Guests are serenaded by abundant bird life and the soothing sound of waterfalls cascading into the tidal estuary below. Your contemporary suite features a spacious bathroom with W/D, 9' ceilings which let in loads of light, two bedrooms and a pull-out futon which comfortably sleeps up to five persons. Prepare your own gourmet meals in the well-appointed kitchen, or dine at waterfront restaurants nearby. A private deck and trail winds down to water's edge. We have a canoe, a kayak aand SUP for guests to explore the protected waters of Secret Cove Inlet. And we're just minutes from Smugglers Cove, a destination for the trails and tidal pools and ocean views. So close to the City, and yet it feels like a world away.

Lovely spot, well thought out amenities. Hosts were very friendly. One detail that we had not realized when booking, was that the accommodations are a suite in the hosts home. This was not an issue for us as we had private entrance, covered deck, barbeque and outside eating/sitting area that was all very private and overlooked the cove. Waterfront area is very peaceful, had chairs for sitting and kayak, canoe, sup if you want to be on the water. Lovely location.

Amazing stay at Halfmoon Bay! The host Laura was very helpful and showed us around when we got there. Free kayak, paddle board and canoe is the highlight! The place had everything you need for a stay with a young child, from super well equipped kitchen to the bathroom. Beautiful view from the patio and a path to the water. Because of the tide, you can only go kayaking in the afternoon, around 4-5 pm, but the location is great and you can easily get to Sechelt or hikes from the place. We'd stay again!

We plan to return to this beautiful home again. Everything was clean, well organized, comfortable and quiet. Laura and John were very helpful and kind and really went above and beyond in helping us plan our hikes and kayak paddles. We really enjoyed them and their beautiful place.

Had a terrific week of rest and relaxation at Laura and John's place. Booking and communication was excellent. The property is just as described and shown in pictures. Everything is fresh, clean and kitchen well stocked for cooking. We very much enjoyed our time down by the water in the lounge chairs. We aren't paddlers, but there's canoe and SUP to use. Be aware of the charts as entry really only good at high tide. I did overlook the description that the bunkbed room is only accessible through the main bedroom, so just be aware if that might be an issue for you and other guests. Smugglers Cove park is only couple minutes drive down the street and Halfmoon Bay General store about 5 or so once back on main highway. But grab your groceries in Sechelt, as the store is and only good for grabbing bits and pieces. If you enjoy the peace and quiet, this place is for you. I recommend it highly, and thank you Laura and John for being such gracious and respectful hosts.

Great location

Property was very clean and had lots of amenities. Very close to lots of good hikes and the bay was great for kayaking in the evening when the tide was in. Laura and John had lots of great recommendations for things to do as well.

Peaceful paradise

Lovely stay in a quiet oasis. We enjoyed watching the variety of bird life and swimming at high tide. Laura and John are fabulous hosts.

Comfortable suite, beautiful property

We really enjoyed our stay and found Laura and John’s suite was a great home base. The waterfront, canoe and heater on the patio were family highlights. The suite was very clean and modern, several lovely touches to make the stay comfortable.

Great Property

We enjoyed our stay at the Tidal Dance. It was quiet and secluded suite and had great access to the water. There were hikes nearby and we were able to paddleboard everyday. It was clean and well-stocked for cooking.

Amazing spot tucked away in the woods

This place was amazing for the other half of our family for the weekend. The host showed us around in person which was so kind and helpful. The place is beautiful and everything was clean. We appreciated their responsiveness and flexibility with our group needs. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent stay

This is a beautiful place, and the cottage, attached on one side to the owner's home but completely private, is spacious, very well-equipped, and the host is very helpful. Sechelt with shopping is close. We used the cottage as a base for hiking the many nearby parks, but it also provides kayaks, canoe and rowboat for trips down the inlet.

Hidden Gem Tidal Dance

Laura was wonderful from the moment we arrived- with homemade sweet’s waiting for us. The property was exceptionally clean, with very comfortable furniture and a great layout for guests. Tidal Dance is so quiet and peaceful- we’ll definitely be back.

Laura and John were amazing hosts and very responsive to any request we had. They were very helpful with lots of information about the whole Sunshine Coast. The location is perfect for families to get on the water in a safe environment. The inlet is beautiful and great for swimming. The Canoe, Kayak and SUP were a bonus!

John and I have been visiting the Sunshine Coast for 15 years, so it was no surprise we chose to retire to this community. We are outdoor enthusiasts: kayaking, hiking, mountain biking are just a few of the sports we enjoy. We love to travel and explore new cultures, languages and cuisine. We welcome you to our private, landscaped retreat.

Why they chose this property

John and I only moved to the Sunshine Coast five years ago, but it feels like we've always called this home. We are blessed to have a property that offers both water and trail activities right from our front door. And it is a pleasure to wake up to the sounds of birds chirping and the cascading waters of Homesite Creek against the backdrop of Crown forest lands. The colours and tides and wildlife are always changing, so you never tire of the view. We think we've won the lottery!
