This hand-carved cave cottage has a beautiful exterior and gets even better as you go inside. Its well decorated cavern interior will charm you with its thoughtful layout. On the main floor there is a full kitchen with stone counters and dining bar, a sitting area with comfy chairs, a bathroom with an oversized tile shower, a bedroom with a queen bed and a private porch with a large hot tub.
Up the stone steps you'll find a super cute bedroom loft with lots of windows and more amazing views.
The Space:
The Cavern on the Green is one of two unique carved stone homes on the property. This cottage is next door to the Bedrock Cave Cottage and is in the middle of a 12 acre property. There is a photo of Bedrock Cave Cottage in this listing as well. Both cottages were designed and built to charm and wow travelers and provide a unique, private, and relaxing experience. There is ample space for an outdoor event. Events do have to be schedule far in advance. Relax on the shady porch, or in the hot tub, and enjoy the great views. Listen to the birds and wildlife, watch hang gliders zoom around overhead, and see more stars than you are accustomed to. Come experience what we've created for you!
The Neighborhood:
The Cavern is on my private 12 acre "estate". You won't be bothered by traffic. You will see and hear hang gliders flying around overhead as we are 2 blocks from Lookout Mountain Hang Gliding. The Cottage is nestled in to the side of a hill at the foot of Lookout Mountain and it is very pretty here. Our Bedrock Cave Cottage is next door and up the hill.
Interaction with Guests:
I live elsewhere on the property, my sister Angela also lives on the property and we love to meet and chat with our guests that want that kind of interaction. Musicians, I play guitar and mandolin, have loaners, and would love to jam.

Had a great couple days disconnecting from the hustle bustle of life, and reconnecting with family. Beautiful spot, loved watching the hang gliders and star gazing from the hot tub.
Such a beautiful place for quiet getaway! The cavern on the green was perfect anniversary trip destination! 23 min from DT Chattanooga and 15 min from cloudland Canyon. Highly recommend!
Beautiful gem located on a hilltop. So peaceful and relaxing. Favorite parts were the hottub, watching movies on the roof and the paragliders. So cool. Beds were extremely comfortable too! Highly recommend.
It was super cute! The host responded and help me with any questions I had. It was so peaceful! No tv so made kids spend time together playing games and talking. We didn’t want to leave!
Very unique property! My only negative would be seating in the living room, and maybe some sort of guide for the barn door on bathroom. Hot tub felt great, beds were comfortable. Great for a girls weekend.
The host was very welcoming and helpful. We couldn't figure out how to work the air conditioning and I emailed him a question. Within minutes he was at our unit to help us with it. The beautiful cabin was very well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, spices and seasonings, towels and other necessities. We parked and didn't have to go anywhere the whole weekend. Everything was clean and tidy. The hot tub was wonderful!
The location is very quiet, and secluded. While they host did provide directions, we didn't check in until after dark. Some sort of low lighting, lanterns, would have gone a long way to find our way to the house as Maps didn't know where it was. A TV would have been nice to have, at least in the master bedroom, for night time wind down.
