom is a mezzanine above the kitchen area but was comfortable and private enough. The le Maitres are delightful, efficient, helpful and friendly. They met us from the main road junction on the evening we arrived, to guide us up the hill behind Almyrida. It is about 10-15 minutes from that attractive seaside village by car. Many good eating places. Chania is about 40 minutes away and has an enchanting port area. The driving up to the villa is perhaps not for the faint- hearted, the drops into the gorge below are striking and the road barriers more aspirational than actual - although the keen drivers amongst our party relished the challenge. It is only for that reason that I give 4 rather than 5 stars to the location. It is a very beautiful place and blissfully quiet.

Everything was perfect about this property. The views were divine; the outdoor space exquisite. If you are deciding between this place and another, just understand that the pictures do not do this place justice. It's much nicer in real life. Beatrice was very attentive and helpful. It's easy to find and the village is a short drive a way. We walked down to both the beach and the two villages, but that may be a bit far for some folks. Go to Zorba's for dinner. Do not, however, let your 12-year-old son get a glass of water only to realize it's Raki after his first gulp.

Absolute Weiterempfehlung!

Beautiful Villa in a stunning location

Villa was amazing, well equipped with essentials like loo roll, Oil, cleaning products etc that, in our experience, you don’t normally get in Greek villas - plus some generous welcome gifts of wine, beer, cheese , fruit and fresh tomatoes! Very clean, spacious and tastefully decorated, large pool with views to die for, and peace and quiet other than the odd goat bell! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beatrice’s Villa, communication was great and the fantastic weather was a bonus! The road to the Villa is pretty scary at times (especially in the dark) but well worth the drive up the mountain to get to the property!!

Tolles Haus, tolle Lage, nette Vermieter

Fantastisk Bolig

we have had a wonderful holiday, in a fantastic house. It was very clean and tidy. Our hosts were sweet and friendly and they did everything to make sure everything was in order. Even when we asked for extra cleaning of the pool, due to sandstorm, they came right away. We can warmly recommend this house where the hosts are very helpful. Kind regards Dorte
