About this property
BEST SPRING SKIING!! Mountain Ski House Masterpiece. Featured In magazines/TV
My home will take your breath away. It has been featured in many architectural home magazines, as well as a featured home on HGTV. It is award winning, full of sunlight and cheerful. It has European charm and unique character. Tucked secretly in town but so private it's hard to find, is my Mountain Ski House Masterpiece. Built from a dream up in 2001, barn wood from the old Elk Horn Mine in Montana now graces the exterior siding of this two story treasure. A restored historic shed that retains the flavor of this mining town is now your romantic master bedroom suite. Relax in front of the southwestern style bedroom kiva fireplace. It is on the creek and the sound of running water will lull you to sleep. The detached "bunkhouse" shed provides the perfect get away for children. The "Sundance" collection completes the guest room interiors. Open the large windows at night and hear the creek, just inches away, trickle under the snow. The flooring is three hundred year old wide plank pine. The sweeping twenty-five foot high ceilings are supported by century old beams. Imported doors from Mexico are throughout the house. The art work covering the walls has been collected from all over the world. Exquisitely beautiful Persian rugs are meant to be walked and lived on. It is a warm, handsome, family adoring home. Every shop and restaurant is a walk away — yet you are hidden on Bear Alley and very private. The boutique ski area, part of Vail Resorts and the Epic Pass, is nestled two miles up the road. A town shuttle will take you there. The shuttle stop is two blocks away. After a day of skiing, sip wine in the outdoor hot tub, just inches away from the creek. A stay in my home will open up a lifetime love affair with Crested Butte. Crested Butte is an experience. My Mountain Ski House Masterpiece is a feeling. I look forward to your stay.

We had a great 6 night stay in this wonderful home. The host could not possibly have been more kind or easy to work with. We loved the in town location allowing us to walk to coffee, dinner, and shops. We will try to rent this home again on return trips to Crested Butte.
We had a great stay with our family over spring break! The layout of the house is great with space to hang out together and also get away and read a book. Everything worked great and Elizabeth was on contact with us and available to answer any questions or provide recommendations anytime. We would definitely stay here again!
Tucked away and just steps away from all that CB has to offer this fairy tale home was the perfect place for us to call home during our month long stay. We enjoyed cocktails by Coal Creek each afternoon, admired the extensive art collection that adorns the living area walls each morning over coffee and star gazed through the skylights above our bed each night. This lovingly restored home has unparalleled history and charm. Without a doubt, staying here made our time in Crested Butte all the more memorable.
Elizabeth was fantastic from before we arrived, she responds quickly with detail and is so kind! We traveled with another family (4 adults, 4 teens and a toddler) her home worked perfectly for all. The bunk house was a perfect retreat for the teenagers and we all enjoyed the separate living spaces in the main house. The home is very well equipped and in a great location to town and the shuttle up to the mountain. The kids sled down the hill behind the house for hours and we enjoyed many hot tub soaks! We will absolutely consider visiting again. Thank you for a great stay and being such a wonderful host!!
Our family stayed at the Currier's "Mountain ski house masterpiece" for 10 nights over the Christmas holiday. The home was perfect in every way. It was clean, cozy, warm and offered a great home base for our family and friends to be together over Christmas. We hosted numerous dinners in the generously appointed chefs kitchen and enjoyed long soaks in the hot tub every night which overlooks the beautiful (but frozen) Coal Creek. The bus stop was just a 5 minute walk making it very easy to get to and from Mt. Crested Butte and Elk avenue is another 5 minutes. We were able to walk everywhere we needed. Having the master bedroom and bunkroom set away from the main area of the house allowed the early-to-bedders (and risers) plenty of peace and quiet. Every detail of this home has been well thought out. All of the beds were nice and comfortable and bathrooms were new and clean. For the little downtime you might have, the library is "one for the books!" This house is truly a masterpiece. Can't wait to stay again! Thanks Liz!

The house was beautiful and warm, perfect for our ski vacation. Only steps from town and ski shuttles, the location was ideal. Our host Liz couldn’t have been more helpful. Thanks for sharing your home and we look forward to our next stay.

About the host
Hosted by Elizabeth Currier
Liz Le Coq Currier, a Colorado native, longed to return home after living twenty years in San Francisco. In 2001 she and her husband, Joe Currier, found the perfect lot, tucked off a gravel alley, perched on running water and right in town. The storybook house Liz created and designed, began as a vacation home, but quickly became the permanent residence for Liz, Joe and their teenage son, Jenner. Liz is currently working on a screenplay and uses the "bunkhouse" as her writing studio and happy place.
